guys, just cuz I added Dani, I felt the need to mention that in this little universe, D-Stabelized happened, but Valeri only learned about Vlad being a halfa; NOT DANIELLE. So... yeah... I don't own DP

Clockwork had a meal prepared specifically for humans.

It was a feast, really. People remained in their little clicks, ignoring everyone else, including the young newcomer. And clockwork even had the generosity to give Danny and Dani their favorite apple juice; each apple crushed whole, leaving the tiny remains of arcenic that wouldn't hurt their human half, but tasted like heaven to their ghost half. Sam packed the remains of their meal in plastic-wrap and put it in her back-pack.

As soon as everyone finished they were on their way again. Danny, Sam, Tucker, and Dani in the lead. After about an hour of two they reached the Styx, the longest river in the ghost zone. "Come'n, can't we just stop of a sip?" Dani pleaded with her father, as she sat on his shoulders.

"You know I'd love to, Danielle, but if we get a drink, soon everyone else will want a drink. And you know what happens if a human drinks water from the Zone," Danny replied, trying to be stern, but failing miserably.

"Okay, Daddy," Danielle sighed. "...Dad?"

"Yeah?" Danny asked, looking up to her as best he could.

"Don't you think we should stop and give everyone a chance to catch up?" Danny stopped, causing Tucker and Sam to follow suit, and turned to find everyone was at least 20 meters back.

"Alright. Why don't you go get a sip, really quickly, 'kay?" Danny said as he lifted her from his shoulders and lowered her to the ground. She quickly obliged, smiling all the way.

She came back twenty seconds later, long before the others caught up, and Tucker ruffled her hair. "Gotch'ur daddy's speed," he praised, causing her to blush.

Soon the others caught up and sat down to rest a while, waiting for the slower ones. Dash was one of them, surprisingly. He walked up to the trio, about to make a comment when a little red beanie caught his eye. "Who's the brat?" he asked, pointing to Danielle who sat in Sam's lap, having her hair braided.

And it did NOT go unnoticed by Danny. "What did you just call her?" he asked, stepping up to Dash, guarding Danielle and Sam behind himself. His eyes flashed neon green, frightening the blond bully.

"Nothing," he instantly regretted, fearful of the sudden flash.

Danny's eyebrows relaxed lightly, "That's what I thought," he mumbled. Behind Dash, a few giggles flew at his quick retreat from Fenton.

"Except," he growled at the mockery, "that she was a big B-R-A-T." Danny immediately flared, and turned back to him.

"What did you say," he growled, Tucker grabbed him and held him back. Sam jumped up to do the same.

"Chill, dude!" Tucker yelled, struggling against his immence strength.

"He isn't worth it!" Sam added.

"And I can take care of myself, Danny!" Dani stated angrily. Finally the shoved him back, his feet dragging the dirt up behind his sneakers.

Danny growled as he looked at everyone, even giving an indefinite glare to his closest friends and daughter. "I'm gonna go cool off," he mumbled angrily, turning around to walk ahead, "If I'm not back in half-an-hour, don't come looking."

He kicked the ground, angry with the world around him. This was too much. It was beginning to mess with his emotions. He'd just about sent Dash flying; for what? calling his daughter a brat?

There were so many worse things that the blond could've said.

At least Sam and Tucker, though didn't approve, understood his anger at that term. When they first met, Sam wasn't as strong as she now was...

It was the summer before kindergarten, and Danny had had it. That little jerk had been meeting him every day at the playground to kick sand in his face and steal the toys he was using.

But now, he had taken it too far.

"Neil Armstrong and Alan Shepard are just brats!" rang through his ears. How could someone insult his two heros? The only sane people he looked up to, beside Jazz - and even that was debatable, sometimes. He ran to the un-owned woods, the dark never-touched forest in the back of the park.

He heard his mom call after him, but ignored it. She didn't even like space, why should she care who Alan Shepard and Neil Armstrong were, or what they meant to him? Finally he climbed the tallest, broadest tree he could find and sat on the flatest branch.

Then he heard it.

A light sniffling coming from the branch above him. He instantly crawled up to where the noise came from and gasped. A raven-haired girl, about his age sat wiping tears from her eyes. He quickly and quietly came over and sat beside her. They sat uncomfortably for a moment, the girl still crying.

And he wrapped his arms around her, hugging her.

"What'd they do to you?" he asked, his arms still wrapped around her.

"They said Raven was just a brat," she sniffed. He instantly gave a smile.

"You like Raven too? From Teen-Titans, not the Disney show, right?" She looked up to him.

"Yeah, isn't she great?"

"Tons better than Starfire could ever dream to be!" Danny replied finally releasing her to gesture.

"She's my hero. Even if she is fictional... How could anyone think she was a brat?"

"Who knows... Do you know Alan SHepard?"

"First American in space, yeah, why?" Danny gave a smile.

"No reason... I'm Daniel, well, Danny," he held out his hand, and she shook it graciously.

"Samantha- but if you call me anything other then Sam, I'll wring your neck."

Danny smiled widely; he liked this girl already.

"Fair enough."

He finally stopped and checked his watch. He'd only been walking for two minutes, but thinking about how he met Sam always calmed him.

... maybe it was because of how simple everything was when they met.

Danny? Dude, you there? Tucker's voice rang through his ears.

yeah, I always am, Danny grinned.

You're a mile ahead already, according to my ecto-sig tracker on the PDA. Dude, 2 min. You're gettin' super fast!

Woah. Danny smiled. I'll be right there, man. So Danny smiled and ran back to join the others. Still upset, but mainly cooled for the moment.

Sam could always calm him down.

He arrived back, a still look about him. "Dash," he called as he came up to the group. The jock jogged over, simply because he wanted to know what the twerp would say. "I'm sorry. I kinda exploded, and I shouldn't have," he paused. "I'll try to be better about controlling what I say and do. ... as long as you never insult Danielle again."

Dash chuckled. The guy was obviously stressed, and it obviously strained him to apologize. But it was something Dash wouldn't have ever had the strength to do.

So although he didn't realize this, or why he felt the need to 'make nice' with Fenton, he still responded, "It's cool, the chick's actually kinda kick-ass when you get scared off. Kinda killer when she wanna be."

Danny smiled, proud of his daughter, and Dash at the moment. "Thanks."

"Don't get used to it," he growled and walked away as if nothing had happened

*.*.*.*.*.*.*

"So how were you able to get Daddy to come back so quick, Tuck?" Danielle asked. The trio sighed. This was the one question they hated to explain.

Especially since it was so hard to get right.
