MacRose came the next day and looked at her wings, "You should keep them out for the rest of the day but should be able to sleep with them in tonight. But you have to continue to be close to Mr. Weasley for the next few days."
"I doubt that'll be a problem." Bridget smiled at her. They sat outside and MacRose looked to her.
"Tell me have you figured out why You-Know-Who wants you yet?"
"Sort of. We know he needs to kill Harry but all my prophecy said was that I could end him for good or make his reign permanent." She shrugged, "Either way we don't think he wants to kill me but we do think it's best he doesn't get his hands on me."
"So are you returning to Hogwarts this year?" The plump woman shifted to look at her.
"No." Bridget looked at her, "Harry and I, as well as Ron and Hermione, are going to look for ways to help hinder him. We'll be leaving soon."
"So you will not be with the other members of the Order?"
"No. Just the four of us."
"Not even Mr. Weasley?" The woman was shocked.
"No. If he comes with me it will put us both in more danger. No one knows who my bondmate is other than those of us in the Order. What the four of us will be doing won't always be safe so it's better if he stays here so that he is." Bridget tried to explain her thought process.
"So you want to make sure that no one can use him against you or to make your abilities stronger." MacRose clarified and Bridget nodded, "Ah okay. Well then I shall talk to Remus about how they can stay in contact with us. Stay safe out there, focus on the things you have to get done, we'll take care of things out here."
"Alright, and thank you for your help with my wings." Bridget stood with MacRose.
"Not a problem, the type of damage you took only a Phoenix would be able to come back from as well as you have." The woman smiled at her before giving her a hug, "Glad you're alright, child."
Harry and Bridget sat looking up at the night sky, "You know I tried to leave…the night you and George got injured."
"I'm not surprised." She smirked, "Why didn't you?"
"Ron stopped me. Said we wouldn't last two days without you or Hermione." Harry laughed, "Plus you're right, we're in this together….and I can't do this without you."
"Thanks." Bridget laughed too, "And you also know that you'd never have heard the end of it from us if you had gone off."
Harry took her hand and looked at the ring on it, "Does George know you'll be leaving soon?"
"Yeah I told him before summer started."
"Was he upset?"
"A little bit at first but he realized why pretty quick." Bridget looked to the ring as well then back to Harry, "Are you worried about what Ginny will do?"
"Yeah." He smiled nervously.
"She'll understand. She knows what she signed up for dating The Chosen One." She smirked, "Just like George did with me. How long do you think it'll take? To find them all?"
"We have to figure out what they are first." Harry massaged the back of his neck.
"And how to destroy them." Bridget sighed, "Leave it to Dumbledore to give us homework after term."
Harry let out a small laugh at her and she laughed too. They looked back up at the stars, smiles on their faces, nervous but secure at not knowing what the future held, but that it would sort itself out one way or another.
They were preparing for the wedding, others were outside putting up the tents while Bridget, Molly, Gabrielle, and Apolline were helping Fleur get ready up-stairs. Hermione knocked on the door, "I'm sorry but the Minister of Magic is here, he wants to speak with Bridget."
"Goodness is it about her registering?!" Molly turned around about to head for the door, "As if we don't have a wedding and a war going on!"
"No, no, he wants to talk to me, Ron, and Harry too." Hermione reassured the woman.
Bridget looked at the other women in the room, "I guess I'll be back then."
She and Hermione left the room and went downstairs where the Minister sat them down. He explained he was there to read the Last Will and Testament of Dumbledore, "First, to Ronald Bilius Weasley, I leave my Deluminator, a device of my own making, in the hope that - when things seem most dark - it will show him the light."
He handed Ron the small silver stick and the boy took it, "Dumbledore left this? For me? Brilliant…what is it?" The Minister shook his head not knowing the answer and Ron flipped the switch, the lights in the room going into the object and when he flicked the switch again the lights went back out, "Wicked."
"To Miss Hermione Jean Granger," The minister continued, pulling out a book, "I leave my copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard, in the hope that she will find it entertaining and instructive."
