CHAPTER 26

AN: I have been re-reading my story and I have noticed that there have been quite a few moments where certain things didn't make sense and the fact that some people didn't know things that they should have so I would like to apologize for that, if any one has any questions for me, feel free to PM me or leave a review and I will answer you as soon as possible. Now onto the chapter.

Yugito pulled back from the kiss Naruto gave her slowly. "Not that I didn't love that, but what was it for?" Yugito asked as she looked at Naruto's smiling face.

"There wasn't really a reason for it, I just wanted to kiss you and tell you to kick Kiba's ass." Naruto then leaned in close to Yugito's ear. "But I also wanted to tell you that I have a surprise for you after this preliminary is over and once you beat Kiba." Naruto whispered huskily into Yugito's ear.

Yugito purred and moaned quietly at the same time due to the implications into Naruto's chest. She then glared slightly at Naruto. " It better be worth the suspense." Yugito whispered just as quietly and huskily into Naruto's ear.

When she leaned back Yugito wasn't surprised to see Naruto's eyes had turned red with a slit in them. Without warning Naruto's fangs extended and sank into Yugito's neck. Yugito was so surprised by Naruto's quick action that she wasn't able to suppress the loud moan that escaped her lips.

When that happened it caused everyone to look over to them and show different reactions. Most of the Sensei's were stoic and didn't show outward expressions, even Kurenai didn't have an outward expression, but she surprised herself from her thoughts.

Instead of being jealous like she expected, Kurenai was instead just thinking about how she wished that it was her who was getting that attention from Naruto and having him do those things to her and make her moan like Yugito had.

Yugito was able to quiet the second moan though before it escaped her mouth when Naruto's fangs removed from her shoulder and he licked the small amount of blood left as it healed from his touch.

With that great sendoff Yugito jumped down into the arena and got into a ready stance to fight Kiba. Hayate came over between the two and asked if they were ready. Kiba only responded by putting Akamaru down and sliding into a fighting stance .

Yugito herself just slide further into her fighting pose which looked similar to a cat stretching. Once Hayate called the start of the match Kiba charged in and punched and kicked at Yugito as she merrily dodge with the most minimal effort by bending just enough to dodge the attacks.

Her method quickly changed though when she found an opening in Kiba's attacks. Kiba threw a hard punch and Yugito just barely moved her head to the side to dodge it. Once she did she crouched low and twisted her legs around Kiba's that he had left extended and flipped him to the ground before giving a quick jab to his stomach and then jumping back.

Kiba spit out some saliva and had a few drops of blood on the corners of his chin. Quickly wiping them away he stood back up. "Everything about you makes me want to kick your ass. You smell like cat, you don't act like you're interested in this fight at all, and worst of all you have this air of alpha around you yet you seem to act like a docile submissive pet around Naruto!" Kiba practically shouted at her.

Yugito and everyone else were just as surprised by Kiba's outburst when it happened, Yugito was the first to react though as her gaze hardened. " I happen to like my cat smell, and I'm not interested in this fight because I can tell I am your better, but if you want me to beat you to a bloody pulp I will. Finally I am an alpha, I have trained all my life to get to where I am now, not to mention the fact that I am a jinchuriki, but if you question why I submit to Naruto, then your arrogant self alpha pride clearly hinders the fact that I love Naruto, and that he is clearly the most alpha person here, if he wasn't more dominate than me you think I would submit." Yugito herself practically shouted.

When she did Kiba was completely taken back by her while Naruto was surprised her fellings ran so deep. He wouldn't lie and say he didn't love her too, but she clearly also held a deep protective loyalty to him which he couldn't help but smile at.

Yugito then changed her fighting stance. "Prepare yourself dog, I'm about to beat some sense into you." Yugito said. Once she said that Kiba instantly threw down a smoke bomb. Kiba thought hiding in the smoke would work to his benefit.

Yugito however saw the smoke as an opportunity to flush him out. Quickly going through hand signs Yugito backed up and aimed at the smoke cloud. Katon: Fire Stream Yugito said as she exhaled large dark blue flames that raced toward the smoke cloud.

Kiba having heard the danger coming quickly grabbed Akamaru and jumped out of the smoke cloud only to see it completely engulfed in large blue flames. Before he could do anything though Yugito was right next to him and a blue tail of flames wacked him into the arena wall where he passed out on contact with the wall.

Yugito prepared to charge again, but Hayate had called the match and Naruto had grabbed her hand and had it in a tight grip. Yugito turned and hissed at Naruto for stopping her but when she saw the look of disappointment on his face she made a sad face and let out a meow that sounded like a whimper.

Naruto merrily pulled her into a hug to calm her down as she purred into his chest. After a few seconds he released her and went to Kiba and healed him before he left him for the medic-nins and then took Yugito back up to the viewing area where she laid in his lap when he sat down as the board started to spin again.

With all of the events that had occurred in that short span of time, no one knew what to do so they simply watched as the board continued to spin before it landed on the two names. Naruto sighed when he saw the board. "Seriously I have to go last, this isn't even funny anymore, last to fight no fun." He pouted to himself. At that everyone lightened slightly from the tense atmosphere that had been around since Kiba's beat down.

Yugito continued to relax in Naruto's lap as he ran his hand through her hair and held her firmly around the waist. As that was happening Hayate called for the two competitors. "Will Gaara of Suna and Karui of Kumo please enter the arena for the 11th preliminary round." He said.

When the two mentioned came down they both nodded to one another before getting into fighting stances. Karui pulled out her katana and Gaara turned his gourd into sand and all the sand that had been in it surrounded him.

