"Seth!" Summer exclaimed as she ran to the Cohens. Seth jumped up from his chair. "Summer; I told you, you didn't need to come." He gave her a tired kiss on the lips.

She gave him a 'are you kidding me' look. "Seth, of course I came. She's like a little sister to me I can't just sit at home knowing she's at the freaking hospital!"

Seth put his hands on her shoulders. "Okay okay, thanks for coming." A sad smile grew on his face.

"How is she? Is there any news?" She looked around at the distraught family.

Ryan grumbled jumping up from his seat. "No. No news and it's been hours!" He snapped causing Sandy to walk over to him.

"Calm down son. This isn't helping the case at all."

"Case? We aren't in the court room dad." He spatted receiving a disapproved look from Sandy. "You better watch it."

Ryan sigh, shakily. "I'm sorry I'm just scared dad. I can't lose her."

"Look Ryan, we're not going to lose her I-" Just then the doctor came over to the group.

"Looks like Elena has a big fan base." He smiled slightly.

"Is she okay?" Seth asked not amused by his comment.

"Her appendix burst while we were taking it out." Gasps filled the room. "But she's okay. She's in recovery and will be in her own room within the hour."

Everyone let out a sigh of relief. "Oh thank God." Ryan exasperated.

A few hours later Elena was wide awake, hopped on pain meds playing with Ryan's hair.

"Ryan can can I I have chocolate Pudding?" She asked letting go of his hair and leaning back against the pillow.

He nodded. "I'll go to the cafeteria and grab you some pudding. Mom, dad do you want anything?"

Just then Caitlyn ran in holding a big stuffed bear. "you're okay!"

Elena smiled and pushed herself up slightly. "Yeah I'm okay Caitlyn. Wow thanks for the bear!"

"You're welcome best friend! Is it okay if I call you my best friend?" She asked stting the bear in a chair.

"Yeah! Because you're my best friend too." she smiled.

"Okay, Lena, Ryan, dad and I are going to the cafeteria; we'll be right up." Kirsten kissed her head.

"Okay Mommy, I'll be here." The nine year old giggled.

The three of them left the room leaving Caitlyn and Elena to themselves. Elena slid over slightly in the bed. "Here get in the bed." She smiled.

Caitlyn kicked off her sandals and climbed in the bed. "any good tv?"

Elena shrugged "I dunno." She turned the small flat screen television on." she flipped through some channels when she saw Kim Possible.

"Oooohh yay I love this show!" Caitlyn squealed. Elena smiled. "Me too. I love Rufus. He's so cute for a naked mole rat."

Elena yawned which made Caitlyn yawn. "I'm so sleepy." she laid her head on Caitlyn's shoulder.

Caitlyn smiled and hugged her new best friend gently.

Ryan, Kirsten and Sandy walked back to the room with Seth and Summer only to find the two little girls asleep together on the bed.

Summer smiled taking out her iPhone 5 and snapping a picture. "So adorable."

"Hey can you send me that pic?" Ryan asked smiling. He walked over to Elena and kissed her head gently, placing the pudding on the table next to her.

"Yeah of course. I'll send it to all of you guys." Summer slid her phone back in her pocket.

The rest of the day went by pretty quickly. Everyone had fallen asleep in their chairs, just so happy Elena is okay.
