Chapter XVIX:
"Tsunade sama if you don't mind me asking I was wondering why you requested for a pregnancy test?" Ino asked to Tsunade who was patiently waiting for the result of Sakura's PT.
"It is a stat order of the this facility that was recently mandated today when the board of directors and staff head had a meeting which is yet to be announced to medic staff." Tsunade explained.
"A stat order to initiate a pregnancy test for female patients of child rearing age?"
"Yes, kindly check Sakura's vital signs every 15 minutes, and get the result of Sakura's pregnancy test from the laboratory it should be done now."
Ino did as she was told and handed over Sakura's laboratory result.
"Is she pregnant with Naruto's child?"
"No, she isn't. You can perform manual chakra manipulation to rouse her. Tell her to take a rest for a while as it was stress that made her chakra flow irregular causing her to feel weakness and eventually fainted." Tsunade said and wrote Sakura's diagnosis and treatment on her chart before leaving to attend to other patients.
Kazekage Residence in Suna
Temari led Sasuke and Hinata to their room, a special guestroom of the Kazekage Residence. The room was as big as the room Sasuke rented for their wedding night the only difference is the design of the room. The wall was the same color of the sand surrounding suna and a chandelier in the middle of the room and a large four poster bed in the middle with white covers above the bed is a large wooden ceiling fan. Through the windows the view of the village of Suna can be seen and the bathroom was large enough with a shower and bath tub. The closets are made of the finest wood with an elegant design befitting royalty so as the dressing wall and the desks.
"Do you like your room?" Temari asked.
"Hai this is too much are you sure this is our room?" Hinata asked.
"Of course, my brother specifically asked me to prepare the most special room in here. This room was only used by kages or clan leaders before and since both of you are from noble clans my brother offered this room for you, how about you two change your clothes which are inside the closets for it is very cold here at night and rest for a while, I'll send a servant to pick you up when dinner is ready. This are the keys to your room, enjoy." Temari said handing over a set of keys to Hinata before leaving.
"Gaara sure like to impress." Sasuke said as he entered the room and closed the door behind him.
"This is his gift to us that's why he let us use this room. Ano Sasuke kunn is it alright if I take a shower first?" Hinata asked.
"Sure, I'll just lie in bed for a while."
Hinata opened the closet and saw clothes for her and for Sasuke separated from one another. The clothes prepared for her are all dresses with matching jacket of the same color made of the finest sheep wool and boots. After Hinata was done taking a bath, she wore the red knee length Chinese collar dress that perfectly hugged her figure. If it wasn't for the jacket her chest would be very noticeable in the fitted dress.
Sasuke saw Hinata wearing the clothes she chose when she went out of the dressing wall and can't help but be awed at how beautiful the shy Hyuuga heiress was. Hinata saw him stare and she turned her back on him but Sasuke walked towards her to turn her and look directly into her face.
"Do you have any idea how beautiful you look right now?"
"Sa-Sasuke kun…"
Sasuke inched his face close to Hinata and kiss her but a knock on their door made him stop.
"Who is it?" He growled.
"It's me Temari can I come in?"
"Hai." Hinata said and opened the door for Temari while Sasuke said damn before going to the bathroom.
"Did I interrupt something? Uchiha sounded irritable."
Hinata only smiled.
"You look beautiful in your dress Hinata, actually I came here to get you and ask a servant to fix your hair and make up for the dinner banquet."
"Dinner banquet? But I thought it was only dinner."
"Gaara requests both of your presence for this dinner banquet that is why the clothes prepared for you and Uchiha are all formal wear for you'll be attending a lot of parties aside from tonight's banquet while here."
"But is fixing my hair and makeup necessary?"
"Of course it is. I was about to get my hair and makeup fixed that's why I went here. Don't worry about Uchiha a servant will get him here to lead him to the banquet."
"Wait for me here I'll tell Sasuke about it so he won't be frantic when he won't see me after he was done taking his bath."
"Sure."
Hinata knocked once on the bathroom door. Sasuke wrapped a towel around his waist and opened the door.
"Yes?" He asked.
Hinata blushed and twiddled her index fingers looking at them while saying, "I-I am go-going with Temari san, a se-servant will take you to the b-banquet whe-where I'll wait for you."
"Banquet? Fine I'll see you later Hinata chan." Sasuke said and ruffled Hinata's hair before closing the door of the bathroom resuming his bath.
After Sasuke was done taking a bath he wore a black long sleeved Mandarin collar kung fu jacket and black pants and wore the shoes provided for him in the closet. When he was done wearing his clothes a servant called for him and followed the servant to the banquet which was being held in the indoor garden.
