Hi! I'm back! (finally- that took way longer than I expected) Thanks for all the views, faves, follows, reviews and feedback in general this story has gotten so far. You all are so kind! :)
Okay, so this is a sort of big chapter. Changing seasons on the mainland- yay! So in the end of the first movie and the beginning of TB& the Great Fairy Rescue, they have little clips of the fairies changing the seasons with a song in the background. Obviously, music-video-type scenes don't work for Fanfics. I'm still trying to capture the same sort of magical feeling that those scenes had.
If she hadn't been so tired, Elsa probably would have jumped up and down with joy at the scene surrounding her. They'd gotten up early, even by Anna's standards. In fact, it was still the middle of the night, and the only reason it wasn't pitch black in the moonlight-deprived woods was because of the light coming from countless fairies and trails of Pixie Dust.
Fairies of all talents were gathered together. Additionally, mice such as Cheese had pulled carts of supplies there and were now mingling among the fairies, trying to get pats or ear-scratches from the fairies as they waited for their carts to be unloaded. The supplies included a couple dozen snow-machines the tinkers had made in the weeks since the Arendelle fiasco, winter clothes for all the warm weather fairies, as well as tents, food, and edible Pixie Dust in case it became a multiple-day event. With Elsa's help, it was unlikely it would take multiple days, but it was better safe the sorry. Needless to say, there was quite a lot of cargo.
All the supplies were being loaded into baskets large enough to hold a couple fairies. Once they were packed, the baskets would either be strapped to the backs of the dozens of snowy owls standing a little bit away, or carried in their talons. The snowy owls had been trained not to eat the fairies' mice, but ten or so animal-talents were standing between the two parties to keep things safer for the mice It was mainly the owls they had to worry about, since the mice were naturally keeping well away from their predators.
Unlike doves, which carried the fairies' supplies during other seasons, some of the owls weren't too keen on having baskets strapped to their backs, or maybe they were trying to get revenge for not being able to eat the delicious mice in front of them. They kept puffing out their chests so the straps wouldn't fit around, and had to be coaxed into cooperating by the animal-talents.
After what seemed like an eternity to Elsa and Anna, the baskets were all packed and all the fairies and owls were ready. Lord Milori and Queen Clarion both sat upon Milori's steed, Mama Owl, who was only distinguishable from the other owls because of the jeweled necklace she wore.
Neither of the fairy rulers would be going to the mainland, in case they needed to force the second star to the right open with Peter and Hook, but that wouldn't stop them from seeing their fairies and sparrow-men off. The Minister of Winter would be leading the group, and neither Elsa nor Anna had seen her before.
The Minister of Winter, a tall slender fairy with a crystallized ice dress and white hair formed in a weird icicle-like Mohawk, had her own owl. Although Lord Milori ruled the Winter Woods, she was in charge of bringing Winter to the mainland. It was she who ultimately decided to have Elsa help. Others were a little wary of this decision, seeing as Elsa had inadvertently caused the whole Arendelle storm fiasco in the first place, but the Minister of Winter hadn't changed her mind.
Of course, having Anna and Elsa help change the seasons went against Peri and Tink's new system of not treating them like permanent members of Pixie Hollow. But seeing as they'd turn back into humans after this trip, they doubted there was much harm in letting them feel like real fairies again. It was just a sort of grand finale to their whole fairy experience.
Peri had claimed dibs on the largest owl she could find- its back was quite roomy, but with her, Tink, Anna, Elsa riding, as well the basket strapped to it, it was still a rather snug fit. They settled down into its feathers and leaned back against the basket.
Finally, they were ready. The Minister of Winter called out "To the mainland!" They felt the owl's wings flap as all the birds lifted off the ground in unison with the countless glowing dots of light. Once they rose past the treetops, the moonlight lit everything in what seemed to be the perfect way- dark enough to still be night, but bright enough to see (and for fears of the dark to become irrelevant).
Elsa and Anna were on their hands and knees, soaking up everything around them in awe (they had become much more awake after getting their daily allotment of Pixie Dust). Unable to sit still, they flew off the owl's back and weaved among the other fairies and owls. Eventually, they broke a bit away from the group. The fairies appeared as glowing balls of light, like tiny stars, and it looked like many invisible hands were drawing the trails of Pixie Dust all throughout the night sky. This was without a doubt the most beautiful and magical thing they'd seen with their fairy eyes.
