Summary: Whitebeard was ill, he was dying, before Thatch and Teach, before Ace, before any of them were a part of his family. Back in time when it was just Marco and himself. Whitebeard was a goner and he knew it; he just wanted to hear his son sing, one last time. Unknown to Marco and Whitebeard though, the phoenix's song was no mere lullaby.

This was my first attempt and it was utter bullshit but I thought I'd show you it anyways. It was a romance instead of a family fic.

Summary: The phoenix is known for its beautiful song; the song that could heal the heart of its sorrows, and a man of his regrets. And he was the only one who got to hear it. Marco x Ace

Ace sighed in content, shifting to lie closer to his lover, Marco, who was leaning against a tree, running his fingers through Ace's hair. They were surrounded by each other's flames. Ace's flame keeping them warm with passion and love while Marco's flame locked the heat in while ensuring that Ace didn't start a forest fire.

"Ma armastan sind,

Je t'aime,

Tiako ianao,

I love you more than the sun and the stars in the sky,"

Marco's flames were surrounding his throat, flickering as the phoenix man sang with his zoan powers. The song of a phoenix, and only Ace would hear it. Ace hugged Marco's waist, nuzzling those blue flames.

"I love you more," he swore.

"I love you most…"
