George sat working with Fred on orders for Hogwarts out of his Aunt Muriels home, trying to avoid boredom while being there. Her bracelet had been stagnant for a day or so, just a dim white, as if she was sleeping. But if she were sleeping for that long it would have meant something was wrong. The twins heard the pop of someone apparating into the home and went to see who it was.
Molly came out from the kitchen and let out a cheer, "CHARLIE!"
"Hey mum." He laughed giving the woman a hug.
"What are you doing here?" His father asked coming into the room, no one yet noticing the man with him.
"Probably afraid he was missing all of the action." Fred said.
"Yeah, very exciting everything has been." George sarcastically followed up.
"Well I did want to be here to help with things and I found someone that needed directions home." Charlie pointed to the man standing with him. He was about the same age with sandy brown hair, pale skin, and brown eyes…with red flecks in them.
Molly let out a gasp as she realized, "Johnathon?"
The man smiled a bit shy but the woman ran up to him engulfing him into her arms. George couldn't move, was it really Bridgets brother?
"How are you here? Why are you here?" Molly asked pulling John to sit down on the couch.
"I heard what was happening here and didn't know how to find Bridget or anyone for that matter but ran into Charlie a few years ago in Romania and found him still there when I went back. Once he'd finished up his matters we came here." John answered.
"Why did you leave?" George asked him.
John looked up and had a sad smile, "Because if I stayed, her Priming would have happened sooner. If I had stayed and that happened, and became her bondmate, they would have found us when she was barely old enough to start school. If we had stayed together the things they would have done to me to get to her would have broken her, or they would have tortured her to get to me, and I couldn't have that. Plus I was mom's bondmate so she would have had to have died for me to become Bridgets. Which they would have made happen to make her more powerful."
"So you don't know then?" George tried to hold back his anger, "That they did find her? That they killed your mother trying to get to her? That they tortured her to find out where you were at? That they killed her first bondmate? That they've done everything short of kill her to get to what abilities she has?"
Johns face fell slightly, not having known everything. He had known that their mother died, he had felt it when it happened. But he had also felt relief and that had told him Bridget had gotten away. John tried to regain his smile, "So then you're her bondmate I take it? Is she here?"
"No." George answered him.
"She's been on a mission with Harry Potter, my other son, Ron, and their friend Hermione to figure out a way to destroy You-Know-Who." Molly explained, "We…we aren't quite sure where they're at."
"I see." John got sad before looking up to George, "Is she alright?"
"Far as I can tell." George told him, "She's gotten really good at being able to take energy from me even from a distance without me knowing."
"Sounds like Bridg, never wanting to be a bother." He couldn't help but laugh. John looked to Molly, "Aunt Minerva, does she still work at the school? Maybe she knows where Bridget is? I really need to see her. There are things…things we need to talk about."
"Aunt Minerva?" Fred asked.
"Bloody Hell that explains a lot." George thought about Bridget and McGonagalls relationship and how them being related would make a lot more sense.
"Yeah, she's our mom's half-sister." John explained, "From our grandma's first marriage."
"We'll see what we can do to find Bridget but until then you stay with us, it'll be easier that way since she'll probably come to find George if she ever gets into trouble." Arthur smiled at him, "Come now John, tell us what you've been up too since last we saw you."
Bridget opened her eyes to see Hermione looking down at her, "Hey how are you feeling?"
"Sore." Bridget stretched, "But better, you could be a nurse."
"Thanks." Hermione laughed before they heard Harry calling her name outside. Bridget nodded for Hermione to go and when she heard Hermione yelling she got up and left the tent to see Ron standing there and Hermione asking about the destroyed horcrux.
"More like what's with him having the sword?" Bridget asked announcing her presence.
Harry smiled seeing her up and about but still registered her question, "It's a long story."
"Don't think this changes anything." Hermione said heading back towards Bridget and the tent but stopped as Ron started explaining what happened and how he found his way back to them. He talked about Hermiones voice calling to him and a ball of light going through his chest leading him back to them. She listened to the story but still turned around and headed back towards Bridget, "Come on I want to look at your shoulder."