They went back to weaving in and out of the group, playing a game of tag as the went. As they flew past the owl that Tink, Peri and now Fawn were riding, Peri bombarded Elsa with a flurry of snow. Elsa had just started to retaliate and begin a full out snow duel when the Minister of Winter told them to cut it out and save their talents for the mainland.
Peri reluctantly stopped, sulking just a bit since she didn't like being treated like a child being told to wait for dessert. Elsa, being a child, was used to being treated like one, and was also used to having to hold her magic off until later. It wasn't too bad for her, since she liked the Minister's reason for stopping a lot more than her parents' usual "reason" of not liking her magic.
Elsa and Anna settled down on top of the basket on their owl's back, thrilled to be sitting higher up than their three fairy friends and mentors, and having a better view. At an earlier time, Tink probably would have told them to get back on the owl's back since the basket was too dangerous and they could fall off, but right now she just shrugged it off. They weren't Clumsies anymore. At least they hadn't gone for the basket hanging from the owl's talons, which swung around like crazy and was out of her sight (besides, if they fell off the basket, they wouldn't have to worry about them falling to their death since they could fly).
The flight to the Second Star took longer than it had when Elsa went back to Arendelle. For one thing, the fairies flew around the sky first, instead of going directly there. Not to mention, it was easier to get there quickly alone or in small groups than with a bunch of other fairies and owls. The slower members slowed the whole group down.
To Elsa and Anna, however, it felt like no time since they were so absorbed with gawking over the owl's back at the scenery around them. Pretty much everything they laid their eyes upon was amazing. Although they wanted to help change the seasons, neither felt very anxious to get there, and would have been content with being on this trip for a couple hours. Maybe it was because they were with most of the fairies from Pixie Hollow, but Elsa and Anna knew this flight was really special. Why rush it?
Regardless of this, they arrived at the Second Star to the Right. Pretty soon, they were swooping through the tunnel (fortunately, there was no eerie singing from the star this time). They popped out and Elsa and Anna gazed around, recognizing a large clock tower. "I've been here!" They both shrieked, gasping. A wing-beat later, they turned and looked at each other suspiciously. "When were you here?" They asked each other simultaneously, to which both of them answered with something along the lines of "I popped out here trying to get to Arendelle."
There was a beat of silence as each girl realized the other had said almost exactly what she'd said, and then they both started laughing. "So you guys popped out in other places before reaching Arendelle, too?" Elsa asked, glad that it hadn't just been her. "Yeah! We must have popped out in hundreds of places!" Anna exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air for emphasis. Elsa stuck her tongue out and replied playfully "Oh yeah? Well I popped out in thousands of places!"
Peri smiled at the exchange. Seconds later, Anna was clambering to know where they were. Tink proceeded to explain about the mainland and London, and how it was part of a larger place called England, but it was clear Elsa and Anna had never heard of England before. Nobody from Arendelle had (likewise, nobody in England had heard of Arendelle). It was exciting, being in a place nobody back home knew about; then again, Neverland fell under that category too.
The Minister of Winter called out "Fairies to the North! Fairies to the South! To the East and West!", just like every other Minister said when changing all the other seasons.
All the owls landed on or partially in the humongous clock tower, which Tink said was named Big Ben. The owl they were riding landed in a window by the belfry where the bell was. Forgetting why they were there, Tink flew in. She was quite drawn to it, since her tinker-talent made her want to figure out how the whole clock worked. Plus, she just had a thing with bells, probably because the word bell was in her name, and she sounded like tiny bells to almost every Clumsy.
She admired the bell from every angle, including flying up inside it, before she started inspecting the rope it was attached to. Once that started to bore her, she caught sight of stairs and started to explore before she could stop herself.
She flew down a couple staircases and arrived at one of the clock faces, twirling around in delight. Each clock face was lit by hundreds of lights, and she was fairly certain a fairy could blend in quite easily, since from a distance they looked a lot like fairy glows. She'd never been inside the clock before, which was almost shameful. As a tinker-fairy, this was probably the coolest thing on the mainland, even better than cars. She flew around and around, passing the four clock faces numerous times, her laughter heard only by her.
Just as she was about to go poke around and try to find the actual mechanics of the clock, someone grabbed her and stopped her flight. It was Peri. She simply dragged her sister back up the flights of stairs and out the window their owl had landed in.
