Alex Pov.
I was in the living room pacing around while the others along with Cody were sitting on the ground making the new house look small. I was wearing a white shirt and a black skirt that reached my knees, my hair was in a ponytail and I am worried, very worried. I have to go to work and later I have to take Cody with me to the judge to sign some documents and then our 'father' won't be able to do anything to us.
The garden incident was about 3 days ago and things have gotten a little more peaceful since we sewed Hidan's mouth. Tobi and Cody were still playing together but not as destructive.
"Okay, my number is on the fridge, if anything happens, somebody gets hurt or anything, let me know." I said still pacing around while the others were looking at me freaking out. Look at what happened after I let them be alone for a few hours, what might happen in a day?!
"Don't worry Alex, everything will be fine." Konan told me, I looked at her and nodded.
"Yeah, your right." I said and sighed trying not to pass out. I looked them over.
"I'm going to work, I'll be back later to check on Cody and I'm taking Zetsu to a garden center to buy some new plants and later I'm going to come and pick up Cody, we need to sign some documents and then I'm going to take a vacation and show you guys around." I said nodding my head.
I looked them over again and narrowed my eyes looking them over and then I looked at Konan.
"Keep an eye on them, please." I said and she nodded "Especially on Cody." I said and she nodded again.
"Okay, I'm off." I said taking my bag, jacket and keys.
"My number is on the fridge and you know how to call me!" I called and Cody followed me to say bye. I crouched down to hiss level.
"Kiss." I said and he ran to me and hugged me kissing my cheek while I kissed his fore head and smiled.
"Okay, see you later." I said and he waved.
"Bye!" he shouted waving while I got into the car and drove off, I hope everything goes well.
It took me about 30 minutes to get to work, I had luck and there was no traffic. I do live near my work which is very practical.
I parked my car, took my stuff, put on my jacket and prepared myself for a day of seeing my boss. I don't like my boss, he keeps bothering me.
I walked into the building, my heels clicking at every step I made.
"Hey Alex!" I looked at the counter and smiled.
"Hey Jack!" I called and he smiled too, he's a good friend here at the office. I don't like to be here but my boss gives me a good pay, so it's good and I need the money now. Especially since the Akatsuki's here.
"Good luck!" Jack called and I smiled sadly.
"Thanks, I'll need it!" I said and he laughed, he knows about my boss and so does most of the building. And most of them also know that I don't like him.
I walked into the elevator and pressed the 7th button, going up to the 7th floor. The elevator stopped at some others but I was up much faster than I would have liked.
DING
The annoying elevator bell rang and opened, I took in a deep breath and stepped out of the elevator going to my desk.
"Hey Alex." I smiled at Jessie.
"Hey Jess." I said passing her desk.
"How's Cody?!" she called and I smiled.
"He's great, he's at home with the… sitter!" I said and she nodded going back to work.
I sat down and sighed in relief, my boss didn't see me-
"Hello Alex my dear." I jumped a foot and turned around to see my boss smiling at me.
My boss is a man 8 years older than I am, he has black cold eyes and black hair that's slicked back with a load of hair gel. He's always wearing a black suit with a white shirt and a black tie and black shoes.
I smiled slowly not sure how I can do this anymore.
"Hello, Mr Anderson." I said with my professional voice. He closed his eyes and sighed opening them and looking at me with a weird gaze, one I don't like.
"Alex honey, you can call me James." He said and I nodded slowly.
"Yes, of course… James." I said laughed awkwardly while he smiled in triumph.
"So, what are you doing this weekend?" he asked me while I worked, I glanced at him and sighed.
"I'm sorry Mr Ander-" I stopped when he gave me a look "I mean… James" he nodded and I continued.
"I have a few friends over at my house and I promised to show them around." I said and he now looking discouraged. I turned back to my computer smiling slightly thinking that he will stop the daily routine but no.
"I can help you if you want." He said, my eyes widened.
"NO! I mean, no they're very shy people and I have to go shopping for different things and I will be very busy! Maybe next time." I said and he sighed.
"Very well Alex my dear. But don't be shy about going out with me, I will always say yes to you." He said and I took this as an good opportunity.
