Chapter 26: France

Claire's POV.

July 2021.

The next five days were spent packing my bags for France and celebrating my University placement with my family. I was ridiculously excited for my trip, not only because I was going to see the Black's and Clearwater's, but also because I hadn't actually went on a holiday outside of America. My parents didn't earn a lot of money and any extra mostly went into a savings account for Nora and I's college fund. We went on small family holidays to places like Portland or Vancouver, but I had never been on a foreign holiday or a plane.

"What about this dress? Have I got enough dresses?" I asked Gabby, showing her a short blue thing I didn't even remember buying. She had come around this-morning to help me stuff everything I needed into a medium-sized black case.

"I think so…I think you need more shorts," she peered into my suitcase with a smirk.

My cell phone rang and I hung the blue dress back up to answer it.

"Hello?"

"Claire, Alice says pack more bikinis and tops," Behati's musical voice giggled. "She just had a vision of you. You also need more sandals."

"Thanks," I sighed, repeating to Gabby what she had said. Gabby whizzed around my room picking things out for me and folding them neatly into the case. "Did you know about France?"

"Know about it? I helped Alice book it," she replied. "Do you really think Quil knows anything about how to book a flight?"

"No, I suppose not."

"I've talked to the Black's and Clearwater's over Skype. They seem really cool. Aurora even said when I get my thirst control down I can go over and see them. Though, it'll have to be in the winter, I sparkle like a fucking disco ball in the sun now."

I laughed and folded another top into my case. "Where are you know? Are you still in Forks?"

"No, the Cullen's have brought me to their place in Canada. There's snow everywhere, dude. Emmett and I had a massive snowball fight yesterday on the top of a mountain. It was awesome until Emmett fell off."

"Is he okay?"

"He's a vampire, of course he is. There is some perks of being a vampire, you know."

I smiled, it sounded like she was adjusting more to her new lifestyle. We talked for a while longer and then I handed the phone over to Gabby. They laughed in the background while I finished off my packing, making sure I had all the make-up and hair products I would need. Once done, Gabby and I went out for dinner together then went to the movies. Just as I got home, Quil called me.

"Have you finished packing?" he asked in that sexy voice of his.

"Yeah, now I have to sit for two days and try to contain my excitement."

"It'll be Sunday before you know it."

We talked until midnight when I yawned loudly and Quil made me go to bed. The next day I spent with my parents to sweeten them up, they weren't happy about me going to a foreign country without them. I reasoned with them that at least they knew with me, they hadn't known Nora had gone to Amsterdam until she came back with gifts and a suntan. They agreed I was better at giving them information and ordered in a pizza and rented a movie together. I had to get up at five for the flight, which was at twelve, but I didn't complain. I was too ecstatic for anything to ruin my mood.

"We're going to France!" I sang as Quil, Collin and Gabby pulled up outside. They were dropping us off at the airport and then spending four days in Seattle together. "Are you as happy as I am?" I beamed, jumping into his arms.

"I don't think that's possible, Claire," he laughed, swinging me slightly. "But I am pretty psyched."

I rolled my eyes at this lack of emotion. I knew he was thrilled about going to France, he hadn't seen Jake or Seth for almost four years and he missed them. However, he was trying to play down his anticipation because he didn't want people to think he was stupid, which made him even more stupid.

Quil and I sat in the back of Collin's truck holding hands, I eagerly shuffled in my seat and was almost bouncing up and down when we pulled outside the airport. I hugged Collin and Gabby goodbye, promising I would bring them something back from my travels while dragging Quil into the large building. The wait to get on the plane was excruciating. Every time a flight was called I would jump to my feet only for Quil to pull me back down, saying it wasn't out flight to board. Finally, they called our flight number and we boarded the plane with the other passengers.

I slept for a long portion the flight on Quil's shoulder, only awaking when the flight attendants came to collect rubbish. An hour and a half was left so I amused myself with the games on my cell phone, switching it off when it was our time to land.

"Are they going to move?" I hissed impatiently as the other passengers leisurely collected their things and strolled off the plane.

"Patience, honey," Quil snorted.

