Chapter 31: Planning

Claire POV.

Quil and I are and I are engaged!

It was the only thing I could think of from the moment he proposed to me. From the age of twelve I had dreamed of marrying Quil Ateara and now it was finally coming true! I practically floated during the following weeks, especially after my parent's reaction. I had been nervous that they wouldn't approve but my mom was as excited as my Aunt Emily. They talked all the time about plans for the wedding and were constantly texting with new ideas that they had come up with together. My dad, though not as accepting, also didn't disapprove or try to stop me from marrying Quil. He was more disgruntled that I was getting married than who I was actually marrying. He didn't like that I was growing up and moving on, but there was nothing I could do about that except wait.

When I got back to University, during my spare time, which wasn't much, I planned my wedding. Gabby was a big help due to her skills and what she had learnt from her University lessons. She basically took over, explaining it would be good practice and she could count it as work experience. She knew me almost as well as Quil did, so I trusted her. When I looked back at what she had planned, I loved every one of her ideas. By the time I was about to start my third year of University, my whole wedding was planned.

Gabby showed Quil the ideas and he responded enthusiastically, though I knew he would have said anything was good as long as I loved it. During the summer before my third year, I had basically moved in with Quil and the guys. They accepted me as a fifth roommate and never complained of my presence and I think they even liked having me around. When I was doing my breakfast or laundry, I would always check if they wanted any food or any clothes doing as well. Aiden also liked me to talk to his random sex buddies on a morning and make their one-night-stand morning less awkward.

My parents had come to terms with the fact that I was now living with Quil, they couldn't say anything now we were engaged, and I think they were getting used to me not being around. They had even redecorated my bedroom so now it was a spare room for when I actually did want to spend the night. However, Nora told me she was saving up to get her own place and would be moving out soon, too, and I was dreading my parent's reaction when we both were gone.

For our one year engagement anniversary, Quil took me to Seattle for the weekend after Christmas to stay in a fancy hotel. We only left the room for food in the restaurant and it was amazing. Afterwards, Quil and I talked about when we would officially get married.

"So when do you want to have the wedding?" Quil asked as I picked the melted chocolate from the bedside cabinet. I dipped my finger into the liquid and let it fall onto Quil's abdomen. He ran his hands up and down the sides of my thighs as I ground myself into his member.

"I don't know," I replied, bending down. I stuck my tongue out and sucked the chocolate from his skin. He moaned as I flattened my tongue against his rock hard abdomen and ran it down to his navel. "I think I want a summer wedding," I confessed, sitting up again to get the bowl of chocolate.

Grinning, I pulled down his boxers and poured some of the chocolate onto his semi-hard member. Licking my lips, I shuffled down his body and tucked my hair behind my ears before taking him into my mouth. He hardened immediately and I took his whole length in and suckled, then moved my head so I had only the top of his member in my mouth. I made a circle around the tip and he gripped my hair, moaning my name. He guided my head up and down while I worked my hand to play with his balls and the thick of him.

"Fuck, Claire!" he growled.

I hummed and the vibrations of it pushed Quil to explode. I swallowed the hot liquid and smacked my lips at the familiar salty taste. I hiked myself onto my knees and pulled off my silk nightgown before sinking onto him.

"Urgh, we can have it this summer," he groaned.

"Really?" I gasped, moving up and down on him.

"Yes…shit!"

Obviously, we talked about it more later, when we weren't so desperate to get each other's clothes off. We decided to get married the summer before my fourth, and last, year of University. Originally, I had wanted to wait until I had finished school but I was sick of waiting. I wanted to be Mrs. Claire Ateara as soon as possible. I wanted to be Quil's wife and I wanted him to be my husband, finally devoting ourselves to each other in every way possible.

When I got home I told Gabby of the plans and after yelling and nearly fainting at the closeness of it all, she walked away on the cell phone. Embry and I were in the middle of an epic game of monopoly when she returned, telling me my summer wedding was possible. I hugged and thanked her for ten minutes before returning to the game and kicking Embry's ass.

