I feel really bad for this really short chapter so I may double update.

Chapter 16

Rose woke up in a field. The grass was soft, like cotton, and there were wild flowers growing in random places. It was beautiful. The temperature was just right, not too hot and not too cold, and the sun was shining brightly.

Rose looked around and smiled. This was a nice change from the never ending darkness and the voice. She could stay here forever, in this field, never having to worry about anything again.

"Oh, don't you wish." Someone said beside her. "I chose this place especially for you."

Rose looked to the person next to her. She saw a woman with naturally golden blonde hair that tumbled past her shoulders in waves. When the woman turned to look at her, Rose realized she was looking at herself.

Well, a prettier, more posh version of herself. "Who are you?" Rose asked hesitantly.

"Yes, I suppose you would be wondering that." The woman chuckled. She had a more formal voice than Rose. "I am the Bad Wolf."

Rose stared at the woman, well, herself. "Yes, yes. This must be very confusing for you." The Bad Wolf said. "When the Doctor took the time vortex out of you when you absorbed it, he accidentally left a little bit of it behind. Not enough to burn you up though. The Bad Wolf, me, was asleep all those years. When you cracked open the void and fell out, it woke me up."

Rose stared at the Bad Wolf. She still had some part of the time vortex living inside of herself.

"When… when will I see the Doctor again? I-if I ever see him again." Rose asked cautiously, almost afraid of the answer.

"Oh, you will see him again. That is why I brought you here. You cannot escape the void without tremendous power. And now that you… don't exist, it will take you much more power to incorporate yourself back into the universe." The Bad Wolf said. "You're probably wondering how you're going to get out."

Rose nodded.

"Well, you need tremendous power to get yourself back into the universe, as I already said. And what connects everything in the universe together?" The Bad Wolf asked her.

Rose thought for a second. "The time vortex."

The Bad Wolf smiled. "Yes, and I am the time vortex."

Rose was catching on now, and she smiled. "You have enough power to get me out?"

The Bad Wolf nodded vigorously, but then frowned. "But there may be some… side effects."

Rose's smile fell and she stared at the woman in front of her. "Like what?"

"Well, I can get you incorporated back into the universe and restore all of the things you did, but I cannot pull you out of the void without tying you to something outside of it." She said sadly.

"Well then, why don't you tie me to something?" Rose asked curiously.

The Bad Wolf sighed. "Because there's only one thing powerful enough to pull you out, and that's the TARDIS." She bowed her head. "You're only human. It would kill you."

Now she understood. "So I can… I can never leave."

Not lifting her head, the Bad Wolf smiled. "I didn't say that."

Rose cocked her head. What did the Bad Wolf mean? It was either stay here, or die trying to leave. Maybe staying in this field wasn't such a bad idea.

But the Doctor… Something in her head argued.

Rose sighed. She could stay here, but she would never truly be happy.

"Then what do you propose I do?" Rose asked, standing up a bit straighter to try and match the Bad Wolf's height.

"As I said, there will be side effects." The Bad Wolf said confidently, finally lifting her head. "But I didn't say they would be bad."

Rose was getting anxious now. She wanted to know what these 'side effects' were. "Then what are they? The side effects, I mean."

The Bad Wolf looked into the blonde's eyes and smiled. "I said 'you're only human.' But what if you weren't human. What if you were something different?"

"What do you mean?" Rose asked.

"I can, well, tie you to the TARDIS, bye connecting you to her." Rose cocked her head, causing the Bad Wolf to sigh and continue. "Connecting you to the TARDIS means changing your species. You would be part TARDIS, part Time Lady. The Time Lady portion coming from the energy of the time vortex."

Rose finally understood, and she smiled. Maybe this 'side effect' wouldn't be all that bad. "Then do it."

"It will take a while. The amount of time is unpredictable." The Bad Wolf said. "The TARDIS must move a few times before it will pull you out, and every time it moves it will be painful."

Rose sighed. "I can't live without the Doctor."

And that was true. She couldn't. Rose had left the parallel world, left her family and her friends behind, so she could be with the Doctor again. She had to get back to him.

After all, they had never gotten their forever.