When he did that many had been awed at the unique skill as they had never seen it before. Shikamaru being the first to know what to do looked over to Naruto. As he was about to ask him though Naruto answered first.

"Gaara's ability is gained from him being the jinchuriki of the one tailed bijuu. While similar to the magnet release Suna is known for it is also very different as Gaara is not using magnetism put pure chakra to control the sand." Naruto answered for everyone.

When Hayate called the match Karui quickly jumped back and analyzed Gaara. 'While I know all about his ability and we have even sparred a few times in the bijuu mindscape he has never fought his hardest before, I'm not quite sure how to beat him.' She thought to herself.

The two stayed still for another minute or so before Karui charged in. Naruto sighed. 'Expect Karui to lose her cool first and charge Gaara.' He thought to himself. Naruto and everyone else that knew Gaara where surprised though when Gaara's sand didn't rise to protect him and Karui was inside his guard.

That changed though when the sand surged forth and grabbed Karui's sword as Gaara kicked her away with a firm kick to the stomach. 'So he has been learning to control his sand with uncle Kaito that is good. I never thought he would get to the point where he could stop the sand from protecting him, though that is impressive.' He thought.

Gaara used his sand and threw Karui's katana to the side where she couldn't reach it. She quickly charged again while going through some hand signs, but before she could finish Gaara charged at her much faster than she thought he could and wrapped her entirely in sand.

After Karui tried to escape and realized she couldn't she told Hayate that she forfeited. With that Hayate announced Gaara the winner and asked for the last final two contestants to come down. " Will Naruto Namikaze of Konoha and Shikamaru Nara of Konoha please come down for the 12th and final preliminary round." He called.

Naruto gently removed Yugito from his lap and jumped down while Shikamaru grumbled about his bad luck and slowly walked down to the arena. Once there Shikamaru slowly stood a fair distance away from Naruto and waited for Hayate to call the match.

Once he did call the match Shikamaru jumped back and entered his thinking pose while Naruto simply watched Shikamaru. After a minute of neither moving Naruto pulled a scroll out from his storage seal and opened it. Once open Naruto started unsealing swords from it.

First he pulled out the buster sword and threw it into the wall to his right causing Shikamaru to look up at him. Next Naruto pulled out several other blades of varying length that he made stick out of different parts of the arena. Finally he put the scroll away and grabbed the last sword which was the one on his back.

Naruto took the sword from his back and impaled it into the ground in front of him and looked toward Shikamaru. He then jumped away from the sword and took a ready stance. Shikamaru quickly took in all the new information about where the weapons were located and what type of weapon they were to finally where Naruto was, and all he could conclude was that he had no idea what Naruto was thinking.

Shikamaru formed the rat hand sign and had his shadow quickly charge at Naruto who quickly jumped back and grabbed the nearest weapon and threw it at Shikamaru who had to jump away and stop his jutsu to avoid being hit.

Just as he jumped away from the weapon and looked to find Naruto he was surprised when he saw him right behind him. Shikamaru quickly understanding what happened jumped away from every weapon he could.

Once he felt he was in a safe zone he used his shadow again to chase Naruto. As the shadow approached him though Naruto simply waited till the last moment and then used chakra to jump and stick to the ceiling.

Once hanging upside down Naruto unsealed some kunai and shuriken and tossed them at Shikamaru who once again had no choice but to jump back. Naruto jumped to the floor and started going through hand signs as Shikamaru sent his shadow again to try and stop Naruto.

Naruto finished his hand signs first and placed his hands on two nearby weapons. Raiton: Electric flow he called as a stream of low level lightning surged to all the nearby weapons electrocuting Shikamaru as his shadow was touching several of the weapons.

When Shikamaru stopped moving Hayate jumped in and checked on him before calling Naruto the winner due to knockout. Once the match had been called Naruto collected all his weapons before heading to Shikamaru and healing him as he took him to his team.

Once Naruto set him down with Asuma, the Hokage coughed drawing everyone's attention. "Will the winners of the preliminary rounds please come down to draw a number for the third exam." He said.

All the winners came down to the arena where Ibiki explained that they would get a number from Anko and he would record it and then tell them the match ups for the third exam of the chunin exams that would be taking place.

With that all the winners lined up and waited for Anko to come to them with a box that had numbers in it. First in line was Haku "7." She said. Next was Neji "2." He replied stoically. Next Temari got a 6, lee got 3, Yugito received 5, Gaara was 4, Samui had 8, Chojuro was number 10, Fu got 9, Naruto was 1, and Sasuke and Kurotsuchi got 11 and 12 respectively.

Once all the numbers had been read Ibiki turned over a chart. " Match one is Naruto vs Neji, Match 2 Lee vs Gaara, Match 3 Yugito vs Temari, Match 4 Haku vs Samui, Match 5 Fu vs Chojuro, and Match six will be Sasuke vs Kurotsuchi. For the second round of fights, Match 7 will be the winner of match 1 vs winner of match 2, Match 8 is winner of match 3 vs winner of match 4, Match 9 will be winner of match 5 vs winner of match 6. In the third round due to an odd number of contestants for Match 10 it will be the winner of match 7 vs the winner of match 8 and the winner of match 9 will have a break and not have to fight. Finally for the fourth and final round Match 11 will be between the winner of match 10 and the winner of match 9." Ibiki finished.

With all that information the contestants were told they had a month to train for the exams and an extra two weeks to rest and recover before training.
