Mikasa- This is really the last chapter of the story.
LLL- There is a little rated M content towards the end of the story. It's not much but I still marked it for those who might want to skip it. If you don't read through the entire chapter, at least read the bolded NA at the end of the chapter. Thank for everyone who stuck around. I enjoyed writing this story so much. These are my favorite characters.

Reiner walks gradually and steadily. He is careful not to rock with the humans on his shoulders and his strides are long so this won't take all day. It's somewhat awkward because he's never casually strolled within the walls as a titan before. He peeks over to Armin. There is no way this action can be subtle being that his head is so big.
Armin's looking off into the distance, squinting his eyes. "Reiner…." He says and then points out. "What's that?"
He looks up and sees a large cloud of dust coming towards them.
"They've sent people to kill us," Levi grunts.
"Maybe they're rescuers," Eren shrugs sarcastically
Reiner puts his hands over his shoulders, shielding the three while trying to hold them down to the best of his abilities. The last thing he wants to do is give them a concussion from being thrown around on his shoulders. The dust clouds are getting closer to him.
He hits a light jog.
Armin feels Reiner putting pressure on his back in a desperate attempt to keep him steady. Under the titan's palm, light shines through the creases of his fingers. Armin squints his eyes. "What is he planning?" His eyes snap open when realization strikes. "REINER! DON'T KILL ANYONE!" He screams. That's when his body is lurched forward. Reiner has stopped his running. Armin hit the nail on the head.
Reiner is torn. If he can't kill these men then what can he do? The horses are near him and he backs away. He can't engage. Even the smallest hit will break and kill them. Would Armin be mad if he "accidentally" killed someone?
"Hey walking shield, why aren't you attacking?" Levi yells in his ear. They are close enough. They really don't need to shout. With urgency Reiner removes his hand, grabs Levi and Eren and tosses them onto his other shoulder with Armin.
Levi raises his eyebrows. "I don't see how this is the answer to my question. Kill them."
"No!" Armin yells. "He's not killing anyone!"
"What…"
"He needs to clear himself as a human being."
"He's not a human and he's killed people already. So what wrong will it do him now?"
"He just can't. Not when he's trying to gain our trust back."
"Armin, this is ridiculous. Those aren't just normal humans. They are trying to kill us."
"They're just following orders!"
"Well here's my order, as the captain. Reiner, kill them."
Armin stares Levi in his eyes, furious and partially hurt. He breaks the eye contact and sits quietly.
Reiner can feel the tension after hearing the conversation. This isn't something Armin wants. Fuck Levi's authority. 3DMG are launched at him but bounce off of his skin. He kicks the ground and dust and rocks fly into the faces of the men, blinding some of them.
He is about ready to retreat into another direction when a smoke flare is fired at his eyes and cripples his vision. He is using both his hands to shield the three on his shoulder, and so, has no way to cover his eyes. If he walks he might trip and injure them, so he stays grounded.
"Why isn't he moving?" Levi mumbles angrily. "Braun, move your fingers so we can see!" Reiner doesn't comply. He feels the 3DMG blades scratching him. Although his body is primarily hardened, he can still feel it. It isn't an armor to be exact, but his skin. They all hear something else approaching. "That sounds like a carriage." Levi says.
"What are they bringing?" Eren asks.
Something wraps around Reiner's legs. His vision is finally starting to return. He sees two horses but before he can react both of them pull at full speed pulling metal ropes. His ankles are yanked together and he falls to his knees with a crash.
"READY!" A voice screams. Reiner knows that signal. Although he can't see, he knows what's coming next. He turns the best he can away from the voice and bends over, protecting the three to the best of his abilities.
Levi's eyes widen with realization. "It's a canon." At those words the voice screams again. "FIRE!"
The boom of the canon echoes for miles, ringing in the human's ears. Three shells smash into Reiner's back and his arm. Eren, Levi and Armin are rocked. They feel the heat of the blast and are impacted pretty hard themselves from the contact. Armin's eyes are squeezed shut. When he opens them he sees something strange. It's like a diamond bubble is surrounding them.
Levi watched it form on the insides of the titan's hands. "Amazing. He's protecting us."
"No…." Armin huffs breathlessly.
