'We've made it passed the written test, now it's my turn to show my power. These water ninja will be nothing. "If their eyes meet mine... I'll kill them all."

Ever since he heard of the Konoha Manipulation, he had been furious, though never outright showing it. At night, when sleep was never allowed to come over his eyes, he always sat on the roof, staring at the moon wondering about the world. 'Why is this world so full of evil? There's one blossom and that's the only beauty I've seen.'

'But you haven't seen true beauty, Gaara. There was never, is never, and will never be a humanly beauty. The only true beauty there has ever been is the tree from which I came. Both in power and stature was it magnificent until the greed of humanity began to wither it away. So to make up for it, there are people like you, to destroy this evil race of humans. That has been the tailed beast's only purpose, and so it is your purpose now.'
'It is indeed. And I shall bring it forth through my next deed, ending their misery in this world.'

"Senbon rainstorm. Well I'll make it rain blood." Terror stretched on his opponents faces, giving Gaara a sense of satisfaction. The new satisfaction that pleased both him and Shukaku. The satisfaction of blood. Nothing was better now. He hadn't even been away for that long, but he had almost forgotten about any other pleasure he once had as a child. The event that now drove him to be so deadly was him learning of his own assassination from his uncle. Nothing could replace this lonely feeling. 'No one loves me. Even she didn't. When we were separated, she stopped looking at me. She owes me everything for getting her out of that cell that she so rightly deserved.

'These guys are pitiful compared to you. You're doing very well, Gaara.'
'I don't need your recognition Shukaku. I am doing this for me.'
"Gaara, what is going on with you? They're not even from the Leaf. What's against them? We only need their scroll. Just get it and get out of here."
'It's too late now. They're dead. And I'll do the same to the rest of humanity as well.'

It was finished, the final attack those water ninjas saw. Kankuro finally spoke after his brother's blood rain killing. "Gaara, we should be heading to the tower now. We don't need anymore scrolls so killing would be useless now..."
"No, we're doing things the way I want."
"Don't be so stubborn. At least show your older brother some respect..."
"I've never thought of you as my siblings. If you get in my way... I'll kill you."
"G-Gaara cut it out, please." Temari had now butt in. "Don't say something so cold. As a favor to your sister... okay?"
'Calm down for now Gaara. Save your rage for the ultimate assassination.'
'Fine, but I will drink humanity's blood.' With that telepathically spoken to his demon, he walked away.

"Let's make camp now," Kankuro suggested.
"Good idea Kankuro," Temari agreed.

As they sat under the tree root shelter, Temari and Kankuro sat near the center of the tree where some roots dug into the ground as a central support. There were barely enough cracks to be able to look up and watch the stars. Laughing and conversing, that's what the two of them now did so often. Now, it was starting to annoy him; their happiness, enjoyment in this world.

"How could you two laugh in the middle of such an important mission." Kankuro sat up and looked over to his brother seeing him as stiff as a board, not even trying to relax. "Just chill for once. It helps your body recuperate."
"I don't need recuperation. Don't tell me what to do."
"Gaara, what's gotten into you?" Temari now sat up, worry covering her previously laughing face quicker than Gaara could summon sand. "We've been trying to help you. We've even helped you get her out of..."
"I don't care about her anymore! I don't care about you, Kankuro, or anybody for that matter. This life is scum and I'm going to clean it with red. You two can be the first if you want.
"Gaara! But... then what have we ever been? We've tried to be friends, we've tried showing our love..."
"If you've been trying to show love then YOU'VE FAILED MISERABLY! None of you know what love is. The one person who ever knew it was killed by me and you know it!"
"Gaara," Temari said calmly and gently, "I knew mom the longest. I am the oldest." She had her head hung low now, trying to hide her obvious tears of memories. "She loved us all. More than flowers love bees. You should have seen how she held me, Kankuro, even you..."
"Just so I could take her revenge on the village. She hated what they did and I was born as her revenge. And I will be the revenge of the world. I will kill all those who made this world a dump and you'll then begin to appreciate me. You've known what I've been raised for, as a weapon, and you had me in your control. Well now I'm not yours and I will kill you both one of these days.
"Gaara, enough of this nonsense! Go rest and keep guard for tonight and at least let as sleep."
"You piss me off the most Kankuro! I just told you you don't control me anymore, now quit it. You go to bed." And he left to the other end if the root canopy while the rest of them shrugged and fell to sleep, hurt by the event that just occurred.

Gaara was trying to contemplate all his feelings: which were really his or Shukaku's? He thought at one point Hinata actually meant something to him, but now she seemed to be a type of hindrance. 'Gaara, she is nothing. She's done nothing, causing only trouble and instability. Forget her and fulfill your purpose.'

Deep breath 'Ok. I will. I need to.'

Suddenly, a shrill scream came from right in front of where he was, just a few meters out. He walked over to see what blood was being spilled for him to observe. Yet suddenly, he went to fight the cloud ninja attacking the leaf girl. It did not take long, as he simply strangled him with his sand. He turned 180ยบ to see the source of his actions. A little girl with silky, flowing dark hair with lavender eyes. "Hinata?"

The girl was terrified. She trembled with wide eyes to see her monstrous savior. "M-m-my name's Hanabi."

"Oh goodness, I'm so sorry. I-I confused you for someone else! Forgive me. Oh goodness, I-I shouldn't have..."
"You shouldn't be sorry for saving me! That's just rude!" and she quickly stood up and made a stomp for his foot, however his sand guarded it. He began to cross his arms again and put on a serious face again.

"You have a relative here, don't you."
"Um, y-yes. In fact I do..."
"Who is he. Where is he."
"I-I don't know, but he's my cousin, Hyuga Neji..." She started to tremble again.

"Thank you. And don't wander from your group next time." He quickly jumped out of sight, leaving young Hanabi shocked, startled, and released. 'Thank goodness he didn't kill me like those water ninja.'
