AN: Here's another long overdue chapter. I haven't forgot this story. It's been on my mind for a long time. I've got a lot of time on my hands now so I can actually write. :) Anyway, enjoy.
Annabeth and Percy stared at the cliff, not knowing what to do next. They were in the middle of a construction pit. The shouts of the guards were getting closer and Percy kept thinking 'I'm gonna get caught. I'm gonna get caught' over and over in his head. The palace guards burst out of the tunnel exit.
"Who's that?" Annabeth asked.
"They don't like me." Percy said, kind of freaking out. The Stoll brothers burst out of a separate tunnel below them.
"Who's that?"
"They don't like me either."
"Who's that?" Annabeth exclaimed as a furious Blackjack crashed through the soldiers.
"Let's just assume for the moment, that everyone here doesn't like me!"
Annabeth sighed and thrust her frying pan into Percy's arms. She swung her hair and looped it around a horizontal post above the construction pit. She swung across and landed on a platform. Percy frowned at her leaving without him, then faced Jason as he heard a sword being drawn.
"I've waited a long time for this." Jason snarled, "cousin." He whispered, showing an excited, but menacing, smile.
Jason swung his sword at Percy, but Percy held up the frying pan and blocked. He proceeded to knock Jason and the entire battalion that was after him unconscious.
"Oh mama, I have got to get me one of these!" Percy said hefting the pan in his hand a few times. "Hah!" He exclaimed when Blackjack came up to him with a sword in his mouth pointed at him. Percy smiled in amusement. But it turned out, Blackjack was a better swords-horse than any of the soldiers. They fought and neither could gain the upper hand.
"You should know that this is the strangest thing I have ever done!" Percy cried out while fighting. Blackjack then twisted his sword and sent the pan over the cliffside. "How about two out of three?" Percy said then put his hands up as Blackjack thrust the sword at him.
"Percy!" He heard Annabeth call. Hair was wrapped around his hand, and he was pulled off of the cliff, screaming at the top of his lungs. He got a good grip on the hair and swung like a monkey. He passed the Stoll brothers and laughed.
"You should see your faces, 'cause you look-" He swung straight into the edge of a platform "ridiculous." He groaned. He fell off the platform and lost his grip on Annabeth's hair. He ended up surfing down the water half-pipe and landing right next to Annabeth.
"Come on Wise Girl!" Percy called, gathering up her trailing hair. The water half-pipe had collapsed thanks to Percy's surfing and ended up tumbling a huge stone pillar. Not only did it collapse a pillar, it caused the dam to break and a tidal wave to fill the construction pit. The pillar was falling, right towards Percy and Annabeth. They dashed towards a tunnel, narrowly avoiding the falling pillar. But the tunnel was blocked by a cave in, so there was no way out. The blocked tunnel began filling up with water. Percy tried to pry the stones away from the ceiling, but ended up slicing his hand on a sharp rock. He then dove down as Annabeth tried to bang the ceiling. He came up panting.
"It's no use, I can't see anything." Percy said. By now the water had almost reached the ceiling. There was just enough room for them to still talk for a few minutes. Annabeth decided to swim down and see, but Percy stopped her. "Hey, there's no point, it's pitch black down there." He said, holding her shoulders. They both paused.
"This is all my fault. She was right, I never should have done this." Annabeth said, tears welling up in her eyes. "I'm so..I'm so sorry Percy."
'I need to tell her the truth.' Percy thought. "Perseus." Percy said simply. Annabeth gave him a confused look. "My real name is Prince Perseus of Atlantis. Someone ought to know." Annabeth chuckled slightly.
"I have magic hair that glows when I sing." Annabeth said.
"What?" Percy said.
"I have magic hair that glows when I sing!" Annabeth said, realizing the fullest extent of what she said. "flower gleam and glow, let your power shine." She sang quickly as the water rose past their faces. Annabeth's hair started glowing and lit up the cavern. They followed the water flow and Percy started to pull the rocks apart. The glow faded as he pulled, and his air was almost spent.
'Come on. Come on. Just a little longer Percy.'
AN: Ooh, cliffhanger! Well, if, you've seen Tangled, not so much. So I know that in the movie Rapunzel calls Flynn, Eugene for the rest fo the movie, but I'm just gonna have her still call Percy, Percy. Just for my own sanity. :)