Even though he had called me honey, which sent my knees knocking, he couldn't calm me. I was practically vibrating as we ran to collect our suitcases from the turmoil. We were getting a cab to where the Black's and Clearwater's lived, an extra hour onto our journey so I was eager to get going. I absorbed the old buildings and extravagant churches we passed on our way there. France looked beautiful, even from inside a cab.

"We're here," Quil grinned, taking my attention from the window.

The man turned left and then a gorgeous cream stone house appeared in front of me. I squealed and flew from the cab the second he pulled up. The dark wooden door burst open and Aurora and Nessie ran down the pavement to elope me into a tight hug.

"Oh Claire," Aurora took my head and beamed. She skilfully twirled me and I laughed. "You're so grown up, so beautiful."

"We've missed you so much," Nessie smiled.

"I missed you guys too."

I looked over my shoulder to check Quil was okay to see him involved in a serious man hug with Seth. They switched over, allowing Jake and Quil to grab each other. Quil and Jake carried out suitcases into the house and placed them in the entrance room.

"We've arranged for you to stay with Anna," Jake told us as we went into the living room. "She lives at the end of the road, has a farm and stuff, but she runs a little B&B too."

"Thanks man," Quil said happily.

In the middle of the living room were two children playing with a load of toys and three babies in a cot. The oldest kid looked up and I realized it was Harry. He grinned widely at me, his smile so similar to Seth's I had to laugh.

"Hey Claire," Harry greeted, coming over to hug me. His head was already near my breast bone.

"Hey kid, how are you?"

"Hungry."

"We've been waiting for you to eat," Seth explained, ruffling his son's dark brown curls. "He was almost eating the carpet when you pulled up."

Chuckling, I gave Harry another hug just for being so cute. As Jake, Seth and Quil went into the kitchen to set up the table, Nessie and Aurora pulled me over to the carpet.

"Claire, this is my daughter, Iris," Aurora motioned towards the small blonde in the cot who looked around one-year-old.

"She's beautiful, Aura," I said truthfully.

"And these are the twins," Nessie said, smiling down at the two raven-haired babies with startling emerald eyes. "The eyes are from my dad when he was human," Nessie explained when I looked for a little too long. "My parents were thrilled."

Dinner was set up soon after and we squished around the table to eat from the uncountable plates that were set out. I ate until I felt as if I would pop and then helped Nessie and Seth with the dishes. Afterwards, we sat on the sofas and played video games and board games with the kids while keeping up conversation about each other's lives. At eight Aurora and Nessie showed up to the farmhouse we would be staying for the next two weeks. Anna, and older woman with salt and pepper hair, led us to a shed outside. I started to worry that we would be camping with the chickens until she opened the door, revealing a quaint room with a king size bed and a small bathroom attached to the back.

"Here you go," she said with a think French accent. "Call me if you need anything."

She left, leaving Quil and I to get acquainted with the room. It was full of pictures and photos of animals and sunsets, and an old oak wardrobe was tucked in the corner with a large bowl of popery on top. I flicked off my shoes and curled my toes into the fluffy cream rug near the bed.

"This is so cute," I whispered. "Look at the view."

Outside the window I could see for miles, trees and fields filled my vision with various animals scattered around. Quil stood behind me, his heat radiating onto my back as he looked out. I twisted in his arms and he looked down at me intensely.

"Thanks for bringing me here, Quil," I said. "I love it, especially seeing them all again."

"It's no problem. You deserve it."

He placed his hands on my waist and I arched into him. "There's no one I'd rather be here with," I murmured truthfully.

Instantly, his warm lips were on mine. I reached up and wrapped my arms around his neck, moving on my tiptoes to give me more height. I thought that would be it, that he would stop us like he always did, however, he brought me closer to him, our bodies pressed together like magnets. I couldn't stop the moan that left my throat when his tongue ran across my lips. I parted my lips and let my tongue attentively search for his until they collided, a spark firing from the meeting point.

I gently pushed his chest so we stumbled back and fell on the bed. Feeling daring, I straddled him, my hands curling in his hair as our tongues battled together manically. There was an electric charge between us so strong I thought the shed would start to shake. When the need for oxygen became too much, I detached myself from him and left small kisses along his jaw. I wasn't ready to stop yet.