"FIRE!" 3 more rounds hit Reiner and this time he falls over.
Eren looks at their crystal becoming thicker. "He won't be able to keep this up…. and if he does we might be stuck in here."
He feels nervous and worried. He isn't used to something like this, but It's not the first time he's felt this way. His heart is pounding through his chest with the fear of losing something that he cares about. Cares about? No, he can't. Not yet. Not until he's sure. "REINER!" Armin screams. "KILL THEM!"
Reiner hears this and he knows that's not what Armin wants. When Reiner doesn't move Eren knows. "He's not going to listen to you."
"He has to or they'll…"
"He wants our trust. So he won't do it."
Dammit. This is not what was supposed to happen.
"FIRE!". This time Reiner grunts. He was already as injured as Eren yet he is enduring the pain and holding onto his titan form. But this won't last.
"REINER! AREN'T YOU A WARRIOR!" Armin cries. "WARRIORS DON'T COWER! NOW I'M TELLING YOU TO KILL THEM! DON"T BE THE EASY PREY!" The last bit comes out as something he can't here. Breathy and sad. "Just live…"
He knows Armin doesn't want this at all but if he wants to protect him, he has no choice. He yanks his legs apart. The horses and two men riding them fly through the air with a scream. The other soldiers are ready to attack with the canons again. After the amount of noise that they made, he knows exactly where they are despite not being able to see very well. He swings his leg around and hits all of the canons.
The equipment is smashed along with a few people.
Reiner moves his hands. The crystal he created to protect them protrudes from his shoulder like an encrusted jewel. From the inside the sun shines through, creating a sparkling light show for the trapped three.
"I-I can't see what's going on…." Armin says.
Eren knocks on the rock. "In all honesty, I think that's the least of our worries."
Levi's eyes are glued on Armin. It isn't like him to be this worried. He's hiding something.
The titan struggles to look at his surroundings. He sees a lot of damage, dead humans, and horses….. In the back. Alive. Horses. They must have been extras for the squad. The soldier who has them looks rather young. He is frozen in his tracks staring at his gruesome surroundings. Reiner walks up to him with booming steps and the boy starts crying hysterically. "I DON'T WANT TO DIE! PLEASE! PLEEEAAASSSE!"
Reiner bends down to one knee, not seeing the boy as even a slight threat. He puts his finger up to his mouth as to shush the brat and points to the horses. The soldier's eyes go wide. "You're…. trying to communicate?" Reiner simply points to the horse. "You want the horses? Take them!" Reiner grabs 2 of the animals and stands up, walking away.
The boy stares at him in amazement before passing out.
Reiner hits a slow jog, hoping he isn't rocking Armin around too much. He uses his injured eyes as best as he can to find shelter. He eventually sees a village in the distance. Very small.
He stops where he sees a tree, snaps the metal rope from his ankles and ties up the horses. Now this is the part he's worried about. He can't break the crystal without hurting them and when he changes the steam will be trapped inside before they can escape and burn. He's at a loss for what he should do.
Then he remembers the key to melting the crystal. Titan blood. But if he wants it to be fast enough there needs to be a lot of it.
That's the only answer. He can only think to himself. 'What the hell is happening to me?'
He grabs his right arm and yanks. Intense pain floods through him. So much pain that he fears he will turn back into a human before this works. He feels every piece of muscle tearing, shredding and ripping apart. Warm blood runs down his torso and slowly turns into steam.
He screams out against the pain.
The three are being heated by the sun in the crystal. Their attention is caught after hearing Reiner's ear piercing yell. Armin looks up. "What is he doing?!"
"No clue."
Suddenly the entire crystal turns red. Still they can't make out what it might be. That's when sunlight gradually shines to their eyes. They are greeted with steam, lots of it. The hole is at the top. They are soon tossed to the side and slammed against the crystal.
Armin realizes this is because Reiner has fallen to the ground. He scrambles out of the hole and the first thing he notices is the titan's arm separated from his body. Armin knows immediately what Reiner did. Something risky, stupid and fatal. He rushes to the nape of The Armored Titan's neck. "REINER! GET UP!" He wants to dig Reiner out of the titan but he can't figure out how to get passed the hardened skin. "YOU'RE NOT GOING TO GIVE UP AFTER THIS ARE YOU! REINER….. please…after trying so hard to protect us."
