Chapter XLV
"Hinata." Sasuke said when he felt a sudden sharp pang at his chest.
"You felt it too?" Naruto asked when he felt something happened to Hinata.
"Hinata, something happened to her!" Sasuke said worriedly and rushed inside Toneri's castle not bothering to listen to Shin's warning of the danger waiting ahead in the maze leading to the main castle.
Naruto and Shin quickly followed behind and when the three of them entered the maze a concrete wall erected in between them separating Sasuke from Naruto and Shin.
"Damn it!" Naruto cursed in frustration and was about to kick the wall but the ground he and Shin are standing at suddenly turned into water engulfing both of them to the bottom.
Sasuke activated his sharingan and tucked away the bangs covering his rinnesharingan looking for anything that can open the concrete wall separating him from his teammates.
"Sasuke." He heard his name being called by Hinata making him stop what he was doing.
Although he wanted to help Naruto and Shin, his priority lies on rescuing Hinata and he's confident in their abilities that they wouldn't need much of his help. He resumed in running through the maze dodging hidden traps activating one by one by each corner he takes
"Have you seen Hinata-san?" Rin asked to her lady companion.
"No, I haven't seen her since Toneri-sama called for her."
"We should look for her."
Sayoko helped push Rin in her wheel chair out of her room but a something is blocking the door.
"What is wrong?" Rin asked worriedly when Sayoko suddenly stopped.
"Something is blocking the door we can't leave your room." Sayoko said frighteningly.
With her hands shaking out of fear Rin gripped the arm rest of her wheel chair.
"Please hurry up brother."
Gasping for air Naruto tried to escape the water jutsu drowning him and Shin by summoning his clones to look for the user of the jutsu. His clones managed to find a seal at the bottom and all of his clones punched the seal all at the same time destroying it sucking all the water inside making the two shinobi escape from being drowned.
Catching their breaths, sound of footsteps closing in on them forced them to ready for the incoming enemies.
Shin immediately readied his masamune while Naruto transformed into his tailed beast chakra mode covering his body into the yellow chakra of the kyuubi.
A hundred number of Toneri's puppets came into view all with the goal of bringing Naruto and Shin's heads to their master.
"They are unlike what we've faced before coming in here, they are the elite puppets of Toneri defeating them is not as easy as those before them." Shin warned, his rinnegan activated ready to strike on his enemies.
"Bring it on!" Naruto challenged on his enemies and does the necessary seals to summon his clones.
Managing through the trap filled maze, Sasuke panted and removed a stray arrow that managed to hit him in his left thigh and broke it with his hand.
A clap and a dark chuckle coming from Toneri made Sasuke run towards Toneri with a fully charged chidori in his left hand, but as Toneri turned around to face Sasuke he forced himself to stop and hit the ground instead creating a shockwave at the ground they are standing at.
"Where's Hinata?" he growled angrily to the sight of Toneri standing above the platform. "Where's my wife?!" he asked once more clenching his fist.
"I don't know…" Toneri shrug his shoulder.
"Don't play dumb with me you bastard?!"
"Sasuke?" the familiar voice freeze Sasuke on his tracks he wanted to move and look over his shoulder to see her for himself but his body wouldn't let him. It's as if he's glued to where he stand.
"Sasuke…" Hinata said hugging Sasuke from behind.
"H-Hina…." Sasuke gasped as he felt a sharp tingling sensation making him push Hinata off him then splattered all over himself and the floor.
"W-Why?" Sasuke asked as he couldn't believe what Hinata just did to him.
"You don't have a right to call me by my name…" Hinata said venomously.
"W-What the hell did you do to Hinata?!"
Toneri's reply was only a dark chuckle and mocked Sasuke, "Why are you afraid of hurting her? What a pity that the only way to set Hinata free is by paying your life in exchange of her freedom."
Hinata who now have purple lion fists attacked Sasuke with her eight trigrams 64 palms that Sasuke can only dodge and avoid, however the increased power in Hinata's lion fists still give him damage despite avoiding himself from being hit directly.
Just like what Shin said, the enemies they are facing right now are not easily defeated that almost equals them in strength and power despite being very powerful shinobis.
"How is he managing to control his puppets despite being far from them?" Naruto asked as he scrambled away from five puppets ganging up in him.
Shin who just summoned his three large dogs to help them in battle said, "His kekai genkai is unlike mine or Sasuke's or even Hinata's, his tenseigan is divine and powerful that he is not easy to defeat and he masters all of nature release making him manipulate any element easily at his own disposal to eliminate his enemies."
"You sure know a lot about him huh." Naruto said as he throws a resenshuriken at his enemies.
"I fought with him once, when I tried to escape from him with Rin." Shin answered shuddering at the memory of his total defeat at the hands of Toneri that almost caused his life.
Narut nodded in understanding, "I see that's why you followed him blindly before."
Shin can only nod and used his shinra tensei to toss of his enemies, "We should hurry and look for Rin, I'm sure Sasuke managed the maze already looking for Hinata."
"Yes, let's all team up and defeat that Toneri guy." Naruto beamed in anticipation of the three of them teaming together to defeat a strong adversary.
Sasuke is still blocking and dodging Hinata's powerful lion fists despite having his arms bruised already by the continuous attacks Hinata is hitting him with the intention of killing him. Having enough of dodging and blocking Sasuke gripped Hinata's wrists with force just enough to stop her from hitting him.
"Hinata snap out of it, I am Sasuke your husband." He said trying to let his voice inside Hinata's soulless body.
