Well, I'm back. Thanks for all the reviews, favs, follows and plain views this story has gotten so far. I kind of hate myself for not updating by Wednesday (aka in a week) like I said I would. But on the bright side, I'm really proud of this.

Well, enjoy. I loved writing it :)

Anna was stunned when Elsa ran away. She stood utterly nonplussed for a couple moments. Why would Elsa run away when asked to ride a bike? Or maybe she was playing hide-and-seek? By the time she snapped out of her stupor, Elsa was nowhere to be seen. She looked without success, and then asked her mom if she'd seen Elsa. Her mom's response was that if Elsa was avoiding her, that meant she wanted some alone time, so that meant don't bother her.

Sighing gloomily, Anna headed towards her room. She passed their bike in the hall, but she didn't feel like riding it anymore. It wouldn't be the same without Elsa. Upon reaching their bedroom, Anna was disappointed to see Elsa wasn't there, though she hadn't really been expecting it.

Grudgingly, she gave up and spent the day playing alone. The next day, she found where Elsa's hideout was. Elsa had run away when Anna asked if she wanted to jump off the swings (which almost always resulted in piles of snow appearing to cushion their falls). Anna hadn't caught up in time to stop her from hiding, but she'd seen which room her sister went into. The five-year-old knocked on the door of the guest bedroom Elsa had locked herself in, but the only response she got was a "go away, Anna."

Days went by and Elsa pretty much hid in that room most of the time, much to her sister's annoyance. Elsa had moved some of her favorite toys and books into the room to pass the long hours avoiding Anna. Often, she would hear the sound of their bike crashing down the stairs. Just the thought of being on that bike would cause a layer of frost to appear on whatever Elsa happened to be touching at the time. But nothing truly worrying occurred- nobody got hurt by her magic, at any rate.

The sisters weren't completely separated, however. They still saw each other at meals and even still shared their bedroom, though Elsa didn't let Anna crawl in bed with her anymore. When Elsa locked herself in the guest bedroom for fear of her magic coming out and hurting Anna again, they even sometimes played cards or verbal games through the crack under the door- once Elsa calmed down that is. (Elsa had noticed her magic really only came out during physical games involving danger or roughhousing, or if she got really worked up over something).

Although they did technically see each other, far too much of Anna's time was spent alone, in her opinion.

The king had arrived home about fifteen hours after his daughters had. He joined his wife in being unsure about what to do with Elsa. All Elsa would tell them of what happened is that Anna got hurt. According to Vilhelm's story, Elsa had used her powers to stop the Duke from killing her and Anna, but had hurt Anna in the process. Once the Queen brought this up, Elsa reluctantly admitted it.

However, Elsa seemed to be solving the problem herself, much to her parents' amazement, so they didn't interfere. They let her keep her toys and things in the guest bedroom hideout, and even let her stay there for the night, if she wanted to. So Elsa started sleeping in there, too, separating herself and Anna even further.

Life went on like this, but then Tink and Peri showed up for a visit.

XXXXXXXXXX

It had taken the fairy twins longer than they would have liked to return for a visit, since this was the first time they both had a large chunk of free time- they both managed to get the day off, for that matter. It was snowing outside, and not because of Elsa's storm. They flew towards Arendelle's castle and, forgetting where Elsa and Anna's bedroom was, ended up looking in a lot of the windows before they found the right one.

Peering into the window, they saw Anna playing alone. Tink rapped her knuckles on the window, and Anna looked up, gasped when she saw them, and hurried to open the window. She delightedly cried their names and exclaimed "Now I have someone who will play with me whose not behind a door!"

"Wait, what was that about? And where's Elsa?" Peri asked. Anna's face fell, and she said glumly "She's barely playing with me anymore- she hides in a guest room all the time and I don't know why!" Tink and Peri glanced at each other, having a hunch that Elsa was scared and was trying to protect Anna.

"What do you remember about before you got home?" Tink asked. "We were on a ship and the Weasel man and that other guy were really scary," Anna began. The fairies were pretty sure "the Weasel man" was the Duke, though they had no idea why she called him that. Looking at Peri, Anna continued "Then you hit them with your powers... and then... I don't know what happened. But then I woke up and we flew home. Oh and I've got this white bit in my hair now." Anna nodded to herself and added "That's it."

