Aagh, I sense something. That stupid dog demon. He was released from his prison. Oh, what is this? He has a girl? Who is this woman, she looks just like- It can't be.
"Kanna! Fetch me your sister, Kagura. I need her to fetch me something..."
Inuyasha climbed into the well and held up his arms to catch Kagome as she hopped down. As soon as her skin touched his the floor collapsed from under them into nothingness for a moment and then suddenly reformed. They looked up and saw they were once again in Inuyashas time.
No one was around this time. It was nice, Kagome hated being bombarded with people. Her time period or fuedal Japan, it got tiring. She turned to Inuyasha who was just standing there.
"What? Aren't you glad to be back?" He shrugged and sauntered off towards the village. Kagome followed like a puppy. When they got towards the village limits they saw the people were all in a frenzy.
They hurried to Kaedes hut. She would know what was going on. She wasn't home. They were instead greeted by a distraught Shippo.
"What's going on Shippo? Everyone seems to be in a panic."
"The day you two fell into the well, someone stole the Lady Kikyos remains!" She gasped, who would do such a thing.
"It's a sign. A bad sign. Who knows whats going to happen. There have been these things flying through the skies at white things. Kaede has instructed everyone to remain inside until the sun comes up. Kagome i'm scared!" He ran to her and she embraced him as he shook with fear.
Inuyasha didn't say anything. After a second he turned around and ripped the door open, slamming it shut so hard the hut rattled.
"It'll be alright Shippo. I'll be here with you. Wheres Kaede?"
"She has been at the gravesite. She hasn't left since they discoved what they has been up there often too. Purifying the land" She nodded.
Kagome and Shippo remained inside for the rest of the day. Miroku arrived in the evening. He was tired and worn from the days work. Kagome Prepared a simple dinner from the food she brought from home.
"Kaede said she will remain on the hill for awhile longer. I have tried several times to get her to come home, but she is vigilent. She hopes the theif will return."
There was a whispy noise outside the hut. Kagome went to a window. She gasped, everywhere around her were these long white serpents floating in the air. They were all going in the same direction. They scared her tremendously.
She shut the flap of material used for a curtain back against the windown and went to embrace Shippo.
'I wish Inuyasha were here,' she thought to herself. She didn't want to frighten the little boy cradled in her arms more than he already was. Miroku had his eyes closed and head down in prayer. The serpents kept on coming through until sunrise. Kagome couldn't help but wonder what Inuyasha was doing.
Inuyasha had stormed out of the hut and hurried to her gravesite. When he arrived there were dozens of gifts lined up against her marker. The cave her remains were placed in was blocked off. He could see Kaede in there inside a white circle. She was muttering some prayer or spell. Who knows, who cares? It isn't going to fix anything.
He turned to face all the guests standing around. He growled at them and they all hurried away. Miroku stayed for awhile and kept praying and placing tokens everywhere.
'Why am I here? She betrayed me, she pinned me to that tree so long ago. Why do I feel the need to still protect her?' Inuyasha shook his head in disgust. The memory of her kissing that Onigumo was still fresh. How could he have been so Naive?
He took off into his forest. He needed to do some thinking. Before he knew it, the moon had risen in the sky. He heard them before he saw them. White-almost transparent snakes. They were flying through the air, hundreds of them. He watched in awe, they were so unusual. A cold chill ran down his spine. These were different from demons.
He stayed underneath his tree and watched all through the night. His eyes grew heavy and decided it was time to sleep awhile. Right as he closed his eyes, he heard crunching of leaves on the ground.
He opened his eyes and put up his arms in prepare for battle, but he was not looking at a demon. No, there she was. In her old clothes, with her hair done exactly the same. There she was not even ten feet away. The woman he had longed for, for the last fifty years.