The hardened skin turns into muscle and Reiner breaks out of it. Unlike Eren, he doesn't have on a shirt. His chest is bare. He smiles. "I'm not like Jaeger. I have more experience."
The steam around them is so hot that it almost burns. He looks at Reiner's weak smile and closed eyes. Tears sting Armin's eyes and he throws himself onto the broad shifter, wrapping his arms around his neck. He squeezes Reiner into the embrace.
"I know what I'm doing," Reiner says.
"No you don't…" Armin's voice is raspy from screaming and muffled with emotion. 'He was wrong.' That's the only thing that runs through his head.
Reiner wraps his arms around the small male, feeling how little his shape is in comparison to his own. He doesn't just feel a human, but someone he has to protect. Someone he's always felt protective over. When Annie was attacking, letting Armin die would've been his best choice of action but even then, he couldn't bare it. He had to save him. He just never realized it. This is not something he plans to let go of.
He tightens his grip only slightly, placing his entire palm on the back of Armin's head. Steam surrounds them and Armin's tears drip down Reiner's body. Reiner holds him close.
"Why are you crying?"
"I-I…..*hic* don't know…. Scared…. you scared me…..I thought you might..."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize… *hic* d-dammit."
Reiner laughs. "Sorry."
Armin looks at him slightly. "Can you see?"
"No." Armin looks off frantically into the distance and sees a small town. His heart leaps out of his chest. Reiner gets nervous from the silence. "Don't be upset. It'll heal in about-mnnn." Armin takes advantage of the situation and connects their lips, kissing him gently. Armin's lips are soft and warm. He pulls back slowly. "three minutes…. Ya know," Reiner says. "Levi's going to kill us."
"No. He's going to kill you."
*meanwhile*
Eren is holding on to the captain's waist in an attempt not to further injure him. "Levi! Quit struggling! You're going to hurt yourself."
"I'm going to kill him. Did he just….? He's dying. Today…"
"You can't kill him!"
"Give me one good reason."
"One. He just saved our lives. Two. Armin will never forgive you." This causes Levi to calm down. He wasn't referring to Reiner. He stands up a bit straighter. "Let's let them have some time to themselves for a few minutes." Eren walks with Levi over to the tree where to horses are feeding on the grass. "He got us horses."
"I think we can probably trust him."
"Did you forget why Shiganshina and Wall Maria are the way that they are?"
"I can't blame him for that. Not after what I did to Wall Rose."
"He was in his right mind. You weren't."
"We don't know if he was…"
"You're really going to take his side."
"No… I'm trying to take Armin's side. Armin is the one I trust and it seems like those two are something we're going to have to get used to whether you like it or not."
Levi stares at his lover, thinking he'd notice. But he's so slow sometimes. He wouldn't notice. Armin hadn't dropped many hints after all. The subtle and accidental on top of that. "Help me on to this damn horse."
Levi and Eren mount onto the horse and ride it around the steadily evaporating corpse of the titan. Unexpectedly, Reiner falls to the ground from the nape. He lays on his back looking up at the two. Armin jumps down behind him. "Reiner are you ok?"
"Yeah. I'm fine," he groans.
Armin looks up at Levi. "He can't walk. What do we do?"
"Leave him."
Armin furrows his eyebrows and Levi glares at him. Immediately he knows that Levi has an idea of what he's up to and he doesn't like it. At all. That's when they hear barking in the distance. It appears that a few men are coming from the village.
The group all seem to be thinking the same thing and stay in their places, waiting for the men to make it to them. The villagers look at the titan corpse in amazement and horror.
Armin's eyebrows furrow but he takes a deep breath, controlling his assumptions.
"Excuse me. Who are you guys? And what is this thing doing in here?" One man is speaking. He looks middle aged and has a dangerous limp. The other two men are rather young and are looking at the Armored titan's body.
"I-Is this what a titan looks like…?
They have an accent of Outsiders. Outsiders are people who don't stay in any of the districts but live within the walls. "Can you help us?" Armin asks. "We are scouting legion soldiers. We just killed this titan but a few of us were injured. We just need to rest for a little."