Tink crossed her arms and glared at Peri as she was pulled out. "Come on," the frost-fairy told her "We're all waiting for you." Indeed Elsa and Anna, as well as a bunch of other friends were hovering around expectantly.
"Last one to the garden is a rotten egg!" Fawn shouted, zipping to the West, past Rosetta and Iridessa. The others chased her to what Clumsies called Kensington Gardens, though the fairies didn't have a name for it. Naturally, Vidia beat them all there, though Elsa was just a couple seconds behind her. Peri tried to copy what Elsa was doing, but the only wind she could make was the small amount of it that shot her snowflakes forward when she made them. Then again, making wind was part of the fast-flying-talent, not the frost-talent. But then why did Elsa have both? She already had a better deal than any of the winter fairies because her powers were a lot stronger.
The fairies touched down on the grass, which was taller than they were in some parts. Some owls that Fawn had whistled for landed shortly after, and Tink and Fawn started unstrapping baskets from their backs. The owls looked quite glad to be rid of their burdens and swooped away as soon as they were free, casting reproachful looks down at them.
"All right!" Peri clapped her hands together and rubbed them, making a thin layer of ice on her hands "Let's start bringing Winter here!" She started to make a snowball between her hands, but the other fairies (minus Anna and Elsa) interrupted her. "Hold it! You can't just start with the snow and ice! We need to do our parts first."
"Oh, right. I kinda forgot about that." Peri said sheepishly. She squashed the snowball in her hand and tiny chunks of snow fell to the ground. Taking her cue from Peri, Elsa didn't start using her magic yet. Instead, the two of them stayed together and watched the others work.
Rosetta opened one of the baskets, and upon seeing it was full of acorns, said "Now these are from some of my best trees. Fawn, you know what to do." Cheerfully, Fawn answered "Right-o!" and beckoned for Anna to follow her to the basket. They both scooped up as many acorns as they could carry, and flew towards the nearest tree. "All right," Fawn said, seeing the look in Anna's eyes "We're going to top off the squirrels' nut stashes. We are not going to start another acorn war."
Anna looked quite disappointed at this news. Fawn smiled as they reached a hole in the tree trunk. She poked her head in, saw a pile of acorns, pulled her head back out and continued "We can still have fun! Watch." She threw one of her acorns into the air and sent it flying into the hole with a spinning kick. Anna grinned and heaved all three of her acorns at the hole. Only one of them made it, and the other two plummeted back to earth.
Once Anna had retrieved the acorns, they agreed to only have one acorn in the air at a time. Anna threw her remaining two in from only six inches away. Terence and Zarina, who didn't have anything to do now that all the fairies and sparrow-men had their daily allotment of Pixie Dust, had managed to make the basket float but have the acorns in it continue to follow the laws of gravity. They stayed and watched as Anna and Fawn threw, kicked and even head-butted acorns into the tree.
The other fairies heard the shouts, cheers and groans. They glanced up a lot, especially when they heard Fawn pretending to be a commentator for the Pixie Hollow Games, hamming it up for Anna, saying things like "And if Anna gets this shot, she'll defeat the garden-talents! She's readying! She's aiming! She's firing annnd she SCORES! THE ANIMAL-TALENTS HAVE WON THE PIXIE HOLLOW GAMES!"
Elsa, wanting to be included in the fun, flew up to where her laughing sister hovered. She started throwing and kicking acorns in too, before trying to blow them in with her icy wind. Pretty soon, all their other friends abandoned their work and joined them, and it escalated into a whole pretend version of the Pixie Hollow Games, full of cheering and jeering and playful trash talk, with Fawn continuing to be the commentator.
Rosetta was especially into it, trying to win back the title of champion from Anna, who had stolen in their imaginations. Rosetta and Chloe had worked so hard for that title in the real Pixie Hollow Games, and she wasn't about to let Anna just claim it that easily, even if it was just pretend.
They eventually realized they'd all gotten majorly distracted, so they went back to work. Fairies enjoyed using their talents, especially for changing the seasons, so nobody really minded. Silvermist used her water-talent to make all the water still, so it would be easier to freeze. It looked like she was turning the water into a mirror, and Elsa kept flying over it to see the reflections of the stars. Rosetta went around checking the plants and trees, while Iridessa, who didn't have to do anything with light just yet, helped. Elsa had asked Iridessa to make rainbows, since everybody loved sliding down them (Elsa and Anna had once spent a fun-filled afternoon doing just that). But winter wasn't supposed to have rainbows, so that idea was shot down.
