Everyone might not believe this, but Lanes was the one that got me to talk when I was a kid... I was so scared from Trina when I was little, I always tried my best to keep everything on the safe side thanks to knowing my sister would destroy the town if she wanted in ten seconds. But Lanabeth Jude Penn changed that about me.. She was the one that turned me into the 'Outgoing, rocking, amazing, hyper, sweet' (At least that's what Mayor Mellow described me as) young man I am today. Lanes been my best friend sense I was a kid, even if her brother Lenny is one of our band enemies. She knows when I'm scared, why I could be scared, my weaknesses, my strengths, and everything I like or dislike... That's most likely I've had a crush on her sense I was eight. I figured I would tell her at the Summer Blast party that Mayor Mellow is having tomorrow, that way I could tell her though a song I've written a while back, and yes I wrote a song. I know, it kinda freaked me out too when I found my self writing it. But anyway, I'm telling her tomorrow, and nothing is going to get in my way.

ALRIGHT SOMETHING GOT IN MY WAY! What if she doesn't like it? Or like me back? I forgot about those two simple questions! "Guys! What if Lanes doesn't like the song? Or like me back because of it? I don't want to lose her or anything!" Kin put a smile on his face. "Trust me Corey, Laney would love anything that comes from you, and me and Kon both know she likes you back... And we knew that for a LONG while." I took a few deep breathes to came down. I was about to ask Kin what he meant on the last sentence but the 'Alarm Dude' pushed us onto the curtained stage before I could. "Two minutes! Set up kids!" Weird how people still call us kids even if we're all 16. I rolled my eyes and plugged in my guitar to the amp as the twins hurried with they're instruments. I held the guitar in a death grip, like it was the only thing I had, and stared at the curtain like I was burning a hole into it. I wanted to get this down with, I wanted to just tell Laney how I felt before someone took her away, and lastly, I wanted to go talk to her. I never seen her all day because the twins wanted to make sure the only three person gig we played would be perfect. They told me she would be here though. After the curtains raised and I seen Lanes, I smiled and loosened my grip on my guitar's neck. "Hey everyone! I'm Corey Riffin and we're Grojband!" Everyone cheered after that. "I've written this song for a special girl that turned me into who I am today. I hope she likes it." I started playing my guitar after that and looked out to Lanes so she would know it was for her before I started singing.

After the curtains fell again I unplugged my guitar and went back stage to put it away when I seen Lanes back there waiting for us. "Guys! That was awesome! Didn't know you could write Core." I laughed a little after putting my guitar in my case. "I know, I didn't either." We laughed a little before she decided to hug me. "Thanks for performing and writing that about me Core." I blushed thanks to this. "And Core?" "Yeah Lanes?" She kissed my cheek quickly. "I'm crazy for you too."
