Author's Notes: I'm really, really sorry about not writing a chapter for a while I have been super, super busy! School has just been ridiculously crazy, so I am going to try to write an extremely long chapter to make up for lost time. So… Let the awesomeness begin!
Chapter 11
Sting's POV (One day earlier)
The twisting in my gut wouldn't cease, I kept worrying about her. I mean who am I kidding I'm always worried about her, but this time my sensor for her imminent danger was going through the roof. I thought the best course of action would be to go visit her guild, I mean she hated it there so it wasn't the best place to start my search but I figured I could ask for her most recent mission.
Turns out that not riding a train consistently definitely lowers your immunity for trains, especially for a dragon slayer. After a few hours of misery I had finally reached the city of Magnolia, and within minutes I was standing in front of Fairy Tail. Right dab smack in the middle of enemy territory. I pushed the two doors open with ease, opening the flood gates of hell in terms of war. Though this time I was not here for a battle royal.
I sauntered to the bar resting my elbow on the counter and leaning towards the very angry barmaid I asked, "Where is Lucy Heartfilia?" After I spoke expressions of confusion filled the room, I scoffed. "Don't worry Fairies I have no interest in weaklings who can't even remember one of their own." Light setting fire to a flame, the guild erupted in cries of anger.
"You have no Idea what you're talking about!"
"Take that back!"
"Be quite!"
"Go back!"
All these pointless comments were being thrown around carelessly finally got to me so I did what anyone would do, I yelled as loud as I could. "SHUT UP!" My voice booming over all others, silencing some and terrifying others. "You have no idea what you're talking about, who do you think was there for Lucy when all of you weren't? HUH?! Who do you think was there when she was contemplating suicide? Who do you think helped her find the solution of the tattoos? Who do you think almost died trying to help save her?" I was out of breath but I still managed to keep a calm and dignified posture. After taking in a few more steady breaths I turned back towards the barmaid and asked her again deathly calm. "Now will you tell me where Lucy is or will I have to get it out of you the hard way?"
She looked at me now with a sliver of regret and a face full of gratitude and replied, "She went on a mission not too long ago to a nearby town to rid it of a dark guild, and you should be able to catch up to her pretty quickly if you leave now."
I looked at her and released a breath I hadn't known I was holding and said, "Thank you." I ran out of the guild without looking back, the only thing that was on my mind was Lucy's safety. I sprinted for a long while until I was able to sniff out her scent, the only problem was what was mingled with her scent. It was blood, and it wasn't her own.
After my discovery I started to run faster, moving at a speed that I thought was impossible for me. I made it to her in record time only to find her surrounded by bodies in the middle of an orchard. Bodies of all sizes, some were still moving but only barely. The weirdest part was that Lucy was in the center, but she definitely wasn't relishing in her kills but passed out with her own blood soaking her shirt. None of the innocent blood that was spilled was by her own hand. Instead I discovered the culprit standing off to the side of the row of trees was a woman. Her hair was a dark brown peppered with little hints of gray, announcing her growing age. Her eyes were a piercingly light blue, almost white, stark in contrast to her ruby red lips. She was wearing a black leather vest with the zipper slightly lowered revealing her abundant breasts, accompanied with a pair of black skin tight leather pants. Her black combat boots completed the ensemble nicely. On her arm though displayed a mark similar to Lucy's, without a counterbalance though.
Before I could even get a word out though she smiled devilishly at me and my world went red.
I was in sleep like state, but I was restless. I couldn't move nor could I talk, it was infuriating! At one point though I was able to see again, it was at that moment though I knew that she wanted me to see this. It was Lucy on the ground with a knife protruding from her gut, I could see the woman who put me in this state talking and then pointing towards me. Lucy saw me and all of the relief that had covered her dace disappeared, she was beginning to panic.
I didn't really understand what was making her panic so much but I could only assume that it wasn't good. As the woman spoke more, poison spilling from her lips as each syllable was uttered Lucy began to slowly retract the knife from her gut. Much to my pleasure and worry.
Whatever is being bargained I can only imagine what it bodes for the future.