Anna and Fawn finished distributing all the acorns and started making sure all the animals were ready to hibernate. This consisted of coaxing any stragglers into their burrows or dens and trying to get them to sleep- Anna did this by singing lullabies. One time, Fawn left squirrel hole in a tree, only to realize Anna wasn't with her. She flew back and found Anna snuggling up with a bunch of baby squirrels. Even with Anna in her adult body, it was pretty adorable. Just for a second, Fawn joined them. Wondering why Anna liked squirrels so much (she had spent a lot of her time as an animal-talent fairy with them), she called a rather reluctant Anna out. Anna had looked about to doze off, but once she was flying again she was as alert as ever.
Dawn broke, and Elsa and Peri continued waiting, and helping when they could, but were anxious for their turn. Finally, all the warm fairies had finished and were donning their winter gear. Gliss and Spike were now with them, and the four of them prepared to bring Winter to the park they were in.
Aside from Tink, whose wings were now immune to the cold, none of the warm fairies could fly in cold weather, and their wings had to be frosted. Iridessa had tried using her light-talent to make it warm enough for them to fly within a certain radius of her, but it was too draining. So the warm-fairies were stuck riding snowy owls or walking. After frosting all the warm-fairies' wings (besides Tink), they began.
Peri landed on the water Silvermist had stilled, and she started to freeze the surface, gliding around in a way that looked like dancing while ice formed behind her. Elsa touched down beside her and instantly froze a good portion of the lake, just like when she would freeze Arendelle Castle's throne room floor with a single stomp.
Seeing Peri's dismayed look, Elsa let her finish the rest. Elsa decided to frost some trees and it only took a matter of seconds to frost each one, just like in the Winter Woods. Even though her magic was really powerful, there was still a lot of ground to cover. This winter was progressing much slower than the one she'd accidentally made in the woods back in Arendelle. Since her magic wasn't feeding on fear like it had been then, it wasn't nearly as strong and she had to consciously think about doing everything now. Additionally, the way the snow and ice was forming was a lot calmer than the frantic way it had formed when the Duke's guards were chasing her.
Meanwhile, Tink was feeding a basket of snowflakes the fairies had made back in Neverland into one of the snow-machines, which blew them around realistically and made a small flurry. Vidia used her wind to blow them throughout the whole park. Iridessa made the sunlight sparkle off the snow in a magical way. Elsa flew to the edges of the garden and started to work on "winterifying" the city, as she liked to call it. This was harder, as the terrain was obviously less even and there were so many nooks and crannies to cover.
Peri, Spike, and Gliss finished the gardens and joined her. Soon, the three were flying through the streets of London, winterifying everything they passed. Elsa was amazed with the things she saw here, especially cars and electric lights.
They passed other winter fairies doing the same thing quite frequently. A couple hours after sunrise, the whole place was bustling with Clumsies. The fairies flew higher, as to not hit anybody, and stopped freezing things and focused on just making it snow, since that looked more natural. The owls remained decently hidden among the falling snow. Often, Clumsy children looked up and delighted in seeing them, and the fairies waved at their awestruck admirers, knowing how it felt to be Prilla. There was even one lady who stared at them and then shook her head, as if scolding herself for imagining things.
The day continued in a similar fashion, and Elsa loved exploring the city while winterifying it. By nightfall, they had successfully brought winter to the mainland. Everybody had had a blast, especially Peri, who'd gotten to use her complete talent, and Elsa and Anna, who thought it might have been the most fun they'd had as fairies, since they felt so important. All the fairies regrouped at Big Ben, and Tink darted in again. Peri and Elsa followed her, and Fawn coaxed the owls she rode with the others to do so too. It was warm enough inside the clock for the warm-fairies to defrost their wings (with some help from Iridessa) and fly.
After flying down a couple staircases, they found Tink watching all the gears and pendulums that somehow made the clock work. They had no clue how it worked, and even Tink found it slightly difficult to keep track of what every part did. Tink actually flew among the mechanics, dodging weights and getting rather close to the grinding gears as she examined them. This was somewhat dangerous, but she fortunately wasn't hurt.