"You killed this thing?" The older man asks. He sighs. "Alright." He looks at Reiner and then Levi. "I will be back. Callum and Larus, Stay with them."
"Wait!" Reiner blurts.
The man turns his head. "Yes?"
"Do…do I know you from somewhere?"
The man looks in the clouds, searching his memory. "No. I don't believe so. Do I look like someone you recognize?"
"No." Reiner shakes his head. "My memory has always been kind of off. Sorry."
Armin takes note to this. None of it fits. The man scurries off back to the village. The two males are still looking at the titan as it becomes bones. They then look at the suspicious group. "So you guys are soldiers? You don't look like it."
"It's supposed to be my day off," Levi mumbles.
"You kill titans?"
"Yes."
"I didn't know about titans until just a year ago. It's really hush hush in the village. They don't want the kids knowing."
"That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."
"I thought so too. I still didn't believe it when I was told by one of the older adults. But now that I see this….. There are still some adults who don't know about them."
Armin is sitting on the ground next to Reiner, looking him in the eyes since they finally healed. He can see how much the shifter cares for him just through his eyes. He hasn't heard a word of what the guys are saying. "How do you feel?" Armin asks.
"Numb." Reiner says. He raises his arm with difficulty and rubs Armin's head, letting the damp blond strands slide between his fingers.
Something ruff touches his face and pushes him over. Reiner falls to his side and Armin hits Levi's foot out of his face. Levi raises an eyebrow. "Are you mad at me?"
"Yes."
"Are you really?"
"Yes!"
"Are you…?"
Armin looks to the ground and helps Reiner up before mumbling, "No, I was wrong… I just didn't want to be. If would've just talked to you…"
"Alright, enough," Levi says. "No need to dwell on decisions made in the past. We are all alive."
"Thanks to me," Reiner says.
Levi ignores this comment, turning back to the villagers. "So can you tell me exactly where we are?"
"Flathill village. We are a good while away from the walls but I can't give you an exact measurement."
The dog walks in circles around Levi's leg and he resists not kicking. He looks into the distance. "Far enough that you can't see them from here."
Armin's eyebrows are knitted together. "Flat-hill..?" 'They are telling us too much…'
"Yep."
They see a large carriage rolling towards them. It is a while before it actually gets to them at the pace the horses are walking.
"Well, this is the best I got." The man says, guiding the horses. "Yall don't seem to be walkin too well."
"Thank you." Armin stands up and attempts to help Reiner but fails miserably. It isn't until the other two boys help that they are actually able to get him off of the ground. They get him into the back of the dirty carriage and Levi is assisted by Eren. Armin and Eren hop in next to them.
"Yall gonna get in?"
"No," says Callum. "I want to look at the titan for a bit longer."
"Me too."
The old man sighs. "Well, be back soon please."
"Yes sir."
The horses begin walking back to the village. The group is silent for the entire ride. They are all questioning what their next moves will be. How they will react in the next situation and what exactly is going on right now. Eventually they make it back to the small village. Children are rolling around in tall grass near houses. Women sit on the step of their homes, looking at the mysterious people rolling in.
It's peaceful. Almost as if there isn't a worry in the world. They are assisted by some other men into a house. The home is a comfortable size with a table, bed, a few chairs and some miscellaneous items. "What's ya'lls names." The old man asks.
"I'm Armin. This is Eren, Levi, and Reiner."
"Seems like yall comin from the inner walls, right?"
"Yeah."
"Those two brats, Callum and Larus, told us that you don't tell the villagers here about titans." Levi comments.
The man is silent for only a moment, looking around for eavesdroppers. "We don't want our family living in fear. We want them to enjoy the gifts of life and not dwell on how it'll end or who we can't trust."
"What do you do when they find out?"
"We let them go upon the path that they want choose. Some go into the trainee squad hoping to become Military Police and be even more secure. Others, the two I was with, become curious and want to see the titans, fight them."
"You let them do as they please?"
"Well I can't stop them now, can I? We simply make them vow not to tell anyone in the village." The man limps over to a crate, gets something out of it and kneels on the floor next to Levi. "It looks like your leg might be broken. Would you like me to wrap it up with a splint so you can at least walk?"
"No."
