Chapter 10

"I had him kill your original mother." The voice echoed.

"You poor child, what is your family?" the gentle voice asked. Quinn stood looking at the ruble in front of her thinking back of when she had met the older girl who took her in. Vergil walked to her standing next to her looking at the ruble.

"After I ran from that psycho and I was found by Melody I thought I could live a happy life till she was killed in front of me by demons I told myself all demons were bad, you couldn't trust them, they would take everything you loved away." Quinn spoke lowering her head as the breeze moved her blonde locks of hair.

"But I was wrong, humans are just as bad!" Quinn gritted her teeth clenching her fist as the tears ran down her cheek Vergil lowered gaze thinking of the night he lost his mother he could relate to feeling of losing someone close. Quinn wiped her tears away raising her gaze looking ahead she took a step forward only to have her ankle grabbed Quinn gasped looking down to see a hand from under the ruble holding her.

"What the hell!?" Quinn asked Vergil looked over at her wondering as well. Quinn jerked her leg back crouching down removing the debris only to discover the woman who had ruined her childhood.

"You!" Quinn growled annoyed to see this woman still alive.

"The demon…. It's inside of you… how?!" She asked breathing hard looking up at Quinn.

"I captured that demon… I tried to make it join me! Why you…!?" she asked Quinn had a plain expression while she looked down at the dying woman her eye color turning slowly into golden.

"Tell me… why you!? Why…! Why..!" she repeated reaching out to Quinn.

"Who knows…" Quinn replied raising her foot brining it down crushing her head killing her Quinn repeated her action making the blood splatter as Vergil stood watching her he could tell the demon inside of her was leaking through Vergil placed his hand on the hilt of his sword.

"Enough." Vergil ordered Quinn stopped keeping her back turned.

"You need to learn to control your emotions." He advised keeping his cold stare on her.

"That demon inside of you is clearly not going to allow you to take your body back." He informed.

"What do you mean?" Quinn asked turning her body facing Vergil.

"It's waiting for the chance for you to get weak so it can take over." He explained.

"I am not weak!" Quinn growled clenching her fist.

"Is that what you think?" He glared.

"You don't know anything!" She yelled sprinting at him bringing her fist down to the ground breaking it Vergil jumped back annoyed.

"Fool." He insulted Quinn stood panting the dust around her keeping her from seeing where he had gone.

"Weak…"

"You're so weak…"

"Little girl…" the voice echoed in her mind Quinn shut her eyes shaking her head trying to get them out.

"No…"

"Stop…"

"I'm not… I'm not!" Quinn yelled opening her eyes, they glowed a bright golden color as a smile cracked on her face.

"Too Easy." The demon grinned looking over at Vergil.

"It's pointless you know, humans are weak they let silly words get the best of them." The demon smiled. Vergil slide his jacket off tossing it aside followed by his scarf. The demon stood confused a moment till he quickly appeared in front punching her in the face the demon slide back grinning from the hit the blood trickling from her nose.

"You're not holding back!" the demon laughed amused by the hit.

"That stupid girl." Vergil thought to himself trying to figure out a way to get her back; Quinn floated in the isolated area as the darkness around her began to reach her slowly consuming her.

"What is this…?" She asked her eyes barely open.

"What are you doing!? Don't let them win…!" the voice spoke Quinn raised her gaze looking around to see nothing.

"I'm so tired… I just want to rest…" Quinn replied slowly closing her eyes.

"Don't!" the voice yelled.

Vergil stumbled back wiping the blood from his lip he was out of breathe and tired out from his fist fight his white hair falling in front of her eyes staring back at Quinn who was also covered in blood and dirt.

"Damn." Vergil cursed; Quinn now had most of the darkness consuming her she opened her eyes slowly looking around.

"Where am I…? No… it doesn't matter…" Quinn told herself not caring.

"You can't just give up!" the voice yelled Quinn kept her gaze down listening to the voice.

"I want to die…" Quinn replied till everything around her went black; Vergil stood in front of the demon his fist to her gut the demon stood mouth open wide eye as the demon stumbled back holding her stomach falling to her knees.

"Damn it…" the demon cursed falling forward losing conscious.

Quinn shot open her eyes panting she laid on the bed starting up at the ceiling she raised her hand looking at it as it shook.

"When…?" Quinn closed her eyes her eyes filling with tears as she brought her hand down over her eyes Quinn gritted her teeth frustrated with herself.

"When…. did I become weak?!" Quinn cried till the door opened Quinn kept her eyes covered she could hear the footsteps approaching her bedside and stop.

"I don't recall you being this weak." Vergil commented Quinn flinched to hear his words sting her pride.

"Shut up, you don't know anything." Quinn growled as she sat up from the bed wiping the tears away.

"I don't have to know anything to see you are letting the demon inside of you make of fool of you." Vergil commented.

"The way you fall for its tricks." He insulted Quinn began to trembled with anger she quickly turned her body ready to slap Vergil only to have her hand caught.