"Claire," he chuckled as I left kisses on his forehead.

"Yeah?" I asked innocently.

"What are you doing?" he cupped my face and the look in his eyes, the love and desire, made my heart drop. I couldn't answer him, words seemed to fail me when I looked into his eyes. His beautiful, dark brown eyes I would love for the rest of my life. "You're so beautiful," he breathed, stroking my cheek.

"So are you."

He laughed. "You also come out with the strangest things," he shook his head fondly. "But I love that about you."

"Well, thanks," I smirked.

He kissed me softly and gently urged me onto my feet. I got changed into my shorts and top for bed and climbed under the covers, waiting for Quil to return so I could cuddle into his side. We fell asleep holding each other and I knew that was how I wanted it every night from then on.

We spent the first week exploring France and its beauty with Jake, Nessie, Seth and Aurora while Marianne, a local woman with a little girl of her own, looked after the kids. We took photos together, ate large meals in posh restaurants, visited local parks and explored old buildings. Our days were packed so Quil and I hardly got time together and by the time we retired to our room we were too tired to even speak to each other. However, Quil and I agreed we wanted to spend the last week of our vacation in Routot with the Black's and Clearwater's at their houses.

The Clearwater's had a pool in their backyard and Harry, with his puppy dog green eyes and cute dimpled smile, convinced me to play around in it with him. We threw a ball around for a while and then practised different jump techniques in the deep end. Iris sat at the edge in an adorable pink swimsuit and I went over and picked her up, only for Quil to jump into the pool behind me. I screamed lightly as the water splashed around us and Harry laughed.

"Quil!" I cried brightly.

He grinned at me, now soaking wet from head to toe. "Sorry girls."

Iris beamed in response and I glared at him for winning her over so quickly. However, as I watched Quil and Harry mess around in the water my mind couldn't help but slip to the future, in which I hoped Quil and I would have children. Watching him with Harry, and later Lizzie who desperately wanted to play with us, only made my thoughts on children increase. I wasn't ready for them now, but in a few years' time I wondered if Quil and I would be at that stage in our lives. Then again, we would probably still be just kissing.

As Iris, Arabella and Judy played with dolls and toys poolside and Harry ran into the house for a lollipop, Quil walked over to me. I expected him to smile or something, however, he took me into his arms and dropped a long kiss on my lips. I sucked in a breath through my nose in shock as I responded enthusiastically.

"I love that bikini on you," he whispered lowly.

My stomach churned as I peered down at the black and white striped bikini I wore. It was the same one I had worn the day we kissed for the first time. He winked at me and then walked away, leaving me stood open mouthed staring after him.

"So how's it going with Quil?" Nessie asked me later that night while we sat in the Black house living room. The Black's lived across the road from the Clearwater's in a slightly smaller, dark stoned house. We had left the guys to look after the kids while we had a girly night.

"It's going good," I shrugged, taking another sip of wine, I was legal to drink in France. "But we're taking it slow."

Nessie groaned. "Jake said that with me, too. It's the worst."

"I know," I whined. "I want more, so much more and he keeps stopping it."

"You have to take charge, sweetie," Nessie advised and I sat straighter to listen. She was like me, she had been imprinted on when she was a baby and didn't know a life without her imprint. She had gone through the same emotions and turbulences as Quil and I, obviously slightly faster and a little different. "When things get a little heavy and he stops it, don't let him. Keep kissing him and he'll break."

"Really?"

"Yeah, Jake tried to wait after I came back from Nahuel's, saying he didn't want to 'rush' me," she used air quotes. "It was fine at first, I was still rather mad at him, but after a while I got frustrated."

"If there's one thing I know, it's that you wouldn't be ready if he wasn't," Aurora patted my hand. "That's how the imprint works. You're connected fully, your emotions are his emotions. He's just being the usual protective imprinter and overthinking things. You need to let him know you want it, honey, and then he won't have anything to argue with himself over."