"Yes," Eren intervenes. The man starts to work on Levi's leg. "What harm could knowing about the titans possibly bring to the village?"
"Were you listening to anything I just said boy? What good is life if you spend all of it trying to get revenge, whether it's on titans or humans. Your life passes you by, you burden yourself, and more importantly, you hurt others."
"Sounds like you have quite a bit of experience." Levi points out.
The man sighs brashly. "I have a daughter. A great, strong girl. I guess you can say she was born knowing about titans. I trained her myself, but I pushed her too hard. I pushed her away, but I realized that a little too late. She still forgave me. She went off to become a soldier in the Military Police. She promised me that one day she'd come back."
Reiner's throat is dry as faint memories become clearer. "Sir…. May I ask? What was your daughter's name?"
"Annie."
Every one's breath catches in their throats and their mouths go dry. Eren's eyes are wide and tears stream down his face at the very sound of the name. Levi only sighs and the man easily notices the wave of reaction.
"Mr. Leonhardt," Reiner says. "Do you remember me?"
The man's eyebrows knit together in confusion. "I don't believe so. How do you know my last name? No one in this entire village knows that."
"I'm Reiner Braun."
The man's memories slowly catch up with him. "….Braun. The boy from the outer…..village? You went with my girl, with Annie. You and Hoover. Right." The man's voice is shaky and he looks around at the others. Eren can't even seem to make eye contact with the man. "The mission… how did the mission….Annie. Where is she?" The man stands up. Reiner looks him in the eyes. "Annie, died about a year ago."
Armin is tired of this. He's sick of all of it. The distractions.
The man has frozen. "Sh-she… she's gone?" The man falls to his knees. He puts his head on the floor and begins crying hysterically. "No. No. My fault…. It's…my fault. I'm sorry Annie." Eren stands up and walks to the man, bending next to him as he wails into the floor. Eren places a hand on Annie's father's, in an attempt to comfort him. He sits up, wide eyed. "H-how did she die? What were her last moments like."
He knew that already.
Eren immediately snatches his hand away. Sadness floods him to the point of not being able to function. "Sh-she…."
"She died in the arms of someone she cared about and who cared dearly about her." Levi takes over.
The father smiles sheepishly. "However she died…. I know she was strong."
"She was the…. The strongest female I knew. And she loved you a lot." Eren adds.
The man takes a deep breath in an attempt to regain himself. "If you boys know Braun and my Annie then do you know about….?" The man looks towards Reiner and he nods. "How did she…."
"Sir," Levi says. "It's our turn to ask a few questions."
The man sighs. "Ok, but I won't be able to answer all of them."
"What is this mission that you were referring to for Annie?"
"It's complicated but I'll keep it simple. Exterminate all of humanity."
Their eyes are wide. "I think I recall Annie saying something similar to that, but why? Aren't you human?" Eren asks.
Armin can only silently thank Levi.
"There are a lot of things you don't know boy."
"Then explain it!"
" 'Fraid I can't."
"Mr. Leonhardt," Armin says. "If you can't explain that, then can you tell me? You're human and other humans lived in this 'outside village'. Are there other humans who wish to take part in the extermination of humanity?"
"Yes. There are a select few who will continue the mission on their own If they are left with no choice." He looks over to Reiner. "Does this mean you have abandoned the mission?"
"Yes." Reiner says. Armin flinches at this answer, but no one notices.
It's been on Levi's mind for a minute now and he's reluctant to ask. "Do you know Ava?"
"Ava." The man coughs out a laugh and continues to fix Levi's leg. "That old loon. She must have caused you trouble for you to be askin me bout her. She sure was smart. Been scheming since we were kids. I always knew she was crazy. She vowed to exterminate all humans so that we could live in peace, but I felt she always missed the big picture."
"I don't understand," Eren grunts, "how exterminating humans is supposed to help."
"You need to look at things the way the Outsiders do. The way the wall worshippers do. You're wondering how titans got here. Have you ever questioned how humans got here? Has it ever occurred to you that maybe, just maybe, we didn't come first. That we might have been created to be titan food and that we have become the danger to them."
"How could you say…"
"Nothing kid. It's centuries of history, legends, and religion to explain." A gun shot sounds outside and everyone jumps. Eren looks at the door with wide eyes. The old man just smiles. "We hunt game out here. That will be heard if the kill wasn't dead. Don't worry."