Hinata's hair was tied up into two buns and her makeup was light just enough to give her face a certain glow. She was waiting for Sasuke to arrive and get her for she was growing anxious with the number of people invited in such short notice who can't help but notice and compliment her looks. Unfortunately for her Temari left her alone to attend to the guests for being Gaara's sister and head of public relations. Thanks to Hinata's trained eye she was able to spot Sasuke arriving with the servant she walked towards him, however she was accidentally pushed by a guest making her bump into a familiar back.
"Hinata san." Gaara greeted with his usual mask of emotions although he was mentally blushing upon seeing a very beautiful Hinata. He himself wore his usual long sleeve clothes however he was not carrying his sand with him at this event.
"Gomen Gaara san, I was accidentally pushed." Hinata said bowing before the kazekage.
"No it's alright it's not your fault you bumped into me. Besides you look beautiful tonight Hinata san." Gaara said kissing Hinata's knuckles.
"Excuse me Gaara but that is my wife's hand you're kissing to." Sasuke said coldly as he placed a hand on Gaara's shoulder making the kazekage look at him.
Back to Konoha
Naruto had been drinking every night ever since he was dismissed by Tsunade. Although it was unusual for him to do such thing, alcohol is the only thing that makes him numb from the pain he was suffering from.
"Naruto." Ino greeted who saw him sitting in a bench near the Konoha canal drinking a big bottle of sake.
"Ino? Is th-that you where is your boyfriend Choji?" Naruto asked before he hiccupped.
"He's home, don't you know what time is it already?"
"Night?"
"Yes and it's dinnertime but here you are drinking. Is this what the future hokage looks like?" Ino mocked.
"Mind your own business this is the only thing that helps me from my pain. Besides I will still be hokage no matter what!" Naruto returned before taking a drink.
"So be it. I'm glad you showed your true colors before Hinata chan married you and suffer later." Ino said before leaving Naruto alone.
"Damn it!" Naruto said angrily and throw the bottle of sake in the water and dug his face to his hands and cried. "I'm sorry Hinata chan."
Kazekage Residence Indoor Garden
The tension was rising between Sasuke and Gaara who are glaring with one another and Hinata who was in between was worried for both men.
"Sasuke kun, Gaara san please stop this." Hinata pleaded.
Sasuke was about to activate his Sharingan but Kankuro arrived and placed his hands on Sasuke and Gaara's shoulders.
"I don't know why the temperature here is rising up but both of you should calm down or there could be dire consequences especially to you Uchiha for this is the Kazekage Residence and any harm done to my brother may instigate a war again against Konoha." Kankuro said logically.
"Hn." Sasuke said and dragged Hinata away from Gaara and Kankuro.
"What is that all about brother?" Kankuro asked.
"Nothing, Uchiha is just possessive with his wife."
"Wife? But isn't that Hinata? Anyway I am glad I arrived in time before you and Uhiha start hitting each other."
Gaara closed his eyes and inhaled deeply before saying, "We won't do anything to disrupt peace actually we are just sizing up each other's pride."
"What but why?"
"Male ego. I'm hungry I'll start the banquet now." Gaara said and left a confused Kankuro alone.
"Male ego and Uchiha possessive of his wife and a sudden dinner banquet? What exactly is happening here? I have to find my sister Temari and ask her." Kankuro said to himself.
"Sasuke kun what is with your recent display with Gaara san?" Hinata asked softly.
"He kissed your knuckles Hinata chan do you know what that means?"
"Respect? He's just being gentleman that's all."
"No he isn't, he's hitting on you Hinata chan despite knowing that you are married to me."
Hinata was about to speak but Gaara called everyone's attention.
"Good evening and thank you everyone for coming here on such short notice. In case you are wondering what this banquet is about, this is a welcome gift to the newly wed Sasuke and Hinata Uchiha. (Everyone clapped for Sasuke and Hinata) Everyone please eat and drink as much as you want."
Both Sasuke and Hinata are surprised that the quiet Gaara was able to deliver a short speech in front of everyone, era of peace sure changed a lot of people even the un social Gaara.
"Shall we now eat?" Sasuke asked.
"No…not until you answer my question first."
"What is it Hinata chan?"
Hinata looked into Sasuke's eyes and asked, "Why are you so possessive towards me Sasuke kun? First you told me to never call any male with the kun suffix except from you and now you got angry when Gaara san kissed my knuckles. Why Sasuke kun are you acting like that why?"
"Because I like you Hinata chan." Sasuke replied in a soft yet clear voice.