Ron spoke about how Mrs. Weasley used to read him those and the rest just looked at him. The Minister turned to Bridget, "To Miss Bridget Faltey, I leave Fawks so that two rare creatures may always have each other to learn from and support each other." The Minister sighed, "Unfortunately the bird could not be found to be brought into your possession."
"It's fine, he is not a creature to be kept in a cage, that's why Dumbledore left him to me. He will come if I need him." Bridget shifted awkwardly.
"Yes, the two of you must have some…kind of bond." The Minister forced a smile at her then turned to Harry, "To Harry James Potter, I leave the Snitch he caught in his first Quidditch match at Hogwarts, as a reminder of the rewards of perseverance and skill."
The Minister handed Harry the Snitch and Harry took it before looking back up at him, "This it then?"
"Not quite. Dumbledore left you a second bequest: The Sword of Godric Gryffindor. Unfortunately, the Sword of Gryffindor was not Dumbledore's to give away. As an important historical artifact, it belongs-"
"To Harry!" Hermione spoke up, "It belongs to Harry! It chose him! It came to him in the Chamber of Secrets when he most needed it!"
The Minster went on to explain that the sword does that but it does not make it that witches or wizards and that its whereabouts were currently unknown. He stands to leave and turns to both Harry and Bridget, "I won't pretend to be your friend, Mr. Potter. But I assure you I'm not your enemy. Same with you Miss Faltey, it is why I am glad that you have not yet registered your status with the Ministry."
They all watched as the man left the house. Ron and Hermione turned to look at the other two. Ron spoke up, "What is it with them wanting Primals to register with them and constantly bothering you about it?"
"They want to control their population." Hermione said, her voice quiet.
"Why?" Harry asked.
"Because, you all see how I can do things without a wand, how I can keep up with strong wizards and witches." Bridget nodded slightly then had a smile, "Imagine if there were as many Primals as there were normal witches and wizards. They fear we will take over if our numbers are greater, that we will make witches and wizards into what most of them view muggles to be."
The reception was in full swing and she was standing with Hermione, taking a sip of her drink when she heard her name being called and looked over a ways to see George. He mimed asking her to dance and she laughed, Hermione shoving her off. Once she made it to him he took her in his arms as they began dancing with the other couples on the floor, "The one time you actually wear a dress and I'm not going to be able to do anything about it."
She laughed at him, "Yes well I don't know who looks more ridiculous, me in this dress or you in that bandage, why is it crooked across your forehead?"
"I think it fits the shape of my head nicely." He smiled.
"As long as it gets better it can look as funny as you want it to." She put a hand on his cheek.
"Oh so guess who I found snogging my sister this morning!" He bent over so no one else heard him.
"Harry." She said in a way that told him this wasn't news to her.
"You knew?" He asked and she nodded, "You knew Harry Potter was snogging my little sister and didn't tell me?"
"I didn't think it was that big of a deal, Ron's okay with it." She laughed at him, "Act how you would want my big brother to act if he found us snogging."
"Dammit, alright." He sighed and felt a tap on his back. She smiled seeing Remus.
"Mind if I cut in?" Remus asked.
"Just don't keep her for too long." George put her hand into the older mans.
"Yes, I've heard your days together are numbered." Remus looked down at her as they began to dance, "We're you and Harry not going to tell me?"
"We didn't want anyone to talk us out of it." She said.
"And Ron and Hermione?"
"We need them, we can't do this without them."
He sighed, "I know and I think it's smart and brave what you all are doing, I was actually going to suggest that you not go back to Hogwarts this year and continue to train with the other Primals but I think this is just as well. Stay safe."
"I will." She said as the song ended and hugged him, "You stay safe too Remus."
"I'll do my best." He smiled before giving her a kiss on the top of her head. He walked her back to George, "She's all yours."
"I know, I'm a luckiest sod alive." He smiled and she laughed at him before a glowing ball came whizzing into the tent. He put his arm around her putting himself between her and it, just in case.
Kingsley's voice came out of the patronus informing them all, "The Ministry has fallen. The Minister of Magic is dead. They are coming..."