Hinata maneuvered her flexible body and delivered a swift kick in Sasuke's chin catching him off guard making him let go of her wrists and Hinata managed to sneak off his katana from his back and stab him directly to his heart.
Sasuke managed to stop the blade with both of his hands, making his palms bleed while Hinata forces the sword closer to his heart. Toneri's words rang through his ear, "What a pity that the only way to set Hinata free is by paying your life in exchange of her freedom." How ironic that Hinata will be the death of the great Uchiha Sasuke who is stubborn to die.
A tear fell from his eye as he let go of the blade and said his last words as the blade stabbed through his heart, "I'm sorry I can't be with you forever Hinata."
Hinata's soul trapped inside the stain glass portrait of her in Toneri's room returned to her body and dropped the katana she was holding and rushed to catch Sasuke's lifeless body before falling to the ground.
"Sasuke, Sasuke please wake up we are together now." Hinata cried while shaking Sasuke's body.
Receiving no response from her husband and feeling his body cold Hinata hugged his body close to her and screamed his name as loud as she could.
"Sasuke!"
Finishing off the last of their enemies Naruto stopped when he felt something happened to Sasuke and heard Hinata's scream, "Sasuke…"
"Naruto snap out of it!" Shin screamed and dragged Naruto who remained frozen still when he felt his best friend and a brother he wanted to have died.
"Damn you Toneri did you use Hinata to kill Sasuke?" Shin thought in anger as he hurried and pulled Naruto inside of the castle to rescue his sister and hurry and revive Sasuke.
Storming through the retainers blocking their way, Naruto and Shin finally reached Rin's room who are trapped inside together with Sayoko with an invisible chakra wall.
"Rin!" Shin called and punched the chakra wall.
"Brother, Hinata-san is she alright? I haven't seen her since Toneri-san left with her and I heard her screaming her husband's name."
"I'll open it, tell them to move further in the room." Naruto volunteered who have a ready rasenggan in his palm.
"No, your attack will only bounce back from the wall I will absorb all the chakra in the wall to open it." Shin said and activated his preta path absorbing the chakra wall.
"Hurry Shin!" Naruto urged, due to some unknown reason he can't use his flying thunder god technique to teleport directly to where Sasuke was.
"Hinata-hime say your last goodbye to Uchiha before we get married and leave this world to destroy it." Toneri said and tried to reach a hand on Hinata's shoulder but the sharp look of anger and hurt coming from her made him flinch and back up a little.
"Sasuke-kun I love you." She kissed his cold lips and placed her hands on top of where Sasuke's main chakra path is and transfers her own chakra to revive him.
"Stop it Hinata, you are going to kill yourself!" Toneri said panicking and tried to pull Hinata away from Sasuke but the chakra covering them like a barrier prevented him from reaching into Hinata. "Damn it!"
Absorbing all the chakra in the barrier, Rin and Sayoko finally managed to get out of the room and Shin immediately hugged his sister, "I'm sorry I'm late Rin."
"It is alright brother." Rin moved her head to where she can feel a strong chakra was coming from, "Who are you with?"
Shin stood up, "Naruto…my friend."
"Really?" Rin asked excitedly. "You are Uzumaki Naruto, Hinata-san and Sasuke-san's friend?"
Naruto looked at the beautiful girl in the wheelchair and felt his cheeks heating up for some unknown reason, "Yes, is Hinata-chan talking about Sasuke and me?"
"Yes, you and all of your friends and your village."
"Rin, we will just rescue Hinata and then we will be finally free just wait a little longer alright?" Shin said and kissed the top of his sister's hair. "Sayoko please bring her outside of the castle I'll meet you there after this is all over."
"Be careful, you also Naruto-san." Rin said smiling.
"Thank you, meet you soon dattebayo!"
Shin muttered "Hn" and run along the hallway with Naruto towards the courtyard where he knew where Sasuke, Hinata and Toneri will be at.
"Hinata please stop it!" Toneri pleaded but fell on deaf ears as Hinata concentrated on giving all of her chakra for Sasuke and revive him.
Hinata felt her body getting weaker every minute as she transfers her chakra to her husband, she thought back on her memories she shared with him and how happy she was on the short time they spent in love.
"This is the least I can do for you Sasuke-kun for making me happy and feel love I never thought I will find with you. I love you please live for me and our unborn child and defeat Toneri and save this world once again. I'm sorry." Hinata said weakly and gave her last ounce of chakra left before falling on top of her husband.
"Hinata did she just…" Naruto stopped from running and felt hot tears coming down from his eyes when he can't feel anything form Hinata anymore.
Shin who also felt it cursed in frustration and placed a hand on top of Naruto's shoulder, "I can revive her we just need to reach her in time."
Naruto nodded and wiped the tears in his eyes hoping and praying to kami that they will reach Hinata in time.
Sasuke slowly opened his eyes seeing Hinata's hair on top of his chest he embraced her but felt her cold lifeless body on top of him.
"No it can't be…not you Hinata. No I can't lose you please." He cried hugging Hinata close to him.
"Hinata…" Toneri called and fell on his knees not believing that his hime died to revive her husband.
Sasuke stood up carrying Hinata in his arms with his eyes closed.
"It is your fault you damn bastard!" Sasuke snarled in anger towards Toneri opening his eyes with blood already mixing in his tears as his complete form susanoo appeared in front of him while his body is covered with the black flames of amaterasu.
