Important-ish: Sorry about the wait, soccer was the issue this time. I got a concussion because some girl twice my size decided that shoving me into the goal post was a good idea. Just got cleared to use electronics. Sorry guys.

Chapter 37: Just a Farm Girl

It had been a week since Nicolette started living at Max's house, and within that week Nicolette had flown back to Haven, on an airplane with Max and the boys, granted they were in first class as the rest of her family stayed in Seattle trying to keep their distance like Max had asked, and attended her father's funeral. After two days of tears, hugs, friends and old church ladies Nicolette, Max and the boys came back home. Again first class.

The security guys were watching from a distance as the group of four did everything.

And slowly the four had their own routine.

Max would get up at seven and dress, before doing whatever work needed to be done outside. Moving tree limbs from the last storm; filling in holes that a mole, dog or some other animal made; shoveling snow; or some other yard work. Nicolette would wake up at seven thirty and get started on breakfast, before waking the younger boys and calling Max inside at eight. At nine or so Nicolette would clean up the breakfast mess while the boys washed up and went outside to help Max. Nicolette would pick up the house and then they would relax for lunch and some free time at eleven to three, when the boys would go outside to play and Nicolette would finish tiding up the house or laundry.

On the eighth day of being there everything was done accordingly.

Max woke up and went outside, and then Nicolette woke up and began breakfast. After finishing breakfast and waking the boys Nicolette went to the front door where she could hear Max's truck at work.

Poking her head out the door Nicolette saw Max's truck hooked up to some large tree branches and Max leaning against the hood trying to get rid of some girl who was flirting with him.

Her blonde hair was curled and she had about ten pounds of makeup caked on her face and her blue eyes were framed with glops of mascara, she wore a revealing red top with tight white jeans.

Nicolette watched as the girl continued to practically shove her cleavage into Max's face, Max would take a step back and the girl would take a step forward. Deciding to save her boyfriend, Nicolette opened the screen door.

"Max! Breakfast is ready!" Nicolette shouted from the front steps. She could hear Max telling the girl that 'his woman' was calling him and he'd better keep 'his woman' happy. Before turning and making it to the door.

And after giving Nicolette the kiss of a lifetime, strode happily into the house.

Nicolette shook her head and muttered something about men to herself before giving the whore-ish girl on the front porch a smile and wave before disappearing into the house herself.

That night she came back home to Christian and Ana, completely herself again.

000...000 Three Days Later... JANUARY 5...000...00 From the girl on the front lawn's POV

I grinned as all my best friends were waiting by the front doors of Brown's Academy, we wore our usual first day back attire, khaki pleated skirt with buckles on the hips- and the skirt ends below the knee, with our white blouses, maroon vest, khaki colored tie, and our shiny maroon flats. The closest to perfect we look the first week, the less teachers will bug us about our uniform later on.

Jane, Lucy and Cara are waiting for me. Jane and Lucy are twins, both with the long, shiny brown hair; and Cara was a blonde like me- although her hair wasn't nearly as healthy as mine.

"So did you convince that hottie teacher of ours to kiss you?" Jane asked as soon as I make it over to them, I sigh and shake my head.

"No, he had some whore living with him. I think they broke up the day I was flirting with them, I saw her leaving with all of her stuff." I answer with a shrug.

"Don't worry dear, he'll come to you." Lucy coos.

"Yeah, darling, it's obvious he's head over heels for you." Cara agreed.

"I'm not worri-" As I start to answer Cara, Max's truck pulls up. His two younger brothers jump out of the truck, shouting their goodbyes.

"Nikki will be here soon if you want to see her!" Max shouts to them as they start to dart to their end of the building- both boys stop in their tracks and reverse back to him.

"Who's Nikki?" Lucy whispers, as she whispers the question three vehicles pull up. An Audi, a SUV and an R8.

The R8 and SUV in the front.

Two men jump out of the SUV, one darts to the R8 to open the passenger's side door and another rushes to the Audi to open up the passenger's side rear door.

A female steps out of each door, and a man steps out from the driver seat of each car.

"Reynolds, stay with the vehicles. We will walk in with the Greys." A man orders, he is large, with a buzz cut and dark suit to match. The woman that stepped out of the R8, is in her mid twenties, with long, dark brown hair and bright blue eyes; she wears black stilettos with a black suit jacket and black work dress. The man that came out of the R8 wears a black pinstriped suit with a grey tie, with grey eyes and wild red hair to match.

The girl from the Audi, however, is the girl from Max's house. Long red hair is pulled into a perfect rolled bun at the base of her head, she wears the three-quarter sleeved black dress- that falls just above the knee- with the maroon cardigan and maroon flats.

In other words, she looks amazing.

Everyone in the school yard watches as two big men separate enough to allow the two boys to rush through and hug the girl.

"Morning Nikki!" They shout.

"Boys, shouldn't you be going on to class?" Nikki questions, the two boys nod- one helping her by grabbing the coach pack out of her Audi, before both gave her a kiss on the cheek and rushing off.

Max saunters over to her, saluting the two men as he passed by and pressed a kiss to her forehead.

Then she catches my eye.

I smirk as she forces a smile to her face.

"Nicolette, are you ready?" The woman from the R8 asks, Nicolette turns away from me and nods to the woman. And one big man pushed forward as the other trailed behind Nicolette and her family.

God, I hate her already.

Forty minutes later I'm sitting in my first class.

Farm skills and landscaping with Mr. Hartsville, I have two of his classes- as he is the only Agriculture teacher. So I have him first class and last class.

Beautiful.

I am halfway in a conversation about just who the mysterious girl from this morning is with Addison- who despite the name is male and wearing khakis, dress shoes, white shirt and maroon blazer with a black tie- speaks up.

"Her name is Nicolette Grey. Like the daughter of the Christian Grey. She was supposed to start first semester, but, ya know, she got kidnapped." Addison filled in.

"Well, I don't think she's that great. I mean, who the hell she think she is. Showing up with security?" I scoff.

I watched as she walked in beside Mr. Hartsville, they were laughing about something, he pointed to a desk and she sat- rolling her eyes. The bell rang.

"Alright class! Let's begin, everyone take your seats from last semester. And everyone, welcome Nicolette Grey into your class." Mr. Hartsville smiled his panty dropping smile.

We all sat in our seats, muttering welcomes.

"Let's begin with a review of what we learned last semester. Nicolette I will be highly disappointed if you knew nothing, so join in." Mr. Hartsville grinned at her as she shook her head.

"Now, what would happen if you kept a bunch of livestock- cows a bunch of cows, in the same field, let's say twelve acres for over three months?" Mr. Hartsville asked.

I racked my brain thinking about the answer, and I could tell every other girl in the class was too.

"Nobody?" Mr. Hartsville looked us over for another minute or two.

"Nicolette?" Mr. Hartsville asked.

"Overgrazing would leave the field completely useless until secession ran its course." Nicolette answered. I smirked, that couldn't be the answer.

"Good job. What about what would be wrong if you used chemical infused pesticides near an open food shed?" Mr. Hartsville asked. I raised my hand.

"You can't use chemical infused pesticides. It's illegal." I watched as Mr. Hartsville shook his head and Nicolette raised a brow at me.

"Nicolette?" Mr. Hartsville asked.

"The chemical pesticides could contaminate the food, and make it poisonous. You don't leave food sheds open while using any sort of pesticide." Nicolette answered, my anger bubbled over.

"How should we trust you on that? You're just a farm girl." I hissed.