Once back inside the tent Bridget sat down taking off her sweater for Hermione and asked, "So how long before you give in and forgive him."
"What would you do if George did what he did then came back with that?" Hermione asked.
"Oh he'd never hear the end of it, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't wrap my arms around him after hitting him a few times." Bridget smiled, "But if he had done it back before we were together, it definitely would have taken a while."
"Well then just let me know if I go on to long." She muttered.
Bridget laughed, "Oh that's not for me to tell, it's not my relationship, nor am I you. But you remember what it was like when George and I fought after I told everyone I was a Primal, you were the one that talked me through it until him and I talked."
"Yeah but that was more complicated than this." Hermione put dittany on Bridgets skin, "This is because he's an arse."
"A jealous ass though." Bridget peered back at her with a smile and Hermione couldn't help but give a small smile back.
Hermione and Bridget had decided they needed answers on the Triangle Eye and wanted to go and see Xenophilius Lovegood to find out what it was. Harry and Ron, the latter quite vocally and hilariously, had agreed and once Bridget and Harry were good enough to move they traveled to Ottery St. Catchpole. Bridget looked, knowing the Burrow wasn't far but Ron nudged her, "He's not there. They've all gone into hiding."
"Did you see him? While you were gone?" Bridget asked.
"No, I was too ashamed." He replied.
"You came back." She clasped her hand on his shoulder, "That's what matters."
"Harry told me what ya said, about how you both are my family and everyone else's family too. You're right." He rubbed the back of his neck, "I hated that I said that."
"We both knew it was the locket making you say it." She smirked at him, "Little brother."
He smiled at her and they approached the house. When Mr. Lovegood answered the door he looked more thrown together and out of sorts than usual. Once the man saw Harry he let them in, avoided where Luna was at, and they asked about the symbol on his necklace. He called them the Deathly Hallows. None of them knew what it meant and he said it related to the Tale of the Three Brothers, to which Hermione started to read since Bridget and Harry hadn't heard of it before. After Mr. Lovegood explained the symbol in relation to the Elder Wand, Resurrection Stone, and the Cloak of Invisibility. Hermione and Bridget asked about the Perevell family and he explained they were said to be the original owners of the Hallows and therefore the inspiration for the story, but then acted strangely saying he needed to make them more tea. They tried to say their goodbye but the man yelled saying they couldn't, blocking their exit. He told them that they had taken her and when Harry asked who took her the man swallowed hard, "Voldemort."
Explosions went off in the house as Death Eaters flew around it. They all hit the deck. Crawling towards each other as explosions went off, they were finally able to grab each other's hands. Landing in a new forest they had gotten away unscathed. Ron walked off starting the enchantments. None of them made it three steps before Snatchers stood up, surrounding them. One smiled at Hermione, "Hello Beautiful."
They all looked at each other then ran. Curses and spells flew all around them. They began sending them back. Ron was taken down by an Incarcerous spell. Bridget ran, not sure what to do, she could fly out of there but she would have to go back for Ron, have to carry the other three, she had never done that before, she didn't even know if she could do that. Or she'd have to leave the others, which she wouldn't do. She caught up to Harry and Hermione right as the girl shot him in the face with a spell. Listening to Harry say Voldemort just wanted the Elder Wand and that he knew where to find it made the situation they were in even worse as a Snatcher pulled her and Hermione to their feet. She stood there as the Snatchers questioned them on their names and when he looked at her he studied her face, "And you?"
"Amanda Caufield." It was the name of a girl she knew in America growing up. He took her chin in his hand, looking into her eyes before going back over to Harry. He moved the hair over Harrys forehead and his voice was low.
"Change of plan, we're not taking this lot to the ministry."
They disapparated and her stomach churned, her heart beat erratic as she stared at the entrance to Malfoy Manor. Bellatrix brought them inside and once Draco arrived he looked at her with scared eyes and Bellatrix asked if it was really Harry. Lucius recognized her and she was pulled to the side, to be kept. Draco said he wasn't sure, that he couldn't tell and Bridget felt some relief at this. Bellatrix wanted Hermiones wand and they thought they were caught before she spotted the sword in a snatchers hand and became erratic. She yelled, screamed, attacked the snatchers before saying for her and Hermione to be kept upstairs while the boys were taken down to the dungeon.