"Um, James can I ask you something?" I asked him in a shy voice, okay it's time to act. He was about to leave but when he heard my voice he stopped and looked at me with a smile.
"Of course my dear." He said with a seductive voice leaning forward. He was sitting on my desk and now he's leaning forward towards me making me feel very defenseless.
"I would like to ask for a vacation because my friends will be here and I want to have time to show them around because they will be here for a while." I said and he smiled sweetly almost making me gag.
"On one condition." He said and I saw my world breaking apart, I have heard of his conditions and most of them aren't so good.
"Y-yes?" I asked unsure, he smiled taking my hands in his and looking into my eyes.
"I want you to go to the Governors ball with me. It's in a few months, you know about it." He said and I paled, that's a ball for very important and rich people and Mr. Anderson is rich and important so he has to go.
"I don't know if I will be able to go." He shushed me by putting a finger on my lips.
"If you don't go with me, I won't give you the vacation. If you go with me you can be on vacation for the rest of your life and it will be paid, just go to the party with me." He said and I gulped, I have a very bad feeling about this.
"O-okay." I said and he jumped up shouting yes. He turned to me while I processed what I agreed to do.
"I'll pick you up at 8 so don't make any plans on that day. You can take vacation now if you want." He said in a hurry and walked off. I was left stunned and pale.
"What did you do to make him be so… happy?" Jess asked me coming to sit next to me. I was still stunned.
"I agree to let him take me to the Governors ball so I can take a vacation." I said and she gasped.
"For a vacation that's pretty highly ranked." She said and I nodded taking my purse and stuff.
"Yes, so I'm going to make it last." I said and left immediately.
I was on my way to my car and I took out my cell phone and pressed my house number. I put the phone to my ear and sat down in my car. I don't drive while calling.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
I frowned at the time it took for them to pick up the phone, I taught them how to. Maybe something happened.
"Hello" I smiled relieved that someone picked up.
"Hey Kakuzu, it's Alex I'm coming home, I'll be there in about 30 minutes." I said and Kakuzu fell silent at the other side. I got a little worried.
"Hello?" I said.
"*grunt* take your time." I frowned a little at the voice but didn't think too much about it.
"Okay, I got to go to the Garden Center with Zetsu so tell him to get ready I'm coming to pick him up so we can go flower shopping." I said.
"*grunt* You're spending too much money on the plant." He said and I smiled hanging up starting the car and driving off.
I opened my front door and stepped into my house expecting to see Cody running up to me like every other day to give me a big welcome home hug.
"Cody?" I called but there was nothing. I stepped into the living room and saw nobody. Now I'm getting worried.
"Konan?! Pain?! Anyone?!" I called but there was nothing. I walked around the house searching for the Akatsuki or Cody.
"Cody-" I jumped when someone walked in front of me out of nowhere.
"Sasori, you scared me." I said gripping my heart. He rose an eyebrow at me.
"You're early but that's good." He said and I rolled my eyes.
"I made a contract with the devil and here I am." I said and looked around "Anyways, where is everybody?" I asked him.
"There are in the back, we found a closed off area behind the house so everyone is training a little because there isn't a lot we can do." He said and I nodded following him.
"Where is Cody?" I asked and he stopped and began to walk again.
"He's with us." Sasori said and I nodded following him.
After 5 minutes of walking we arrived at a big clearing where everyone was training and Cody was sitting and pouting. I walked over to him and picked him up.
"Cody, where were you, I was worried!" I said and his eyes widened and he looked around unsurely.
"I'm not mad or something, I was just worried." I said and smiled making him smile too.
"Kiss" I said and he hesitated before kissing my cheek and me kissing his fore head, I turned to the others to see Itachi and Pain glaring at Cody. I frowned and looked around to see two member missing.
"Where are Tobi and Deidara?" I asked them and they exchanged nervous glances.
"The brat's flying around and exploring the area and Tobi went with him" Sasori said and I nodded putting Cody down on the ground again.
"Okay, just make sure they don't get caught by anyone and that they don't trace them back here. Let's go Zetsu!" I said and turned around going back to the house to change and go to the Garden Center.
After 3 hours of watching a plant/ human roam a Garden Center like he's in heaven is very tiring. He eventually chose some flowers, rose bushes and some rare trees. All you need to know is that it took a big piece of my money.
