I haven't written anything for these guys in a while, so I felt I should. This one is AU, but it was such a cute situation that I couldn't help but write it!
Sorry for any mistakes as I'm sick and dealing with a head cold at the moment.
It was raining; the drops of water fell from the sky, as though they were mourning for the girl who sat on the bench. The hood she wore covered most of her head, though locks of auburn fell from the protection. She only wore shorts, a rabbit hoodie and a thin jacket that barely reached her legs.
She was cold, but she had nowhere to go. She was lonely, and frightened as she sat on the bench waiting for someone, anyone, to come to her. She felt so ashamed for that fight with her boyfriend, but she didn't understand why he got so angry.
'Ishida-kun was only asking me about the test. He didn't have to get so angry with me.'
But she knew her boyfriend was that kind of person. He was brash, and stubborn, not to mention rude to everyone. When he was around her, though, he was different. His personality was somewhat softer, and he treated her like a princess. Yes, there were times he'd accuse her of doing something she would never do, but he was just scared. And she knew he was, though he'd never come out and admit it.
Orihime allowed herself to space out, not wanting to think about the fight that happened, and what was said. She didn't mean to say it, but she couldn't control her words, and it slipped from her mouth.
"Why are you so angry? Ishida-kun was just asking about the test!"
Growling, Grimmjow glared at her, "I don't like how he gets close to you. I already allowed that idiot Kurosaki to be near you, but I don't trust him."
"Why don't you trust him? He won't do anything!"
"It's how he looks at you! We don't like each other! And yet, whenever he comes around, he always acts all high and mighty. He had no right to say that you can go to him for anything! That's not his job!"
"And whose job is it Grimmjow?"
Grabbing her by the sweater, he cursed before letting go. "It's my job! He's acting like he's your boyfriend and that I'm a piece of shit! Just because he's the smartest kid in the school, doesn't mean he can be your boyfriend! That job's reserved for me and only me!"
"I'M NOT JUST SOME PROPERTY YOU CAN CLAIM! I'm an actual person! I'm tired of being in the middle of everyone's fights! I have feelings too! And it hurts to know that you don't treat me like a normal person!"
Her outburst shocked Grimmjow, causing her to gasp. She had never once said such a thing to him. Not wanting to face him, she ran out the door, ignoring the stabbing pain in her heart.
Placing her head in her arms, she continued to sob, wanting the numbness to go away. She was so lost in her pain, she didn't notice the rain had stopped and a certain person stood over her.
"Hime…"
Gasping, she looked up into blue eyes, pain evident in those orbs. He held an umbrella over their forms, the rain continuing to fall in the background.
"Grimmjow…"
Outstretching his hand, he cupped her cheek, keeping her grey orbs on him. Getting down on his knees, he looked straight at her, noting just how beautiful she was despite being soaked.
"Please don't cry anymore. I'm sorry for being such an ass. It's just; I'm worried that one day you're going to leave me for someone better. Not that I can blame you, since I have jealousy issues. It's something I have to work on, and I'm not used to being in a relationship with someone as beautiful as you. My point is… I love you, and I don't want to lose you."
Her eyes widened at the three words he'd never said before. Tears brimmed at the corner of her eyes before she jumped into his arms.
"I love you too, Grimmjow."
Smirking at her words, he brought her face to his and kissed her gently. This wasn't how he had planned on confessing, but he was glad he chose to do it like this.
