Chapter XXXVIII
"Otsutsuki, destroy the world? Just what the heck are you talking about?!" Naruto asked angrily.
"I am the direct descendant of the great Hamura Otsutsuki and I came here to take my bride, my byakugan no hime who will help me rebuild the great Otsutsuki clan again in a new world I will create after I destroy your world." He then turned to Sasuke, "Is my hime at home now Uchiha?" Toneri asked in a mocking tone before flashing his handsome smile.
"My hime?" Sasuke thought to himself and then it hit him.
"Shit..." Sasuke cursed as he realized what the freak was talking about, "Hinata, he's after her!"
"What?" Naruto asked in disbelief how could this Toneri guy go after Hinata.
"Shin make them busy for a while."
"No way I'm letting you near her!" Sasuke growled and his sharingan changed into mangekyo sharingan.
Just when Sasuke is about to lunge himself towards the floating Toneri, Shin appeared directly in front of him. Sasuke's mangekyo sharingan glaring against Shin's rinnegan and then two got into a heated battle of taijutsu.
"Don't worry Sasuke I'll go to Hinata-chan." Naruto said when he saw Sasuke and Shin battling each other.
"Not a chance Uzumaki, rise!" Toneri lifts his left arm and the ground shook violently.
"What's happening?"
After a minute of the ground shaking, the ground was cut into two where a large stone golem is slowly emerging from the place where the ground is cut into two. The golem growled before stomping its feet shaking Konoha once again completely destroying the building and houses in the Konoha district.
"How dare you do this to Konoha!" Naruto focuses his chakra and transforms into kyuubi mode before summoning Kurama.
"Kurama, enjoy yourself fighting that golem!" Naruto said and flew towards Toneri, however Shin's duplicate he produced earlier blocked him mid-air and fought with him.
"About time, I'm getting bored with my lack of action lately." Kurama said and growled before running towards the golem ready to pounce on it, however the golem is matching Kurama's strength as it easily blocks the punch the kyuubi delivered.
Near the battleground Konoha shinobi forces are working double time fighting off Toneri's men and evacuating remaining villagers to the underground where they could be kept to safety.
"Status?" Kakashi asked as he looks at the events happening in his village from above the roof of the hokage tower.
"Not good, Naruto and Sasuke are fighting against Shin and Kurama is fighting against a golem Toneri summoned."
Kakashi clenched his fists tightly, he wanted to help Naruto and Sasuke but being the hokage his priority is his village. "How about the number of injured, dead, damage status?"
"We haven't heard anything from the medical center yet, they must be busy now healing the injured. As for the damage status, Konoha district is totally destroyed."
"Something's happening in the district." Suigetsu said noticing the ground shaking violently and the smoke coming from the district.
"Suigetsu, prepare yourself we may have to defend Hinata-san." Jugo said as he opens and clenches his fists.
"About time." Suigetsu said and drunk all of the water contents of his container in one gulp.
Having enough of Shin constantly blocking his taijutsu, Sasuke unsheathes his katana and infuses it with chidori.
"Sword of Kusanagi: Chidori Katana! I should have killed you before!" Sasuke said before attacking Shin.
Shin activates his asura path and transforms his right arm into a long blade of a katana and mocked Sasuke, "Then why didn't you? You should have killed me before despite your wife's protests."
Electric currents coming from Sasuke's katana clashed with Shin's blade as they are now battling in kenjutsu supremacy. Sasuke's kenjutsu skills are on par with Shin's as neither one are getting the upper hand.
"I don't really care about what happened I just want his plan to end!" Shin said and delivers a swift kick to Sasuke's leg making him loss his balance for a second and proceeds to hit Sasuke's side but Sasuke is fast enough to push himself away from the ground.
"Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique!" Sasuke creates small fireballs in his left hand and tosses it towards Shin in rapid succession to distract him and create and opening for him to hit his sword directly at him.
Shin manages to evade the fireballs but what Sasuke did next was not expected as he suddenly appears behind him while he was busy evading his fireballs and slashes his back with chidori katana electrocuting him.
"Hinata's mine and not you or Toneri can take her away from me." Sasuke said venomously as he stares down at the still electrocuted Shin on the ground.
Recovering from Sasuke's attack, Shin laughed and leaped a few meters away from him.
"Whatever you say Uchiha." Shin activates his animal path and summons three large black dogs almost the size of a kyuubi. The three dogs growled before storming towards Sasuke.
Sasuke smirks before tossing his chidori katana at the top of the head of the first dog coming on him dropping it to the ground, he next targeted the second dog that almost bites him but he manages to prevent it from biting him by pushing the upper jaw upwards.
With only one hand he performs necessary hands seals quickly to release big balls of fire from his mouth to the mouth of the dog burning it from inside.