Gabby and I made the invitations that night with Quil and my Aunt Emily either side of me. Gabby printed them out the next day and Quil and I spent the rest of the week handing them out. Our wedding was set for the 12th of August 2024 and I was counting down the days for it. A few days later I returned to school and finished off an assignment, glancing at my ring every few seconds. Quil had picked the perfect ring for me, I couldn't have chosen a better one myself.

As I daydreamed about the wedding, I realized I still had someone left to invite.

"Hey Claire," Aurora appeared on my laptop screen. Nessie sat next to her with a smile.

"Hey," I replied. "We've booked a date for the wedding."

"We know," Nessie giggled. "Quil was on the phone to Jake yesterday."

"Oh," I muttered. "Sorry it's so late I've been caught up with work and stuff—"

"Oh, honey, it's fine," Aurora waved it off.

I smiled and bit my lip. "I wanted to ask you guys something, actually," I said. "I was wondering…would you be bridesmaids?"

"Of course we will!" Aurora cried excitedly. "Are you sure you want us?"

"Yeah, you're both like sisters to me and you've always made an effort with me since I was a kid. You didn't have to keep in touch when you moved to France and you did…I just love you guys."

"We love you, too, sweetie," Nessie beamed while Aurora dabbed her eyes with her sleeve.

I talked to them for another hour and then went to sleep, I had a test in the morning at the hospital.

A week later Gabby and I were hanging out in her room doing work together. She wanted opinions on a birthday party her mentor had given her for a client and I wanted her to test me on what to do in certain medical crises. While I wrote down a report on a recent case I worked on, Gabby turned to me.

"Do you want me to plan a bachelorette party?" she asked idly. "Because I was thinking about things we could do last night."

"Well, it is your job to plan it, you're the maid of honour," I said.

She snapped her head to look at me. "What? Really?"

"Yeah, I thought you knew," I scrunched my eyebrows together. I figured I had already told her but the more I thought about it, I didn't remember actually asking her.

"No."

"Oh, well, will you be my maid of honour?"

She smiled and leaned forward to hug me over our laptops. "Of course I will," she sniffled. "What about Nora?"

"She's a bridesmaid," I replied, shrugging. "You pretty much planned the whole wedding for me, Gab. You've done a lot for me and you're more involved in my life and the wedding than Nora is. Plus, can you really imagine her as maid of honour? I dread to think about the bachelorette party with her in charge."

She nodded in agreement and we went back to work.

Because of my ridiculously busy schedule, I couldn't get down to La Push to visit, so I had to call my Aunt Emily and ask her if she would also be a bridesmaid. Although I knew it wasn't traditional to have an older Aunt as a bridesmaid, I didn't care. My Aunt Emily had done a lot for me, she had opened up her house and treated me like one of her own. I loved her and wanted to show her how much she meant to me. She cried, I cried and sobbed my thanks to her while she tearfully replied that it was a pleasure. When I finally returned to La Push in March, she ran up to me and gave me a bone-crushing hug which I happily returned.

When I was in my last weeks of school I drove down to La Push with Gabby for the weekend to sort out wedding things. We both spent the first night at the apartment and then headed over to the Uley's the next day for lunch. When we got there it was filled with people like it always was every lunch time on a weekend. Gabby and I sat on the floor near the fire and she dropped the wedding book onto the coffee table

"So we're having roses for the bouquets?" she questioned, opening a page up with pictures of flowers on. "Do you want them for the centrepieces, too?"

"Yeah, but white and yellow for the centrepieces and just white for the bouquet," I replied, taking a bite of a cereal bar from the table. "I think having yellow dresses and yellow in the bouquet would be too much, don't you?"

She nodded and wrote this down on the blank space of the page. I turned to Embry who was sat on the chair with his six-year-old daughter, Adrianna. "How do you feel about wearing a yellow tie, Em?" I asked him innocently.

He grinned at me. "Whatever makes you happy, my precious Claire-bear."

Paul snorted from the sofa. "Did Quil tell you to say that?"

"Yeah," Embry grumbled as Adrianna climbed over his shoulder and squealed brightly. "He threatened me with a spatula."