The last phrase repeated itself a few times and as it faded people began to panic. Her eyes went to Harrys and she knew it was time. She felt George take her arm and looking up at him, "George I have to-"
"I know." He pressed his lips to hers, trying to embed this memory in his brain forever, "Stay safe. I love you."
"I love you too, with everything that I am." She whispered before pulling away from him, his body cold as Death Eaters came in attacking them.
Bridget made it to Harry as he was being thrown back by Remus and they took each other's hands heading for Ron and Hermione. As the four joined together, Bridget looked to see George blocking a spell before feeling her body pulled away and then yanked backwards so they weren't hit by a bus.
Kreacher had returned with Fletcher and he had told them about how Umbridge had taken the locket from him. The three of them sat coming up with the plan and Hermione looked at them, "Most of the ingredients for Polyjoice will be easy to find, but Boomslang skin might be hard as well as a few others."
"Let me see the list." Bridget asked and her friend showed it to her, "I know where we can get those."
"Where?" Harry asked.
"Fred and Georges shop." She answered, "I'm one of the few people who can apparate directly into the building so I won't be seen."
"Why do they have Boomslang skin?" Ron grimaced.
"For their potions." Bridget asked, "Which potions however you might not want to know."
"Alright once we have everything we can make the potion and get into the ministry and get the locket." Harry spoke confidently.
"One problem on that." Bridget stuck her finger up, "I can't go into the ministry."
"Why not?" Ron asked.
"I'm a Primal, an unregistered Primal." She explained, "Even if with the polyjuice potion the second I step foot in the ministry they'll know I'm there now that the trace is off me. Remus explained it to me after we went to the department of mysteries because he had grown confused how the alarms didn't immediately go off."
"But it was because you were already being traced that they knew where you were therefore the alarms didn't go off?" Hermione clarified.
"Correct, now that they have no clue where I'm at or what I'm doing if I were to just show up the alarms would go off until I was to be escorted around by Ministry personnel. They want to make it to where it's uncomfortable for us to go there because it will be a big deal if we do, so it keeps us from going, which is why we have our own council."
"Is this based off of the whole Primals trying to take over thing?" Ron asked.
"Yeah, I don't know why they're afraid, we could still do it if we wanted but most of us don't want to be above everyone else. Just equal." She smiled.
"Well we'll come up with a backup plan for you since you can't get in." Harry said patting her on the shoulder with a smile and she gave him a small one back.
"Why don't we apparate to two places other than here so that if something goes wrong while were there we have somewhere to meet up to regroup as well as back up for if we get compromised here, I mean there are Death Eaters outside constantly." Hermione suggested.
"Sounds good." Harry nodded.
The others gathered what she needed and Hermione gave her the list. She apparated to the store room and looked around for the things they needed. After grabbing them she was about to leave before she heard movement upstairs. Then she heard it, his voice. It had only been a few days but she missed him, having gone from seeing him all summer to not seeing him at all hurt. Bridget shook this from her mind, it was just as if she had left for Hogwarts. She wouldn't be able to see him then either, so she should just leave. But her feet were planted in their spot. She got an idea. Quietly she made her way over to a desk and grabbed a quill and some parchment.
George,
Glad to see you're back in the store. Sorry, I had to take somethings from your storage but we needed it for what we were doing and knew this would be the safest way to get it. I may have taken a few products as well because, well, you never know. Hope your ear, or well where your ear was, is feeling better. We're safe where we're at so no need to worry. I'm sure that this will be all over soon and then we'll be back together. We listen to the radio your father gave Ron so it keeps us updated with what's going on out there, stay safe, please. I don't think I could handle hearing about you on there. Send Remus, Fred, and your parents my love.
Love,
Bridget.
George had found this letter on his desk just outside the store room. It was her hand writing, she had been there, she had been in the same building. But how long ago was it? Neither he nor Fred had come to this area for a while and they had been apart for over a month now, how long had he over looked it? He hoped everything she said in it was still true, that they were still safe, there had been a sighting of Harry at the Ministry but not her, had she already been captured? He knew one thing for sure, that if she listened to that old radio, he would be on it, so she would know for sure that he was safe.