Somehow, a game of tag started (probably by either Elsa or Anna), and soon all the friends were flying around the inside of the faces of the clock, playing a very unorganized game of tag in which everybody seemed to be it and not it at the same time. Their fun was cut short when the Minister of Winter told them to get out.
Peri and Elsa frosted everybody's wings again, and the warm-fairies mounted their owls. The moonlight and starlight glistened off the snow, and Elsa and Anna looked down at the mainland as they flew towards the Second Star to the Right. They could hardly believe they'd changed it so much since the previous night.

"Are you all ready for this?" Tink asked the others in her house the next day. Peri nodded silently and Elsa and Anna gave verbal replies. All four of them were looking at the box Tink was holding, which had the wand inside. "All right, come on." Tink said "We're going outside."
"Why?" Tink sighed and answered over her shoulder "Because if you two turn back into Clumsies in here, you'll blow my whole house apart!" She was actually glad the wand hadn't reversed Anna's wish last time, because she'd totally forgotten about that.
They flew to a nice, private meadow in the autumn section of Pixie Hollow (seeing as they'd just changed the seasons from autumn to winter on the mainland, there wasn't really any reason for anybody else to be there). Tink settled down on the grass and leaves and cleared her mind of wishes before taking the wand out of the box.
She had almost drugged the wand with "Happy Dust" before leaving, hoping it would be more generous this time if it was bordering ecstasy. "We're going to reverse the wish that turned two little girls into fairies." She said mentally. Hopefully the wand had forgotten about its stupid deal of reversing all the wishes or none.
"Remember, it's all or none, dear." The wand answered in that sickening singsong that it knew Tink hated. Well, so much for that... Tink sighed and said, out loud "Reverse them all, then."
Peri had been expecting this, but she was still sad to hear it. Light formed around her, Anna and Elsa. They all closed their eyes for protection.
Peri opened her eyes and saw a portion of a human arm. She looked up and it was Anna, back in her five-year-old body. So it had reversed all the wishes. Except Elsa and Anna were only wearing underwear- for some reason, the wand hadn't even bothered to give them their pajamas back. They had to fix that immediately.
Tink, claiming she knew where to find Clumsy-sized clothes, flew off to get some. Peri, meanwhile, told Elsa to start using her powers, which led them to discover that Elsa couldn't understand fairies. Once Anna, who wasn't too thrilled with being stuck as a fairy interpreter again (although she had liked it before, it had become very annoying) translated for Elsa, Elsa did so and Peri felt her talent leave.
She picked up the wand and said the exact same words she'd said before "Without taking anything away from Elsa or me, or our talents, make me able to use my talent at the same time Elsa uses her talent. Make my talent unaffected by Elsa's, so that mine won't grow weaker if Elsa's grow stronger, or the other way around."
Hoping against hope, she waved the wand and wished her wish again.
Well, that's chapter 24! I hope you all liked it! (it turned out way longer than I thought, but I don't think it dragged on or anything) I personally liked the first part about Tink and Big Ben- I've seen Big Ben, by the way :) I hadn't even planned it, or even thought of it, but it just sort of came out and I thought it was a keeper. I did a little research and added terms like 'belfry', which I certainly didn't know!
So in this chapter I hope I captured the feel of Tink changing the seasons in the first TB movie. Did I? Oh, and I felt the last scene fit better in this chapter than in the next one.
Also, I forget whether or not I had the Minister of Winter in this fic yet, but I had to look her up online. I hadn't even remembered her gender at first, so it's a good thing I did. Also, I had forgotten her appearance, although now that I think about it, she was in the Tinkerbell DS game part of The Models Resource (if you're interested, just google The Models Resource, which is a 3d model site- the Tinkerbell ones are .obj format).
Oh, so I recently remembered that Tink's house is actually a teapot or tea-kettle. I forget how I described her house in this story- I looked back in my documents but couldn't find it- but I'm hoping I described it correctly.
So I'm really hoping to update a lot (and maybe even finish this story since we're getting sort of close to the end) over the next couple weeks, since I'm going to have lots of time :) And I had the rest of the story planned ages ago, even down to small details, so I might be able to do it! So hang in there for the next chapter, a lot of stuff is going to happen in the next couple chapters.
