Chapter 2

The twins walked into the choir room where Glee Club was happening with no idea what to expect. They had never been a part of a glee club or a singing club. Sure they both had sung in their previous school's chorus, and have been reigning champs at their cheerleading camps singing competitions, but they had never been apart of something so strictly dedicated to music like a glee club.

When they entered the choir room they found another person already sitting in one of the chairs. It was a girl with dark skin, a beautiful smile, and wild dark curls, who Mason recognized from her US History class, she particularly had caught his eye because Mason found her to be very pretty. They sat down next to her, and quickly introduced themselves. "I'm Mason McCarthy, and this is my twin sister Madison, and we are new here this year." The pretty girl smiled, shook their hands and introduced herself, "Jane Hayward, new here as well." "Hey at least we are all new together!" Madison said enthusiastically.

A few minutes later Roderick came into the quietly, with his headphones around his neck, and eyes glued to the floor yet again. Madison could already tell by his actions that he was a shy guy, so she thought she would try to make him more comfortable. "Roderick! Hey!" She said cheerfully. He blushed and looked taken aback, as if he was surprised that she would remember her. "Hi, Madison?" He said questionly, and Madison nodded her head. Mason nudged her in the elbow as to get her to introduce him. "Mason, Jane, This is Roderick East, he's in my Calculus and History Class, he is also new this year." Madison explained. The other two nodded and said hello, and he mumbled back a hello.

There wasn't even a chance for an awkward silence because suddenly a tall, pale, skinny boy and a short, tan, tiny girl can into the room. "Hello everyone, and welcome to Glee Club!" The brunette said enthusiastically. The boy then piped up, "I'm Kurt Hummel and this is Rachel Berry, and we are alumni of this school and glee club. We are so excite to be your leaders for this year!" Everyone cheered excitedly. "Now we want to get a feel of the voices in here and we would like everyone to prepare a song for us, and then sing it for us on Friday!" Rachel said excitedly. Mason and Madison looked at each other, and both hands shot up. "Yes?" Kurt asked, and the twins, in sync, asked, "Can we sing together?" Kurt and Rachel looked at each other and then Rachel replied, "Sure, that's fine, as long as each of you have a part where you sing solo." Mason and Madison looked at each other excitedly, knowing that they had picked the right elective.

That night the twins were trying to figure what song they were going to sing that was going to wow Rachel, Kurt, and the fellow members.

Finally after hours of discussion, they finally reached a decision; 'Home' by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. They were pumped, to share their love for singing to the club, and on Friday they were the first ones to go, by volunteering of course. Next Jane went, and Mason was blown away by her voice, but nobody was more blown away than by Roderick's voice when he sang 'Mustang Sally' by Wilson Pickett. His voice was simply incredible and a shock because it came from such a quiet guy, but yet his voice was powerful and loud.

By then end of all the songs both Kurt and Rachel were on their feet, clapping and cheering for all of them. "Wow guys so much talent we have! Those were all great, and I think we are going to have a great year!" Rachel squealed, clapping her hands together excitedly.

As they walked out, Jane caught up with the two, "You two have amazing voices and you sounded great out there!" The two smiled and Mason replied, "Thanks Jane, your voice is incredible." Jane blushed and smiled, "Thanks Mason, I have to go but I'll see you two on Monday!" She said and quickly scurried off. Madison had a smirk on her face, and Mason nudged her in the ribs, "What?" he questioned. "You like her." Madison said knowingly, a smirk spreading on her face. Mason blushed and playfully shoved her. "Hey!" She laughed shoving him back. He tagged her, and took off, and she ran after him, trying to catch him.

On Monday, the two were at their first official Cheerios practice. All meetings last week had been strictly for the new members and were basically information sessions, teaching Cheerio rules, dos/don'ts, policies, and some basic cheers. The two were very excited for their first official practice.

Both had on their Cheerios uniforms and Madison had her hair up in a high, curled ponytail. They arrived on the field to find many Cheerios already there and warming up and talking happily to each other. After they had stretched for a few minutes, the twins noticed that everyone suddenly became silent. They looked around to see what happened when they saw a middle aged, tall woman, with short blonde hair and a bright red tracksuit on. Madison soon realized that it was their coach, Sue Sylvester. "It's her." Madison whispered into Mason's ear, and his face nodded, finally understanding the sudden silence that washed over everyone. "Okay lazy girls, let's get started." She ordered, and practice officially began.

An hour and a half later, practice ended and everyone shuffled out. As Madison picked up her bag, she saw someone staring at her. It looked like a football player but she didn't recognize him. She felt self-conscious and gathered her stuff quickly, and urged Mason to get going.

This staring lasted for a few weeks, but yet neither Madison or the mystery man had approached each other yet. One day when she was grabbing her textbooks out of her locker, someone approached her. "Hi." Madison whipped around to come face to face with the mystery guy. "H-hi." Madison replied shyly. "My name is Tom. I've seen you around when I'm at football practice and you are at cheerleading." He said. Madison smiled, "Yeah I recognize you." Tom smiled smugly, "Well would you like to go out sometime?" He asked confidently. "S-sure." Madison stuttered feeling completely flustered. The two exchanged phone numbers, and made plans. "So cool, I'll see you around." He said before walking off.