Kakuzu would have fainted by now. Zetsu was sitting next to me with a big smile talking about where he will plant the flowers and how he will arrange it with the trees.
We parked the car and the guys that were following us here with the plants began to unload the plants. Luckily Zetsu used a jutsu to make himself look more human so the delivery guys were only freaked out and not horrified.
I walked into the house searching for Cody only to see Cody running to me with Pain behind him.
"Alex!" he shouted and jumped into my arms. I caught him and looked at Pain.
"What's wrong?" I asked him, his eyes narrowed at Cody and he looked at me.
"Nothing, we were playing ninja and your brother is very fast." He said and I smiled.
"Really? You hear Cody, you're a ninja." I said and took him with me to the car to go to the police station.
"Yeah, I'm a ninja un!" he said and I frowned at him. His eyes were wide.
"You're spending too much time with Deidara." I said and he went into the car.
"Buckle up!" I said and he nodded.
"I'm going with you." I looked behind me to see Sasori in normal clothing looking at me seriously.
"Um, you don't have to I'll be back after an hour or two but If you want to." I said and he nodded sitting next to me in the car while we drove off.
"Alex where are we going yeah?" Cody asked and I glanced at him.
"See, Deidara's un's have gotten to you." I sighed and he blinked.
"But Deidara is cool, yeah!" he said and I frowned at that.
"If you say so, but you should still spend less time with Deidara." He pouted and then turned to Sasori.
"Sasori-danna! What do you think of Deidara?!" he asked happily.
"He's a Brat that doesn't know what art is." Sasori said and Cody seemed shocked, I parked the car and Cody jumped out and ran to me.
"Let's go" I said taking his hand in mine and going into the police office.
"Hey Jerry!" I called at the old police officer who smiled at me and waved.
My mother was a loved woman in this town and had many connections that I took over, so here I am signing the documents for mine and Cody's 'freedom' as to say. Actually these are papers that make me and Cody unreachable for our 'father', he can't hurt us or do anything to us without being sentence for life. Connections my friends, connections.
"Can you watch him just for a moment?" I asked Sasori who nodded and I walked to Jerry.
"Hey there Alex, you're just on time!" he said and handed me the papers. I took the huge stack of documents that he put together with my lawyer and walked over to the judge who was asked to come here. I walked over to Sasori and Cody.
"Alex!" Cody shouted and jumped to me kissing my cheek, I smieled at him and kissed his fore head.
"I wasn't gone that long." I said and took him with me.
"Stay here." Sasori nodded seeming relieved and sat down on a chair while me and Cody went to do this.
"Hello my dear." I smiled at the old man.
"Hello judge Fredrich." I smiled at the man who knew my mother since she was a small baby. He's like the father figure I never had, he and Jerry both.
"Hello little Cody." He said and ruffled Cody's hair, Cody only hid behind my legs making us both laugh.
"Here are the papers, all you need to do is sigh here, here and… here." He said and I nodded signing the papers.
"Okay, now what did he do?" he asked me with a serious look. I sighed and looked at Cody.
"He didn't get to do anything to Cody but I did get some bruises and scars from him." He nodded.
"I'll make sure that goes into his files and he won't be walking around like that for long." I nodded and we left.
Cody fell asleep in the car and the drive home was very quiet, I talked a little with Sasori about the documents and he only nodded.
We arrived at home and I carried Cody inside and up stairs to his bed. I walked out of his room and down stairs to see actual food on the table.
"Wow, who cook?" I asked they looked at each other.
"Itachi took care of it." Kakuzu said looking relieved, they probably didn't spend any money. I looked around and frowned.
"Didn't Deidara and Tobi come back yet?" I asked Sasori.
"They were trying to do something so Leader-sama punished them." He said and I nodded and then frowned.
"What did they do?" I asked and he looked at me.
"Something bad." Was all he said and walked away. I shrugged it away and sat down at the table to eat pizza. Hidan did look a little happy making the others glare at him.
What a tiring day.
Chapter 8 is done, the next chapter will be the Akatsuki's day and why some of them were acting weird and still are ;)
This chapter is a little hectic but you will know why in the next chapter, this is all planned.