After questioning her about various memories that had been altered, the fairies glanced at each other, having a feeling they'd be doing that a lot today. "Um, one moment." Peri said to Anna, and she and Tink flew off to talk in private. "I guess that memory thing the trolls did worked." Peri whispered "She doesn't have a clue it was Elsa." Tink had never liked the idea of tampering with Anna's memories, and it certainly wasn't doing any good. It just made Anna more confused and hurt when Elsa hid from her, not to mention whenever she thought about Peri's talent problem, something felt wrong. Tink whispered back "What should we do? Should we tell her the truth?"

"I'd say so. Look at how much she's hurting. She probably thinks Elsa doesn't like her anymore." Peri said sympathetically as she pointed to Anna, who was hugging the Elsa doll sadly. "The trolls did say it was for the best." Tink pointed out, but Peri said "They don't even know her. Besides, remember when everyone thought separating warm and cold-weather fairies was for the best?" Tink grinned; she and Peri were definitely on the same page in this matter.

"Anna," Peri began, once they'd returned to the girl. "It wasn't me who shot that snow and ice at the 'Weasel man', it was Elsa." Anna looked confused, and asked "Elsa can make snow?" No, wait, she can't make snow. Only winer-fairies can do that."

"Yes, and why do you think she became a winter fairy?" Tink asked. "She's had powers since she was born, you just don't remember them." They gave Anna a brief rundown of when Elsa had used her magic on their adventure, hitting the major events like the ice castles and the storm in Arendelle.

"After Elsa hit you with her magic on that ship, you were unconscious and you got that white streak in your hair. The trolls healed you, but they changed your memories so you wouldn't remember her magic." Anna nodded slowly after Peri said that. It was actually easier for her to accept this now (as opposed to if she was older) because she didn't overthink it. She simply believed that Peri and Tink were telling her the truth, and thus was convinced it actually happened (which it did, obviously).

Still holding the Elsa doll, Anna skipped off to the room Elsa was hiding in. Letting go of her doll, she rapped on the door. Knock, Knock, Kno-Knock Knock.

Then she began to sing.

"Do you want to build a snowman?

Elsa, please don't hide in there"

She dropped down to the floor and peered under the door.

"I know it was an accident

Please take this hint

It really isn't fair..."

Anna picked up the Elsa doll and danced it around in the air.

"...that you think that it's your fault

because it's not

So why do you act so scared?"

Throwing the doll down, she peered through the keyhole.

"Do you want to build a snowman?

Cause you don't have to hide your magic."

"Go away, Anna." Elsa said through the door, sounding panicked and sad at the same time. Anna slumped on the floor, heartbroken. Tink and Peri had seen the whole thing, and they both knew what they had to do: talk to Elsa.

The crack under the door Elsa was behind was surprisingly big, easily enough space for a fairy to squeeze under. So that's exactly what the fairy twins did. Inside, they saw Elsa sitting on the window seat, staring out the window and seeming lost to the world. She looked like she'd been crying.

Peri was about to say something, but Tink pointed silently to something lying on the floor. Crayons were scattered around a large leather book. Tink flipped the cover open and saw, on the first page, a child's drawing of her and Peri next to the heads and necks of Elsa and Anna, and the words "Our Adventure" in a little girl's handwriting. It was clearly Elsa's work. Strongly reminded of Lizzy's fairy journal, Tink flipped the page, with Peri now eagerly looking over her shoulder.

Once upon a time there were two beatifull princesss named Elsa and Anna. They bilt a snowman and got lost in the forest. Tink blinked at the atrocious spelling mistakes (especially princesss instead of princesses), but at least she could understand what Elsa wrote.

They read through the book, (which was surprisingly long considering an eight-year-old made it) pausing to fully look at Elsa's drawings. Some of them even had watercolors in them. Elsa's caricature of the Duke was hilarious, since she drew him with fangs. She seemed to have spent quite a lot of time drawing the ice castle, since it was the best drawing in the book.

The last page, telling what happened after getting home, bothered them. Elsa was very fritned - "frightened", Tink guessed- and she knew she had to keep Anna safe. She had to hide from her so she woodnt hurt her sister with her magic agen. Clearly, the King needed to find a better English tutor if this was how bad Elsa's spelling was. But of course, the content of the page was what really got them.

"This story needs a better ending." Peri said, shutting the book. They looked over at Elsa, who appeared to have nodded off on the window seat. They landed next to her and whispered in her ear to wake her up. She did, after a bit.

"You're here!" She sounded as delighted as Anna had. "I missed you guys!" Tink and Peri returned the greeting and gave her a quick hug before getting down to business. "Elsa, why have you been hiding from your sister?" Tink asked. Of course they all knew why, but Tink wanted to see if Elsa would tell them.

