The next morning, the school was in an uproar. Everyone was talking about what had happened to the troll, and how it had been done. No one was quite sure about the events, but the stir they had caused pleased Hailey. After all, she had unknowingly caused large amounts of chaos, in a school where, she had to admit, was in great need of it.

the Birds had no idea what to make of it, but they were closer than most with their guesses.

"It had to be someone who didn't want attention. Bringing down a troll single handedly? I'd be bragging if it was me." Katy spoke earnestly and honestly.

"It had to be a student. All the teachers were down in the dungeons."

Sam guessed accurately as usual.

"What's your theory Hailey?" Day prodded gently. She alone knew how upset Hailey had been about the previous nights celebration. The holiday wasn't special to her, and a painful reminder of how different she was, even from her fellow students.

"A combination of Sam and Katy's theories, with a touch of my own. A student either unwittingly or unintentionally came across the troll, somehow defeated it, and afraid of the consequences or just flat out afraid of what they had done, ran."

Her theory was exactly what had happened, except for the ending. She hasn't been afraid of the consequences, or what she had done, she just preferred to keep herself as much a mystery as possible.

The troll incident became an infamous event in the weeks to follow. Everyone continued to talk about it, until, that is, the Griffindor VS Slytherin Quidditch match.

Everyone was talking about the new Griffindor seeker, a second year called Darla Thistle.

Hailey planned on trying out for seeker in her second year, but she had no doubt she'd have to fight Draco Malfoy tooth and nail for it. She would win of course. He might be filthy stinking rich, but she was tough as nails and knew it.

The match went of for some time, before both seekers, young and old, red and green, went into steep dives. Both nearly crashed and several seconds later, the obnoxious announcing boy, Lee Jordan, who insulted Slytherin every spare second he got, announced that :"Darla Thistle has the snitch! GRIFFINDOR WINS!"

Hailey sighed. Oh, would Harmony ever be rubbing this in.

The rest of Hailey's term was uneventful. Harmony did as predicted, and rubbed in Griffindor's victory as though she had caught the snitch herself.

Christmas morning found Hailey awakened very early, by a loud hissing noise. As she had the room to herself, she jolted awake scanning for the source.

It wasn't that difficult to find. A small black kitten had found its way into the castle, and eventually her room, she thought, until she saw the green ribbon and tag around its neck.

The tag had few words as was customary by its giver.

'To Hailey. His name is Fidí. Greek for snake. Hissssssss!'

She groaned before addressing her newly acquired pet.

"Fidí, eh? Well, whadya say we go exploring cat?"

The cat blinked.

"I thought so. Let me get something on beside pajamas, and we'll go."

The cat blinked again.

Ten minutes later, Hailey and her cat were headed to the third floor's forbidden corridor, guided by Hailey's impulsiveness.

The corridor was dark. Hailey and the cat found their way through fine, Fidí because he was a cat, Hailey, guided by the lumos charm she had learned the week before.

At the very end of the corridor was a large, locked, oak door. The spell left her lips before she could even think about it.

"Alohamora."

She internally cursed herself. It's a magical school, the out of bounds room isn't going to be unlocked by magic!

But then came a click, and the door was unlocked. Hailey nearly laughed. Sometimes wizards were very, very stupid. The room was off limits, and a first year could unlock the door.

Entering the room quietly, she felt her cat hide behind her legs. She i quickly realized why.

Standing in the room was an enormous three headed dog. It looked like how she had always pictured Cerubus, the dog of the underworld.

"Oh, Luke's going to kill me if I'm dead!"

A sharp pain flaring in her left ankle assured Hailey that, she was indeed still alive. The dead don't feel pain, right?

It was Fidí, who's fear of the creature in front of them caused him to scratch her.

Shaking herself out of her awed trance, Hailey rapidly surveyed the room, before backing out and shouting the door. The encounter had probably taken fifteen seconds, and hadn't given the dog a chance to move.

Hailey picked up her cat, and ran at top speed to the second floor girls bathroom. She had to talk to Luke about this one.

A/N: Darlings! I'm back for good, no more travel for me!

I was in San Diego last week, shoutout to anyone who lives there, your city is amazing. Shout out also to the amazing people in Chattanooga Tennessee, you all are truly blessed. Comment if you live in either place.

MISS watched a hyperactive three year old for awhile during the trip. Holy Mother Rhea. She's insane. And really smart.

Also, my birthday was on Saturday, I'll give you a cookie if you correctly guess my age. (Maggie, you're not allowed to guess.)

Two more things. Go check out aayathesnake01 on Deviantart. She has put up some fanart for this fanfic.

Finally, there's a poll in my bio, for Luke and Hailey's theme song! Go check it out!

Oh, yes, and Rose Fairweather is not Rose Tyler. Sorry.

Disclaimer: I don't own Pjo or HP. Big whoop. I own Hailey, the Birds, and Fidí the cat. Harmony belongs to Maggie.

And pretty please review?
