Chapter XLI
Sasuke stares at the space as the glowing ember reflects on his empty onyx orbs. The lone Uchiha was feeling the emptiness, solitude and gloaming inside his heart. The absence of light in Sasuke's life turning his life into a miserable mess.
How can this happen to him? Even with everyone trying to comfort him even with Naruto sitting next to him. Assuring him that they can work together on bringing Hinata back. He still wasn't sure if his (and their) effort is enough to bring her back. As their new adversary is undoubtedly powerful than they can imagine thus far.
Now almost a month since that cursed day where each passing day is a torment without her. He sighed deeply with only his tattered poncho to keep him warm hugging it close to his body waiting for a new day to come.
Hinata moves away from the taller man only to see a confident smirk plastered on his handsome face. After he told her his plans for the new world he's going to create (with her). How can this happening now after they fought so hard for peace and freedom against Madara. However, someone is again threatening to destroy their world and take her as his wife, just how complicated and twisted that sounds? Hinata trusts her husband and their friend Naruto to defend the world once again so there is no reason for her to worry much, right?
However there is something about Toneri that makes him different from Madara and Hinata can see it through his sapphire eyes the unlimited power he saved throughout his life waiting to be unleashed.
Hinata shook her head, refusing to accept Toneri's plan, "I won't marry you for I am still married to my husband and I love him. I will not let you destroy our world! I will fight and die defending it if I have to!"
Toneri clenched his fists tightly under his sleeves trying to control his jealousy and anger. How could Hinata still remain loyal to her husband when the Uchiha's fate is already set? As for the fate of their world, can she blame him for just following the great Hamura Otsutsuki's celestial degree?
"Refuse all you want Hinata but our fate and the fate of the world is already set before we were even born. (Toneri lifts Hinata's chin to look into her opal eyes at such close range with his blue eyes) You yourself can even feel the pull whenever you look into my eye that is why you are refusing to look at me right?"
Hinata shoves him away, her whole body shaking just from his gaze. As much as she wanted to fight Toneri and sacrifice herself right then she can't for she's also carrying a part of Sasuke with her through the child inside her.
Toneri turns his back on her pinching the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes for a few seconds before opening them again to look back at her.
"You must refrain from arguing with me again or I won't be so forgiving next time." Toneri warned with a controlled tone of voice, as much as he wanted to scream angrily at her he can't. "As for your Uchiha…you just sent him to an early death Hinata-hime."
When Toneri was out of her sight, Hinata falls down on her knees worrying helplessly for her husband that brought tears to her eyes.
When Shin was done preparing his things he'll be bringing for his mission, he looked for his sister Rin to say his goodbye before leaving.
"Rin, where is she?" He asked Sayoko devoid of any emotions.
"She's with Hinata-san, she's been staying with her for a week now." Sayoko said with her head lowered.
"Why is she staying with her?"
"Hinata-san's eating just enough to nourish her baby not for the two of them making her body weak. That is why she's being cooped up in her bed all day with an IV attached to her arm."
"Is she trying to kill herself?" Shin asked himself and went to Hinata's room to look for his sister and to see Hinata's condition for himself.
Upon entering her room, Shin immediately saw his sister holding Hinata's hand laying her beautiful face on her bed worrying for her. Taking another few steps, Shin saw Hinata lying on the bed with an IV fluid attached to her left arm, her skin looked paler than usual, her body is also thinner and the tear stained cheeks of hers didn't miss his lavender coloured eyes.
"Big brother…" Rin called upon noticing his presence and raised her head to acknowledge him inside.
"Rin, I'm leaving again for a mission take care of yourself I won't be long and… don't get attached to her no matter how kinds she's been to you." Shin said softly to his sister looking at her longingly.
Rin gently lays Hinata's hand she's been holding to the bed and wheeled her chair close to his brother where she could feel him and hugged his waist tightly not wanting to let go of him again for a dangerous mission Toneri given him.
"Take care of yourself brother and will you do me a favor?"
Shin kneels to level his face with hers placing his hand on top of her hair, "What is it? Do you want me to bring you something?"
"No. I want you to find Sasuke-san and tell him how much his wife misses her that's all."
"Rin…"
"Please, if you will do that and I tell Hinata-san about it she'll smile again knowing her husband got her message." Rin said holding her brother's hand.
Shin again looks at Hinata and releases a deep sigh, he kissed the top of his sister's forehead and said.
"I'll try but I am not promising anything."
Rin smiled for her brother, knowing him Shin will do it for her.
"Thank you."
Shin looks at his sister for the last time before leaving to fulfil his mission, a mission that will change everything.
Somewhere in the outskirts of Snow Country, Sasuke and Naruto are again facing the same thugs who have been showing up on them fighting with them but before the fight could conclude Toneri's men are always disappearing irking both Sasuke and Naruto to no end.
"You should give up now Uchiha for you will never locate our place." One of Toneri's men said.
Sasuke unsheathes the two swords he's carrying and smirked evilly his sharingan dark red with rage.
Naruto clenched his fists before summoning multiple clones of him.
Sasuke fought with five shinobi's using his chidori katana, however his opponents doesn't seem to have any weaknesses.
"This time you won't escape." Sasuke thought as he defends and attacks the five shinobi at the same time.
While Sasuke and Naruto are searching they also spent time in improving their ninjutsu and even practiced combined attacks and jutsu's when the time to face Toneri comes.
During those times Sasuke mastered combining the black flames of amaterasu to his lightning attacks.
"Amaterasu!" Black flames came out of Sasuke's left rinnesharingan eye and his chidori katana are infused with the black flames of amaterasu. Sasuke then stabbed one of his opponents in the chest where he remembered their marks are placed.
"Argh!" The shinobi he first attacked screamed while being burnt and electrocuted at the same time until nothing is left of him but dust.
"So that is your weakness. Naruto hit them with your rasenggan in their chests that is where their mark is, their weakness!"
Naruto complies and he and his clones produced rasengan in their right hand hitting each of their opponents in the chest.
Sasuke finished off his remaining enemies leaving only to capture it and gather information from it through whatever means necessary. It also tried to escape, but before it could escape Shin who is now wearing a white high collared short sleeve shirt with a zipper and a blue warmers and black coat caught him and killed it by stabbing the chest with his asura path right arm katana.
"If Shin is here then that Toneri guy hideout is nearby Sasuke!" Naruto said while dealing with Toneri's lackeys.
"Don't be in such a rush Uchiha let's play a game first…" Shin said while brandishing his masamune.
"Damn you Shin you dare show your face again in front of me!" Sasuke growled in anger his dojutsu eyes glaring with rage towards Shin who is glaring back at him with his rinnegan.

I know there's been lack of Sasuhina lately and the story seems to have shifted into the action genre, the reason for the sudden shift in the action genre is because it is a test on both Sasuke and Hinata on how much they really love each other by going through this hardship and conquering it.