Bellatrix grabbed Hermione and threw her to the ground and Bridget screamed, "DON'T YOU TOUCH HER!"
"Crucio!" Bellatrix aimed her wand at Bridget and she fell to the ground, Draco cringing at the sight. Once she stopped she did it again before yelling, "Where did you get the sword you filthy Half- Breed!?" Bridget didn't answer and so Bellatrix cursed her again. Bridget seized on the ground and Hermione tried to get to her but was grabbed by Lucius. She didn't yell, she refused to show pain. Bellatrix asked while torturing her, "IS THAT POTTER?"
"Decoy!" She tried to hold back a cry.
"IS POTTER YOUR BONDMATE?" Bellatrix asked with a wicked smile thinking she had figured it out.
"No." Bridget seethed as the woman stopped the curse. Her eyes connected with Dracos who wore fear and an apology. Bridget knew better than to call out for him to help her. He wouldn't.
"Then who is?" Bellatrix cursed her again.
She writhed on the floor in pain. When the woman stopped the curse Bridgets eyes were full of hate, full of spite, and spit out a name to the woman, "Cedric Diggory. But you lot killed him."
Bellatrix and Lucius' eyes grew wide, they had them both, they would have been able to use her then but they killed the boy. Bellatrix picked her up by her throat, "Then who is it now? Your brother? Can't be your uncle. We killed him when we realized what he was a half-breed like you."
"Maybe it was. Nah, maybe it's my mum. Or my da? Oh wait you all killed them too." Bridget managed to smile she would die before she gave them what they wanted. Bellatrix threw her down wrapping her up with Incarcerous.
"Hand me the other girl." Bellatrix wore a venomous smile, "One of them will talk because of her screams."
Bridget yelled as Hermione cried out in pain at the Cruciatus curse. Hermione didn't give in as tears streaked down both girls cheeks. Her screams became more pained, more crushing and Bridget bit down on her tongue, knowing Hermione would hate her if she gave in. Her hands weren't near her constraints and she couldn't burn them off. Draco just watched, wanting to help the girls, his stomach sick at what was happening in front of him. Bellatrix carved something into Hermiones arm and finally called for the Griphook as Hermione told her it was a fake sword. Once the woman was trained onto the goblin Bridget tried to talk to Hermione in a whisper, "'Mione? Are you alright?"
The girl just cried silently but nodded and Bridget felt horrible. When Ron and Harry came running up the stairs Ron disarmed Bellatrix, the Incarcerous spell being broken on Bridget and she was able to get up but not before Bellatrix had Hermione with a knife to her friend's throat. Bridget didn't move as the others were forced to drop their wands, Draco collecting them but not hers, which was still in her pocket. Lucius was about to call for Voldemort when they all heard a squeaking noise and looking up they saw Dobby unscrewing the chandelier. When the huge piece of metal began to fall to the ground Hermione was thrown forward and Bridget leaped to her, grabbing her weak friend, both of them joining Harry and Ron.
They stood as Dobby prepared to disapparate them and Harry had gotten the wands back from Draco. Bridget looked to the boy leaning on a chair and motioned for him to come with them but he shook his head, his face softening though realizing she didn't hate him and she had solidified that he really didn't want to hurt them either. She had her hand in Hermione's, who was being supported by Ron, and she felt the pull as they apparated out of the dreadful place she had been tortured in too many times and landed on a beautiful beach.
Once on the sand Harry rushed to her, Hermione, and Ron telling them they were safe but it was short lived as they heard Dobbys voice. They looked at the little elf and the knife in his stomach. Harry ran to the little creature and Bridget couldn't hold back tears, not after they had just been flowing so much. He asked if Hermione had something in her bag but nothing would work on a wound that big. Bridget couldn't watch, not that. She looked away, feeling Hermiones hand holding tight to the back of her sweater.
George looked at his bracelet. It was a muddy blue. It was the color of deep sorrow that had followed the color of a great pain. His heart couldn't help but break for whatever his fiancée had just been through.