After finishing our bottle of wine, we headed back over to the Clearwater's. Quil and I headed home after dinner, Aurora sent me a wink and Nessie gave me the thumbs up. What they had said actually really helped me. Honestly, I was sick of waiting, I loved Quil, I wanted him in every way. And if we were as connected as he said we were, surely he knew that and felt the same.

When we got in Quil switched the T.V. on and found one of the three English channels that were available through the satellite. I buried myself into his side, my mind replaying what Aurora and Nessie had said to me.

When I propped myself up to look at him he leaned down to peck my lips but I grabbed the back of his head, keeping him in place. He responded, quickly rolling himself on top of me so our tongues could battle together more defiantly. I moaned and racked my hands through his thick hair as my body tingled. My breath was gone and it seemed Quil's was, too, as he pulled away and rested his forehead against mine. He smiled and went to pull away, but I held him where he was and looked him in the eyes.

"I'm ready, Quil," I whispered. "I want to be with you, please. I don't want to take it slow anymore."

"What—"

"We're meant to be together and I'm sick of waiting. I love you Quil, so much, and I want to be with you."

He paused and I reckoned he was going to say no and my heart broke. "You've never said that before," he murmured thickly.

"What?"

"You've never told me you loved me before."

I hadn't even realized it until that moment, but he was right. I had just assumed he knew I loved him, more than I thought was possible for my small heart. I had loved him since I was two, in a different way, obviously. But the love had always been there.

"I do, Quil," I professed. "I love you so much."

"I love you, too."

My heart squeezed at his words because though he had said it to me in the past, this time it felt different. This time he was in love with me. He didn't love me as a friend or a sister, he loved me like Jake loved Nessie, how Seth loved Aurora. After all this time and the endless wait of wanting to hear him say it, the words seemed to make the world much lighter.

He leaned down to kiss me again and I eloped his body with my arms. His body was between my legs and I bent them, letting him fall between me. He left my lips and I almost cried out, until I felt them on my neck. I gasped and gulped, his lips leaving a burning trail as he kissing along my collar bone. His rough hands softly slid up my thighs and I groaned at the sensation.

"Claire, are you sure?" he asked as my floral sundress fell against my waist, revealing my bikini bottoms.

"More than sure," I replied.

He smiled at me, a soft, loving smile that made me melt beneath him. He swiftly pulled my dress over my head and threw it to the floor, leaving me in the bikini. I clawed at his t-shirt until I managed to disregard it with shaky hands, my fingertips instantly going back to the smooth skin of his chest and abdomen. He let out a noise between a moan and a sigh and leaned down to kiss me again, his hands moving to touch anything he could reach and I arched into his warmth.

I sat up suddenly and undone the neck tie of my bikini and then the back clasp. He watched me with lust filled curiosity as I let the limp and slightly damp material fall beside me. His eyes darkened at my naked chest and though I should have been self-conscious, I wasn't. I trusted Quil with my life and the fact that we were about to sentiment our relationship together just made me want to burst with happiness.

He lunched forward until I was laid back on the soft bed again and his mouth covered my breast. I let out a shrill moan as his lips covered my left nipple, scraping my nails on the bed sheet. He moved to the right one and I groaned loudly and didn't care if someone heard me. He came back up to kiss my lips and one of his hands trailed down my stomach and into the band of my bikini bottoms. I thrust into his hand, which made it slip further into the material until his brushed against my most aware area.

"Quil," I sighed breathlessly.

I was fully aware of his want for me as he moved up to drop a kiss behind my ear. His hardness pressed against my naked thigh and I panted, moving my hips against him fervently. He hissed in my ear and I groaned throatily. He rocked back to his knees and kissed my ankle, knee and then thigh before he kissed my pelvic bone. He peeked up at me and I nodded. Gulping audibly, he hooked his fingers either side of the bikini bottoms and slowly slid them down my legs until they landed somewhere near my dress.

I blushed then, achingly aware I was naked before him. However, the lust and desire in his eyes calmed my nerves slightly but my heart was pounding in my ears. He fell back against me so our lips could do a heated dance as his hands slid up and down the curves of my body.