Now.
"So," Armin says. "Ava was on the same mission as Annie, Reiner and Bertoldt? To exterminate humanity. They failed. All of them. What are the odds of those people attempting to strike back?"
"Not too slim if you ask me. They've waited years for this to succeed. They wouldn't just sit quietly while their plans fail." The man finishes with Levi's leg. "How's that?"
"Fine. Thank you."
Armin has begun sweating and his face is flushed. His breathing increases and he has difficulty speaking. Levi knows exactly what this means. Eren is finally catching on and becomes alert.
He takes a deep breath. "S-So you're Annie's father and you lived with the wall worshippers."
"Yes."
Armin stands up and scoots to the door. "Reiner…. How did you know where this village was? Did you just happen to stumble upon it?"
"Yeah."
"When Annie killed our squad. She was going after Eren. Why?"
Reiner begins to stutter. "She…"
"We figured that you were the one that told her where he was in the formation. Exterminating humanity wasn't the only mission, was it? You said it yourself Mr. Leonhardt. You wouldn't give up so easily when your plans fail."
"What are you getting at Armin?"
"Bertoldt…. You haven't mentioned him at all. You were worried but then you acted as if you'd forgotten about him. Or was avoiding mentioning his name. And your attention suddenly turned to me, right? Gaining my trust was your focus."
"Armin…" Reiner stands up and Eren takes action against the person who couldn't stand only minutes ago. He tackles Reiner to the floor, holding a knife to this neck. They here a click and see that Annie's father is holding a huge shotgun.
"I will avenge my daughter's death and bring humanity to its knees."
Armin pulls out his swords as well, shaking. The gun is pointed towards Levi, who looks thoroughly pissed.
"Armin," Reiner says. "You can come with me. Everything I did. I really wanted to protect you. You have a special place in my heart. I don't want anything bad to happen to you so listen to me and come with me."
"I would never have feelings for someone responsible for the death of everyone I love no matter how much you attempted to redeem yourself."
Reiner's heart lurches with anger. "You kissed me…"
"You think that was for you!? That was to distract you!" Armin's heart is racing as he realizes that time is running low. Where is he? "All of it was to distract you and it worked."
At that very thought, the door breaks off of the hinges. In runs their entire family. The man looks around frantically as Mikasa, Soleanna, Erwin, Christa, and the entire scouting legion flood through the door. Bertoldt enters last and kicks the old man to the floor. Mikasa and Soleanna help Eren with Reiner.
"What's going on? Bertoldt," Reiner says.
Bertholdt can't make eye contact with his brother. "You've been lost for a long time. I realized that there was no way to help you after you started this scheme. I let you continue sneaking out every night to this place and planning against our friends but I couldn't let it continue."
"Let me go!" The old man struggles in Sasha and Connie's clutches.
"You're only tiring yourself out old man," Connie says.
Christa bends to one knee. "Do you know who I am?"
"No! Should I?"
"I am Historia Reiss."
He gasps. "Th-the princess of the walls? It can't be."
"You're a little off. I'm the Queen of humanity."
"H-how…"
"I've got a lot of questions for you, so we won't kill you. Yet."
Ymir covers her mouth with her hand. "She's growing up so fast."
"Neither of us are going to talk," Reiner grunts.
Armin steps up to him. "I wasn't planning on making you talk." He holds his sword up to Reiner's neck. "Bertoldt told me about your betrayal long before we left the walls. He told me about your internal battle at the line of being a human and warrior. He came to the town ahead of us and got the others. We figured there'd be a fight but we weren't expecting the Military Police to actually show up. That was all a ploy. You were responsible for the Military Police who left us stranded but your plan included Bertoldt and you were waiting for him. Lucky for me that you caught feelings or you probably would have let the Military Police have us."
"If you knew all of this," Reiner says. "Why did you go out of the walls to begin with?"
"I didn't want you to reap havoc in the inner walls and I needed you to keep being reckless for my sake."
"I didn't take you as the deceiving type."
Armin places his blade on Reiner's neck, eyebrows furrowed. "You took a beating. You can't change into a titan again. Can you? You weren't planning on something like that happening."