"I'm just looking forward to seeing Sam in one," Jared sighed, smirking.

"I'll have you know yellow is my colour," Uncle Sam joked as he walked into the living room area with Evelyn on his hip.

They started to mock each other as the backdoor opened and Audrey Grayson walked into the room with her four-year-old twins at her legs. Little Daniel looked over at me with his bright blue eyes and, deciding that he thought I was worthy, he walked over to sit on my knee. I settled him properly and played with the toy truck he had in his hand. Jealous of her twin, Delaney walked over to Gabby and my best friend took the young girl onto her knee, theatrically showing her the wedding book.

As I played with Daniel I started to make noises with the car like I did with the other wolf-kids, but stopped short. Daniel was born deaf and couldn't hear the noises I made. Sighing, I buried my nose into his soft hair, he smelt like honey and had a fruity tinge that I couldn't distinguish. I started to wonder if Quil and I's future and what our children would turn out like. Would one of them be deaf, too? Should I be preparing myself? I knew some sign language from learning when Daniel was only a baby and we were told he was deaf, but I had stopped when I left for University. I should start up again after I finish school.

I suddenly felt very unprepared for my future, especially motherhood. What if I was a bad mom? What if my children hated me?

Quil's loud laughter boomed through the room and I looked up to see him laughing at something Brady said. My fear seemed to fly away. With Quil by my side, I could handle anything. He would help me and support me like he always had. Even if I was a bad mom, I knew Quil would be a fantastic dad. He would know what to do and how to handle things properly.

"Claire, get your laptop out and we'll look at some ideas for the archway," Gabby instructed, interrupting my love-sick daze.

I did as I was told and set the laptop up before handing it over to her. We looked at different types of arches and how to design them to suit your wedding. Daniel giggled when I ran the truck across his stomach and I sighed, he was so adorable. I leaned down and kissed his flushed cheeks just as his dad came over to grab him for his dinner. Blowing him a kiss, I turned back to my laptop to see a call from Skype. Gabby answered it and waved hello to Aurora and Nessie through the webcam.

"Hey Claire, Gabby," Aurora said, smiling. "Listen, we have to tell you something and we don't know if it will affect the wedding or not."

"What is it?" Gabby asked worriedly and I snorted.

"We're pregnant," Nessie stated. "And we don't know if you've picked the bridesmaid dresses or not yet but if they're tight, we're not getting into them."

I chuckled. "You're both pregnant?"

"Yeah," Aurora giggled. "We've both been trying since Christmas and we've fell pregnant at the same time."

"How far along will you be?" Gabby questioned.

"I'll be around five months," Aurora answered.

"And I'll be about four," Nessie added.

"That's fine," Gabby waved it off. "We'll pick the dresses in July when you come down."

"So it's not a problem?"

"Nope."

"Oh, thank God," Nessie laughed. "I was really worried for a minute there."

"Congratulations, though," I said and Gabby nodded beside me. Soon the whole of the room, who had listened to the conversation, were gathering around the webcam to talk to them. Giving up, I gave my laptop to Justin as he walked over and told him to pass it to whoever wanted them next.

I went back to school the next day and tied up the last weeks of my third year. With each day, my excitement doubled, my wedding was getting closer! I packed my things on the last day of school and headed to La Push. I dropped my suitcase in Quil's bedroom and jumped onto him.

"Do you realize our wedding is just over fifty days away?" I beamed joyfully.

"Yeah, I've got it in my diary," he smirked. "The number of days there is left is in the corner of the page."

I chuckled and leaned down to kiss him.

I couldn't wait to be married!

Thanks for the reviews, favourites and alerts! Hope you enjoyed the chapter!

I'm very sorry about the long wait! I had a laptop disaster! Basically, it broke, and I sent it away thinking it would soon be fixed in no time only for the man to tell me the motherboard had gone. I lost everything...though, luckily, I'd backed it all up. I got my new laptop yesterday as an early Christmas present from my parents and finished this chapter as soon as I could to post it for you all. I promise the next chapter won't take nearly as long!
