Important-ish: Soccer season is not the reason for the late update... My computer decided to commit suicide on me... I finally revived it. Sorry.

Chapter 33: Seeing Red

Nicolette sighed once more as she shut her music book and looked around her room- her new room that is. The Greys had moved into their new house the day Nicolette was released from the hospital. The house was done, with a full three story gym (lap pool on the bottom floor, basketball court on the middle floor and weight room on the top), an outdoor pool equipped with waterfall, landscaping, slide, patio with a gazebo covered in clinging vines, a hot tub, and a kiddie pool in front... where everyone could see.

Her room was a soft blue hue, with the same soft white tile her old bathroom had (and her new one has), the California King sized bed floated above the floor in one of those 'floating beds' that was stabilized with strong chains. Her father had gone over every aspect of the safety of the bed with her uncle when he saw it. The blue ruffled comforter looked like the same her old bed had, with the same kind of fluffy pillows and soft mattress.

The real good part of her new home, was her own game room... Or house in this case... Her uncle had singlehandly won the title of 'best uncle in the world' when he showed her the tree house he built for her.

It was hidden within a grove of very large and very lifelike Evergreen trees (because they didn't shed their leaves in the fall, and therefore the house would be hidden from the eye all year round, according to her uncle).

The grove of five adult Balsam Fir Trees, hid nearly fifty-five feet tall and two hundred-fifty feet's worth of perimeter of what the Grey's called a castle tree house. Between the five trees was a tree house that was home to three stories worth of fun for Nicolette, Max and whomever was going to be her friend. Beneath the tree house was a crystal like pond in which another floating bed was hanging over, the top story had a balcony in which Nicolette and Max had already star watched (under the close eye of Christian Grey himself). The first floor had the fully functional kitchen and bathroom, while the second floor was home to a hangout room- that closely resembled Nicolette's hidden room in Escala, only this time with Foosball, air hockey, and any other object a teenager of any gender could want; and panic room (both with no windows), and the top floor held a bathroom, and three separate bedrooms. Every floor however held security cameras in each room. Even the bedrooms- not that the Security team took much time in staring at the bedroom cameras.

Her tree house was a paradise, hidden within a paradise.

Nicolette groaned as her phone buzzed.

tree house?

-Max

Nicolette checked the time, 11:21 pm on Christmas Eve's Eve. Debating the move for a moment Nicolette decided to go, after all her father had told her that it would OK to go to the tree house at any moment her heart desired, as long as security knew.

And she'd alert security...

Nicolette quickly changed her outfit, wearing one of her more- sexy- undergarment choices. And pulling on a tee shirt and leggings. Her new closet looked much more open than her last one, now there was a wall for shirts, pants, dresses/skirts, make-up counter, jewelry, and- of course- shoes, there was even a wall with drawers of every kind for swimsuits, undergarments, hoodies, jackets and those sorts of things. Sometimes Nicolette thought that living with the Greys was a lot more excessive than in her small town, not that she'd trade it for anything in the world. The floor was covered in a soft white carpet, with the walls being painted a deep blue hue wherever she could see wall- or drawers, a deep blue circular ottoman sat in the middle of the room with white pillows on top.

Nicolette ran a brush through her hair before grabbing her cell and rushing to the security's office down the hall, where she knew Ryan would be working the night shift. Poking her head into the room she noticed Ryan already staring at the door with an amused grin on his face.

"What? Knew I was coming?" Nicolette asked, Ryan smirked and jerked his thumb toward the screen that showed the picture of her bedroom door.

"I can't sleep, I'm going to the tree house and watching some movies with Max," Nicolette shook her phone in her hand, "He's probably in there already, and the boys are at a friend's house evidently. Is it cool if I just go out there or do you have to go through it first?" Nicolette asked.

"I just let Max in, it's safe. Be careful walking out." Ryan ordered, Nicolette smiled.

"Thank you." Before she shut the door and hurried out past the patio and into the landscaping that some eccentric woman had done, putting a huge grove of Evergreen Trees past the pool probably wasn't meant for the use of hidden tree houses in her eyes. Nicolette grinned as she pulled open the hidden slide that took a code and hand print to open the even more hidden opening in the ground on the other side of the tree (the side facing the pond). After going through all of the steps, Nicolette circled the tree house and walked down the steps that led to the more steps of the hollowed out tree, and walked up them to the first floor of the tree house.

Where Max was waiting for her in the kitchen.

"Morning?" He asked, a wicked grin on his face.

"Not for another thirty minutes." Nicolette shot back, Max chuckled before picking up the sodas and popcorn.

"Will you at least watch a movie with me?" Nicolette giggled before crossing over to the stairs that led to the second floor.

Two hours and fifteen minutes later the movie finished, not that either was actually watching the movie. Nicolette was curled over Max's lap with her lips plastered on his. She could feel his arousal poking her in her leg, and could feel her own arousal growing, for a moment she forgot about the kiss and thought what might happen if they went further. It wasn't but two months past the day she was rescued. But Nicolette knew in every which way that Max was not the man that took her, he was gentle and loving... not the forceful and uncaring man that had taken her.

She could go all the way with him.

And when she refocused on the kiss, she knew exactly how that morning was going to end.

Max broke the kiss and for the second time in his life he looked in his love's eyes and asked, "Are you sure? We can't go back."

And he basically got the same answer.

"Yes."

The two somehow found their way up the stairs and into Nicolette's tree house bedroom- which consisted of blue tiled flooring, wooden sound-proof walls, an intricate lighting system and a queen sized bed with blue covers that matched the floor.

Where they got lost in each other once again.

-...-...- With Christian Grey...-...

I woke at the usual time, seven thirty, with Ana tucked tightly into my arms. I softly unwound myself from her and tucked her back into the covers before reliving myself in our new ecosystem friendly bathroom, before making my way into the hall and down it until I found my daughter's bedroom door.

I wanted her new room to be as open as possible, so that she could be able to see a threat and make an escape easily, while Ana wanted her to have a place where she could hang out and relax in with her friends- our compromise was the tree house. Which still has top of the line security built into it.

As I open her door I instantly know that she isn't in her room. The bed was made, and the lights were off. For a moment I panic, forgetting all about the tree house that she loves so much. I turn and hurry down the hall toward Ryan, who should still be in the Security Office.

"Ryan, where is Nicolette?" I ask, not even bothering with a 'good morning'.

"The tree house with Max, they've been there for a while now." Ryan turned out of the way showing me the camera footage of the tree house.

"They haven't left."

"Where are they, show me the room." I demand, I have this sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach. Ryan nods and clicks on the screen a few times.

When we saw it, both of us recoiled and I do believe that the ever so stoic Ryan gagged a bit.

And then I saw red.