"I don't wanna hurt her again." Elsa murmured sadly. "You're hurting her by doing this, just in a different way." Peri pointed out gently. Spotting the Anna doll halfway under the bed, Peri pulled it out and handed it to Elsa. "Anna's sad you won't play with her."

Elsa suddenly grew defensive. "I do play with her, just through the door. I just have to hide my magic and she'll be safe. Wait a minute- she said she knows about it. You told her!" Elsa finished accusingly. Tink and Peri weren't used to seeing her act this way.

"She was totally confused with the altered memories. With them, the whole part about my talent-problem didn't make any sense. Besides, she had no idea why you were hiding from her. She thought you didn't like her."

"That's not it! I love her. She's my sister. I just have to keep her safe from me." Tink sighed when Elsa said that. "Elsa, everyone makes mistakes. Listen to me. What happened on the boat wasn't your fault. If it wasn't for you, both of you could be dead. You saved her."

"But I hurt her too!" Elsa exclaimed. Elsa remembered Lord Milori telling her to always be proud of her powers, but she couldn't now that she'd hurt Anna. She certainly hadn't gotten past the fact that she hurt her sister. Tink groaned "That doesn't mean you avoid her like the plague. I broke my wings in the cold weather and Peri doesn't avoid me."

"And I almost overheated crossing the border for the first time, and Tink doesn't avoid me." Peri put in. The two fairies began to explain what they meant. How Tink's wings had gotten dangerously close to breaking the first time she crossed over to the Winter Woods, how she almost fell to her death when her wings were tucked into her coat. How Peri's wings had almost broken when she crossed over and Tink's snow machine hadn't kept her cold enough.

Despite these accidents, the fairy twins had refused to be separated. Even when Tink's wing had actually broken, they agreed to meet at the border. By the time they were telling her about how their bond had fixed Tink's wing, about fifteen minutes later, Elsa's brow was furrowed in thought.

"See? We accidentally hurt each other lots of times by bringing each other into harsh climates, and we didn't let that separate us. We both knew it wasn't intentional." Tink told her, before Peri added "We would've hated to be separated from each other. Don't you hate hiding from Anna?"

"Yeah..." Elsa murmured. It helped knowing that the fairies had gone through something similar, but she was still unsure. "The trolls said it was best if they removed all magic." Elsa said, and Tink asked, slightly irked "Who do you trust more? Us or the trolls? If the only time in eight years that you seriously hurt your sister with your magic was when you were faced with possible death, you don't have to worry about it happening again."

This appeared to sway Elsa more towards where they wanted, but they could see she still wasn't totally convinced. Tink and Peri grabbed her fingers and pulled her towards the door. Unless she wanted her fingers pulled off (figuratively), she really had no choice but to follow. They led her to a balcony looking down a couple levels. Elsa wondered if it was a coincidence that Anna happened to be sliding down the banister. However, Anna overcompensated and tipped over the edge. There was nothing between her and the hard floor below.

"Anna!" Elsa cried out, and without thinking she flung out her hand, making a huge pile of snow appear under her sister. Anna landed in it, unharmed, and sat up giggling. Elsa looked at the fairies with joy and relief written all over her face. "See?" Tink said. "One mistake isn't the end of the world. Your powers are a gift, not a curse."

XXXXXXXXXX

"Done!" Elsa exclaimed. She and Anna had just added another page to her book, with the fairies help on spelling. "But then Tinker Bell and Periwinkle helped Elsa realize that she shouldn't hide from Anna, so she didn't. They were together again, just as they should be. The princesses and the fairies lived happily ever after." This was accompanied by a picture of the four of them hugging- each of them had drawn themselves and signed their name under their picture.

Elsa had even gone back and added magical non-melting snowflakes to some of the drawings. She shut the book and hugged it to her chest- it had become her new favorite. Elsa put the book on her bed- the one in the nursery. They'd moved all her toys and books back to her shared bedroom with Anna.

Anna hopped around excitedly, and and asked "Do you wanna build a snowman?"

Elsa grinned. "I am never saying no to that again."

Grabbing her sister's hand, with the fairies flying in front of them, Elsa ran downstairs to build another Olaf with her magic.

Yes, I changed the lyrics to "Do you want to build a snowman?" I've had them in my head for a year. Please don't kill me.

So, I hope Elsa's change of mind wasn't too rushed, but all she really needed was that her magic wasn't a horrible abomination, even after she hurt Anna. Luckily, Tink and Peri were there :) I wonder what would've happened if someone had just talked to her in the movie?

Okay, I have one chapter left, but it's really just an epilogue that has a couple short one-shots. I'm hoping to post it in the next couple days.