Finishing off the second dog he punches the third dog in between its eyes with a fully charged chidori. After defeating Shin's last dog, Sasuke pushes himself from its head to go towards Toneri who is silently observing their fight from above.
Shin was caught off guard for a moment for he also watches how Sasuke fight off his dogs, without wasting any moment he returns to his asura path and changes his right arm into a canon and aimed it at Sasuke who is speeding towards Toneri.
"Asura attack!" A large ball of chakra was shot from his arm directly aimed at Sasuke.
Sasuke stopped mid-air when he felt it closing on him, however it was so close to him that he can't summon susanoo in time to block it for him.
"Fuck." Sasuke muttered before the chakra ball hit him and he dropped to the ground in a huge impact where the debris falls on him.
"You will never hit me Uchiha." Toneri said before disappearing.
The rookie 9 saw what happened to Sasuke and are all worried for him. Even though they want to rush to his aide they are also having a hard time dealing with Toneri's men.
"Sasuke!" Naruto called worriedly when he saw what happened, he was busy defending himself from Shin's duplicate attacks that he wasn't able to save Sasuke from the attack. Due to his short distraction, Naruto didn't notice that the duplicate he is facing puffed out and the real Shin appeared in front of him and delivered a strong punch to his face almost breaking his jaw.
"Focus on your opponent Naruto not worrying yourself on others!" Shin mocked and pounded Naruto in the face with his fists.
Kurama is also having a power struggle against Toneri's golem who equals his strength despite wanting to help his jinchuruki.
"Damn, this cluster of rocks is strong. Fight back Naruto!" Kurama growled.
"Stop it Shin this is not like you." Naruto said in between his punches he reverted back into his normal mode earlier for he is hesitant in fighting against Shin.
Shin stopped attacking Naruto and lifted him off the ground, "Why Naruto what am I like?"
Naruto still manages to grin despite his hurting face.
"Our friend, not our enemy."
Shin paused for a second and dropped Naruto to the ground thinking about the word friend and what does it mean. How could Naruto still consider him a friend despite being cold towards him betraying their trust in him and releasing his master who wants to take Hinata and destroy their world? But then he remembered the reason why he was doing this in the first place and it steeled his heart this is the only way…
"Shut it I didn't ask you to make me your friend. You and Hinata are the same you value others before valuing yourselves and now look where it will lead you!" Shin retuned to Naruto angrily.
"But you are our friend Shin…" Naruto slowly stands up to his feet.
"I said shut it!" Shin changes into his deva path and releases a black sphere from his hands that draws everything in its surroundings until it created a miniature planet of clustered matter.
"No...you can still stop Shin it is not too late!" Naruto changes back into kyubi mode to prepare in defending himself.
Shin suddenly drops his hands and the planet he created immediately descended towards Naruto.
With a planetary rasenggan in his right hand, Naruto flies towards Shin's attack to destroy it. Naruto manages to destroy Shin's attack, after destroying it Shin appeared behind Naruto catching the blonde off guard and with a black rod in hand Shin stabbed him with it that quickly drained his chakra in the process returning kurama back to his vessel.
"Shin…" Naruto's last word before dropping to the ground unconscious.
"No…not even you Naruto." Iruka said worriedly when he saw Naruto defeated.
"Piston Fist: Style One!" Jugo said when he felt someone closing in them and his right arm transformed into jet booster like arm.
"Water Release: Great Water Arm Jutsu!" Suigetsu's arms increased in mass and went into fight stance.
"Only two and here I am thinking Uchiha will guard my hime well." Toneri said with a smirk when he appeared above Jugo and Suigetsu.
Both Jugo and Suigetsu leaped off the ground to reach Toneri and hit him with their fists. Toneri moulds his chakra into two green colored spheres and tosses them to Jugo and Suigetsu that entirely absorbs their chakra dropping them and their chakra infused spheres to the ground with a loud thud shaking the Hyuga summer house on impact
Toneri slowly descends down and walks inside the house to search for Hinata.
Hinata who had been sleeping slowly woke up when she felt the house shake. "What happened? Sasuke-kun, Naruto?"
Hinata went out of her room and towards the summer house courtyard where she saw Toneri standing in the middle of the garden smiling at her. For the first time the last prince of the Otsutsuki clan meets the byakugan princess...
"I've been waiting for this moment when I will finally meet you byakugan no hime." Toneri said with a smile while his blue pupils stare into Hinata's white ones.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?"
Author's Note: Thanks for the reviews, follows, and favorites and to those reading SH. I updated this chapter a day earlier because I will be busy tomorrow and I hope you all liked this chapter. Some elements from the movie Naruto: Last Movie like Toneri's character however I didn't like how weak he seemed to be in the movie despite having the tenseigan and such so I will be releasing his full potential here.