"Armin don't!" Levi calls.
Armin pushes the blade completely through Reiner's throat, never taking his eyes off of those blue ones. `His eyes close and Armin snatches the blade out.
Bertholdt averts his eyes, not able to see the downfall of his brother, the person he betrayed.
The old man starts to laugh softly and it builds into a maniacal cackle. "You think I'm the only one?!"
"No," Mikasa says. "We took care of everyone else in this village."
"W-what do you mean?"
"How about we show you?"
Sasha and Connie stand him up and walk him to the door. Outside are lines of Garrison and Military Police. At their knees with their wrists tied are the villagers. Women, men and children. "We decided killing them would've been a bad idea. Especially since there are kids among them."
3 carriages ride up next to the house.
Inside Erwin signals the group. "Lets round them all up."
Soleanna runs and hugs Armin. "I was really worried about you."
She smiles. "Thank you." Eren is still trying to absorb everything. He wasn't aware of any of this? Was this all really planned?
"Lets go help out, Soleanna." The house begins to empty.
"Let's go, Levi." Eren says.
"You go on." Armin's eyes are still glued to Reiner. Levi limps to Armin. "You lied. You didn't want to reap havoc within the walls? Everything you said was a lie. You believed in him. You were testing him. Seeing if it was true. The same way you did with Annie. The cries weren't fake. The kiss wasn't fake. It was a farewell."
Tears stream down Armin's cheeks. "I didn't think it was true. So many people have betrayed us. I thought he wouldn't. I thought I was right. Levi, what is True Strength?"
"True strength is staying true to yourself and the people around you, while keeping your eyes open to all of the bullshit." Levi says. "The only reason I know the answer to that question is from watching you. It's not something everyone possesses and if someone does then it's only occasional. Eren does sometimes but there are times like these when his real strength falters."
"Did I do the right thing?"
"You tell me." Levi grabs his hand and squeezes.
"No… For once. I want someone to tell me what the right answer is."
"Yes. You did the right thing. Now lets go home. We've got to rule mankind."
With that, the two walk out of the house leaving Reiner's body.
*one month after the incident*
Eren walks out of the door, rubbing sleep from his eyes. He walks down the large stone stairs and into the foyer. Jean is leaning on a pedestal with his arms around Mikasa.
"Did you sleep good?" Jean asks.
"What was that?" Eren says. "I don't speak 'neh'."
Jean is ready to jump at him but Mikasa holds him back. "Just let him be," she smiles. "You know he's joking."
"No I'm not." Eren calls back while turning the corner.
Eren walks out of the doors and stretches. The sun is high in the sky. They've been living in luxury lately. The king's palace is no joke. In front of him is a garden maze. Every hedge is blossoming with the beautiful white flower that has miracle healing remedies.
Things have been going smoothly since everything that happened with Reiner. Eren can't help but reminisce.
The Scouting Legion is now at the top of the totem pole in humanity. Historia's rule is seemless. She is currently hunting for her father and interrogating people. She's grown quite the back bone. Armin and Soleanna are teaching the new Trainee Squad who are coming in as newbies.
With Soleanna's methods, the Scouting Legion has many bases created outside of the walls. Levi and Eren have a personal home next to the very first body of water they found. According to Armin, this one was only a lake.
After going to Eren's basement, the titan's purpose and origin are no longer secrets. The scouting legion are slowly in the process of giving humanity back their freedom after finding out that the titans are….
Hands cover Eren's face and his reminiscing is halted. "Guess who." The deep, uninterested voice says.
"Hmmm. Is that you, Luke?"
Eren feels nails did into his face. "Who the fuck is Luke?"
He laughs and turns around, planting an instant kiss on Levi. He pins him against the pedestal, devouring him. "Good Morning."
"It's well past morning, idiot."
"Right." Eren kisses him more, trailing down his neck.
"I want to go back."
Eren looks up. "What?"
"I want us to go back to the lake house."
"It was beautiful."
"Petra would have liked it." Levi sighs, looking off into the courtyard and gardens. "She would have liked this too."
"Yeah, she would have. I remember her decorating the castle with strange flowers."
Levi raises an eyebrow. "You normally get jealous when I talk about Petra."