I was soaked for him, a pool of desire was clinging in my most intimate place all because of him. His hand slid around my hip and over my thigh until I felt his hand exactly where the desire had built for him.

"I—this is going to hurt, Claire," he grumbled, he didn't like that at all. He watched me, as if waiting for me to tell him to stop. Instead, I thrashed against him. He licked his lips and pushed a finger inside me—nothing had been inside me before, but his finger felt right.

"More," I demanded eagerly. He did as requested, adding another finger, this time it hurt a little. Sharp pain shot from my core to my abdomen. I bit my lip as he moved his hand at a steady, slow pace. Each time he moved forward he stretched me a little more it and was rather painful.

"Are you okay?" he panted, looking down at me with fire in his eyes. I moaned in reply as his fingers curled, hitting something I didn't even know I had. He hit it again and again until any pain I felt disappeared and was replaced by a wonderful pleasure that had me seeing stars. I held onto his shoulders and threw my head from side to side as he kissed down my neck.

To my disappointment, he pulled his fingers out, but I wasn't too disheartened for long as he stood and pulled his swimming trunks down, freeing himself. He was large and thick and I felt my heart leap in my throat at the sight of him. As he placed himself at my entrance, I started to take deep breaths. I tried to calm myself but I was at such a high at that point I felt as though I was flying.

He searched my face, asking permission to go ahead. Panic surged inside me again. I glanced down at him and inhaled sharply, nodding for him to continue.

"Oh-oh—OH!" the pain was really bad at first, I felt as though people were trying to split me into two. My face must have showed pain because Quil stopped and looked down at me worriedly. I leaned up and kissed him because he was perfect and mine and, damn, I loved him.

The pain was forgotten for a moment as I laid back down. I concentrated on Quil's movements to distract me from the current hurt I was feeling below.

In. Out. In. Out.

It took a while, but the pain subsided slightly and was replaced with subdued bliss. I was hypnotized by Quil above me, his chest wide, defined and a beautiful coppery colour. His pace increased along with the pleasure and I moaned loudly. Places in my body were coming alive, places I didn't even know I had. It was if my body had been doormat from the moment I was born and now...now I was alive.

He pushed deeper and I whimpered at the new feelings, feelings I had never felt before and couldn't begin to explain. I dug my nails into his shoulders and curled my leg around his waist. The pain had pretty much gone now, all I was knew was that Quil was releasing something inside me that had fireworks going off in my head.

"D-don't stop." It had meant to come out nicely, however, it came out as more of a demand. I opened my eyes to apologize to him but saw his wide grin and happy eyes. I smiled back at him because I couldn't help it, he was so perfect and gorgeous. He leaned down to kiss me passionately and I knew he was enjoying it. Not only the act of sex, which my sister said every guy enjoyed, but my reactions to him. The way I withered, moaned and sighed with pleasure, and how he was taking me to a place no one else had and I hadn't even known existed.

He looked down at me after he broke the kiss with the expression all imprints had—like I was a precious diamond or a fine piece of art. He was memorized by me.

I arched my back and the new position hit that thing inside me that had me tipping over the edge. My body began to hum and I was almost vibrating. A lightning bolt of intense pleasure pulsed through me until I was clenching and moaning.

"Ahhh!" I gasped, my climax suddenly coming to an unbelievable peak. My nails dug into his back, a loud, brutal moan left my throat, and I saw fucking stars. Behati had talked about orgasms before, but even with the words she had used (amazing, magical, fucking fantastic) didn't do it justice. All my nerves were singing and dancing, my brain clouding until all I was aware of was pleasure.

Quil grunted and kissed the crook of my neck as I started to come down from the beautiful intensity of my first climax. Suddenly, Quil thrust into me twice, harder than ever before. He burst into me and collapsed, kissing my chest where his head was. I laughingly smiled at him, grabbing his face with my hands and dropping a light peck onto his lips. He rolled over to stop himself from squishing me and pulled me with him. I laid half on top of him, completely out of breath and my head ringing.

I kissed his bicep and closed my eyes, exhausted from everything that had happened, falling asleep with a massive grin on my face.
