AN: I don't own Glee
I'm so sorry for the hiatus, there is honestly nothing more than to write but life has just been crazy, I'm on break now though so hopefully I can get some updates in!
Chapter 7
The next morning Mason woke up early to get ready for the day, extra early in hopes of calming his nerves down. He showered and brushed his curly locks until they had finally calmed down. He put on a nice button up shirt and a pair of slacks. As he took one finally look in the mirror, Madison poked her head in the doorway. "Are you ready for today?" She asked excitedly. "I hope so." Mason said, shrugging at his reflection before turning to her. "Don't worry Mas, just be yourself, and it will just happen." She replied, fixing the collar of his shirt. "You better call me though as soon as you leave Jane's house. I want a full report!" Madison instructed. "Will do, thanks Mads, I'll see you later!" Mason then headed out the door and went on his way to Jane's house.
About ten minutes later he pulled up outside of Jane's house. He ran his hand through his hair and took a big breath before getting out of his car and heading up the walkway to her front door. He knocked on the door tentatively and waited. A moment later Jane slowly opened the door. "Hi!" She said warmly as she welcomed him in her house. Mason was completely flustered as he saw Jane; he thought that she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. She wore a simple sundress with her wild curls loose around her face like a waterfall. Breaking his little admiration moment, Jane asked, "Are you ready to start rehearsing?" Mason nodded and managed to stammer out, "Y-yeah" She smiled and led him to the study room of her house.
The room was something you'd see in a library, the walls were covered and furnished in mahogany oak. Books covered the walls and there were many photos on the shelves. There were photos of men in what looked like Dalton Academy uniforms; the photos apparently were from over many of years, for some photos were in black and white. "Family Legacy." Jane said simply, as she gathered up sheet music. Mason turned to her as she continued, "Every generation of Hayward men since 1920 has been a student of Dalton Academy and a member of the Warblers, then there was me, and the legacy was broken." She said somewhat bitterly. "The Warblers messed up big time." Mason said, trying to cheer her up. Jane smiled, and all bitterness faded, "Thanks Mason. Enough about that for now, let's rehearse."
An hour later the two had decided to call it quits for the day. "Would you like something to drink?" Jane offered as she stood up and stretched. "A water would be nice, thank you." She nodded and headed to the kitchen to get drinks for the two.
As she came back and sat down next to him on the couch she asked, "So how do you like Lima so far?" She sat criss-cross and faced him. "It's pretty nice. The school is nice, the cheerleading is intense but really fun, and the best part is definitely glee and all the new people I've met." He said honestly. "Okay I have a question for you." Jane said. Mason smiled, "Okay shoot." "So how did you get into cheerleading?" She asked. "That's an interesting story. Well when Madison and I were little, we were inseparable, I mean I know we still kind of are today, but I mean we were never without the other. So anyway, my parents didn't want us to become those twins who can't function without the other so they wanted to sign us up for some different activities so we could have some away time. Well that didn't go as they had planned. Neither of us could find an activity we would enjoy without the other. Finally my sister asked if she could try cheerleading, and my parents agreed, secretly hoping that I wouldn't want to join. Boy were they wrong, I begged to try it to, and I actually loved it. Then the rest was history." Mason said, clapping his hands together. "Wow, that's really cool. So you've been cheerleading for a long time." "Yeah" He nodded with a smile. "So tell me about you," Mason said, turning to her. "There's not really much to tell." She said bashfully. "I'd have to disagree." Mason replied, looking down at his hands. "What do you mean?" She asked. "Well you just seem like such a mystery to me. You're so interesting, smart, and complex. I just know that there's quite a lot to you."
Jane smiled and suddenly Mason knew he had to make his move. "You're really beautiful, when you smile." Jane blushed, "Just when I smile?" She asked jokingly, and instead of replying, Mason leaned in an kissed her.