Eren rubs his head, thinking about this. "Yeah, I do, but that'd just be stupid now. I have no reason to be jealous because I know that you are mine. You risked your life for me too many times in the past few years." Eren laughs to himself a little. "We actually made it through every crazy thing that happened."
"Now we can focus on humanity."
"Actually," Eren smiles. "Humanity is my second concern." He grabs Levi's hand and pulls him into the spiraling garden. Levi willingly follows behind his spontaneous lover. They come to a sitting area where there is one bench and a stone roof covering it, surrounded by flowers.
Eren sits Levi down and straddles him, putting one knee on the bench. He bites down on his captain's lip, then licks the mark. Eren grabs Levi's hair and pulls it, shoving his tongue into his mouth. Levi accepts the gesture, tasting Eren has he always does.
Despite kissing Eren every day, it feels as if they are kissing for the first time. His heart is throbbing and all he wants is more. He pulls Eren's hips down so that the two can grind against each other.

Levi's eyes shoot to the restraining tool and he starts to sweat. 'How long has he been planning this?' Levi kisses him again, biting his lip this time. "I'm fine."
Eren laughs. "Not bad for a human."
Levi leans up to his ear and whispers as seductively as he can manage. "Brat, I kill titans for a living. Let's not forget that." Levi feels Eren's body shiver in ecstasy. Now's his chance. Levi grabs both of Eren's wrists and pushes him to the ground, pinning him in the grass.
"Yeah, but so do I." Eren rolls Levi over on to his back and yanks his arms over his head. He proceeds to tie up the captain's wrists.
"E-Eren…"
The Shifter pins down Levi's ankles with his legs, completely restraining his lover. Eren starts gently, pulling up his shirt and nipping at his chest. "Levi, they're turned so pink." The Lance bites his tongue, not wanting to make any noise despite how good it feels.
"Yes… you sadistic brat, that's what happens when you bite them!"
Eren traces some of the many scares on his body. His eyes travel up to Levi's face, catching sight of his red cheeks and surprised eyes. "I think I made a lot of these…. So a few more wouldn't hurt."
"What are you-AHHH! Eren stop." He has bitten down on Levi's neck, sucking viciously.
Eren sticks two fingers in Levi's mouth, swiveling them around his tongue and puts another up to his own mouth. "Shhhhh, someone might here you." In all honesty, that's what he was hoping for. Eren unbuttons Levi's pants and yanks them down. His member stands straight up. "See, this part is enjoying it." Eren massages the shafts, using the small pearls of precum as lube.
He takes his fingers out of Levi's mouth and brings them down to his ass. Levi feels one finger at his entrance, massaging gently before it is roughly shoved inside.

"Hey You guys!... Oh." Eren looks up to where the voice came and sees Armin. Armin smiles at him. "Sorry to interrupt, but did you forget about the meeting today, Eren? You have to be there as one of the wall leaders."
Eren huffs. He'd completely forgotten. He removes his fingers, sending a sweet relief through Levi. As his walls relax, all of the captain's newborn anxiety vanishes. Eren tidies himself up. "Thanks for reminding me."
"No problem. Go on. I'll help Levi out."

Eren bends down and gives Levi, still tied up in the grass, a parting kiss. He made the right choice not to untie him just yet. Eren likes having legs. Eren disappears around the corning.
"Armin…. You saved me."
The blond boy laughs, untying Levi's arms. "Don't thank me."

Eren ducks his head around the corner again. "Oh, and Armin, thanks for giving me the rope." He runs away again, giggling.
'That asshole. He waited until I untied him.' Armin makes fearful eye contact with Levi. Slowly in Levi's head, the dots are starting to connect.
"You were in on this."
Armin stands up and slowly creeps back. "I didn't think he'd go all crazy on you, but I stopped him in time."
"You were getting payback." Levi has pulled up his pants and is now stretching his arms. "I'll give you a 20 second head start."
That's all Armin needs to hear, running away at full speed.
Levi shrugs and dashes after him.
"THAT WASN'T 20 SECONDS!"
LLL- This was the last chapter of the story.
Levi- It shouldn't be. We never see if I make it to kill Armin.
Armin- I'm okay with not knowing that.
Levi- You've got 10 seconds to run this time.
