Chapter 13: Preparations

As planned went I down to the Slytherin common room at 1 and Lily let me in. She barely concealed her happiness and as we were in her empty dorm she jumped up and down and squealed. I looked at her.

"He asked me to the dance! Oh George! Scorpios Hyprion Malfoy asked me to be his date to the Halloween Ball and not only can I go to the ball! No, I can go with Scorp! My crush since I was 10!" I hugged her and was happy for her. Happily I found a charm yesterday that would write my messages in the air. I waved my wand and I thought of what I want to stand in green letters over my head. Lily gasped a little as she saw my thoughts.

"I am happy for you! So we have to find a costume for you too!" She nodded and went to her closet.

"I thought you could be a flower girl or a fairy." But I shook my head.

"I don't want to be such a girl. Can't I go as a muggle farmer?" Lily laughed and shook her head.

"I always wanted to dress you up! Rose and Roxie are going to join us after they come back from Hogsmead. And they want to do that too. So we have to find mine first!" I nodded and we started planning her outfit. After four hours of cutting, sewing and swearing (Lily had the same colourful mouth as I have) we were finished with her costume. She was a fire girl. Her dress was the same colour as her hair and went down to her ankles. There were to slits to her knees at both sides and two tiny straps to hold it up. It was a plain dress. She was only thirteen years old and her brother would kill her if she would wear something too revealing. But the special thing about it was that I had charmed it. It would have real flames on it. It really looked as if she was on fire. As we finished it a little girl came in and said there were girls out in the corridor who were asking for Lily. Lily straightened herself and looked coolly at the little girl. I never really saw Lily as the Slytherin but now I knew why she was so respected in her house. I think I even heard people say she was the Slytherin Princess.

"Let them in and bring them here." The little girl nodded hastily and scampered away but Lily caught her by the arm.

"And if you say anyone anything about my dress…" She didn't end her sentence but the little girl nodded again and went out of the dorm. Lily turned to me again and was her old self.

"Wow you really are a snake!" I thought and she just laughed at the letters in the air.

"There was a reason I was sorted here!" She grinned. Rose and Roxie loved the dress and wanted me to charm theirs too. Rose was a beautiful girl. She had wavy auburn hair that reached just past her shoulder and big brown eyes. She was tall and slender. She had found a dress in an ocean blue. It poured down at her and clung to her curves. It went down to just under her knees and was topless. Like Lily's dress I charmed it and now it looked like water was flowing down at her.

Roxanne was Fred's twin and looked a lot like him. She had a golden skin and the Weasley hair. It was short cut but still longer than mine. It was just at the end of her neck. Her blue eyes were piercing and she was like Rose tall. I thing that the Weasleys are just tall people. Her dress was a crispy white and it was to her mid calves. It was just a normal cut dress and was only a little tight under her chest. It had long arms that reached past her elbows and had a V cut in the front. This one I charmed that it looked like air was moving around her.

The girls all thought that I should go as earth so that we would be the four elements. But I didn't want to wear a dress. But in the end the girls won. The dress was forest green that was perfect with my eyes and hair. It was long to the floor and had a black ivy that sprouted from the hem to my left chest. It was topless like the dress from Rose. It was plain like all of our dresses and was bunched a little at my waist. My dress was charmed that wherever I went a trail of grass with flowers would follow me.

Roxanne jumped up and down and was very excited.

"Now we only need dates!" Lily looked sheepishly at her. Roxie's eyes grew big.

"Don't say you have a date!" Lily just nodded and Rose and Roxie started squealing.

"Oh my god! Lily Luna Potter! Who are you going with?" Rose asked but Roxanne interrupted her from answering.

"It doesn't matter with whom she is going! She has a date and we don't! I am a fifth year! Damn!" And with that Roxanne ran in the bathroom changed her dress to her school outfit under 4 minutes and ran out of the dorm. She screamed a hastily goodbye over her shoulder and we just looked at each other. Roxanne always was the crazy one in our circle. Rose and I promised Lily that we would go with her after the feast and prepare ourselves with her and went together back to the common room.

Rose and I hadn't found a date and we would go together whereas Rox got a date the same night she ran out of the dorm. She would go with Logan. She had asked me if that would be ok and I was more than happy to say yes. I didn't like Logan that way and was happy for my friend. Fred and Louis had found two girls from Ravenclaw that weren't too bad. Larissa and Anna. I didn't see the boys a lot in the last four days but they knew it wasn't because I didn't want to talk with them. More because of the preparations for the ball. We had brought the dresses to Lily and went together to the feast. We sat down at the Slytherin table and started eating the fantastic food. The whole hall buzzed and talked about the ball. The younger students who weren't invited sulked and the girls all were exited to show the rest of the Castle their costumes. As dinner ended, all of the girls jumped up and ran to their respective dorms and started making themselves ready. Roxanne dragged us down to Lily's dorm and Lily shooed her dorm mates out of the room and let us in. I was the last one to be ready because I needed help with my hair and make-up. The others applied it daily whereas for me it was the first time and it would be a catastrophe if I would do it myself.

Roxanne had now beige eye shadow and black mascara. Her lips were in a deep red. Her hair looked windswept and she wore beige high heels. Rose had her hair up in a loosely bun and a few tendrils encircled her face. She had light blue eye shadow and her eyelashes were a dark brown. She wore light pink lipstick and blue high heels. Lily had light red eye shadow with black mascara. She wore normal orange-red flat shoes. Her hair was open and wavy.

"What do we do with her?" Lily asked and all of them looked at me.

"Nothing too much?" I asked and as practiced they all nodded at once. And then Roxie pushed me in a chair and turned me so that I couldn't see me in the mirror. Rose started prodding my head while Rox searched for the best make-up. Lily looked in her closet for the perfect shoes. After 15 minutes the girls were ready. They twisted me to the mirror and I looked at someone I never saw before. Rose had put a flower crown on my head with white flowers and the green of the stem was the same as my dress. My hair was straightened and flew around my head. Roxanne had succeed in making my eyes bigger and whenever I would blink you could see the dark green eye shadow. Normally my eyelashes were light brown but now where black. I still stared at reflection when I heard the girls arguing. I turned around and looked at them.

"I can't find good shoes!" Lily complained and the other two started searching through the massive shoe collection. And then Lily screamed out of happiness. We all turned to her and she was glowing.

"I know it!" She exclaimed. As she said nothing Rose pushed her and Lily giggled.

"Not so impatient!" We rolled our eyes at her. Roxanne started prodding her sides and Lily rose her hand in defence.

"George will go barefoot!" We looked at her as if she was crazy and then Roxanne and Rose jumped up and down. How they didn't broke their ankles in their shoes, I have no idea.

"That is a great idea!" Both exclaimed and I just shrugged with my shoulder. I can't win against the three of them together. Rose looked at the clock and cursed.

"We have to go!" We all looked a last time at the mirror and nodded in satisfaction. I put my wand in a special slit at my thigh and followed the girls out of the dorm.
