The morning was met with old arguements; leading Kagome to make the decision. She looked to the village they had left and then back at the village up the mountain. After a long moment, she picked up her bag, sighed and headed up the road, not bothering to see if they followed.
Inuyasha had a smug look of satisfaction on his face all day. They didn't bother to stop, seeing as it was so close now. As they neared the little town, they could hear screams. Kagome paused with nervousness.
What was up there exactly? She wondered, she heard a huge roar and more screams. Inuyasha pushed past the girl and lept from rock to rock and hurried to the defenseless village. Miroku rushed forward, following after him.
Inuyasha flew into the village and paused in awe. A giant dragon man was stomping on the houses. He had half a torso in one hand and a chest ripped open in the other. It was a massacre. Kagome and shippo finnally reached the men and gasped.
Kagome looked hard at the dragon demon.
"Inuyasha! He has a shard, in his right hand!" Inuyasha nodded and took a good look, it was quite noticable. Twice the size of the other one with muscles bulging. Inuyasha yelled.
"What do you think your doing Slime?" The demon turned around and dropped his lunch. He tilted his head in confusion, he was five times the size of this half demon. How dare he talk to him like this.
"Your too late. Thisssss town issss mine now." He hissed, but Inuyasha leaped into the air as he drew his claws.
He raked his hand across the demons face as he screamed "IRON REAPER SOUL STEALER!" The dragon stumbled back and grabbed for his head. This only angered him more. He stood up and ran blindly towards the moving figure. He swiped his claw and hit Inuyasha in mid flight! The boy went down instantly and Miroku moved forward. He uncovered his hand and lifted it to the sky.
Kagome let out a small scream, he had a pitch black hole in his hand! He bellowed "Wind tunnel!" You could see the whole sucking wood from the houses and trees into it. The demon pulled against the force but was losing quickly.
Inuyasha, who was laying on the ground called to Kagome. She ran to him and he moaned, "Kagome, the shard." She realized then that if Miroku sucked him up he would also lose the jewel piece. She ran to him and told him this. He nodded and pulled the cover over his hand. Instead he took his staff and began chanting spells.
The demon regained his footing and laughed at the group. "You think you could take my shard? You all are a joke." He walked slowly clenching and unclenching his fist. Miroku stepped back nervously and Kagome hurried to Inuyasha and Shippo. They embraced each other in fear. He picked up Inuyasha and began to slowly crush his middle.
Inuyasha let out a yelp and Kagome a cry. Shippo covered his eyes and Miroku prepared his wind tunnel.
All of a sudden, a slash was heard and the demon roared. Kagome looked up and saw his head and arm was severed. Inuyasha was laying on the ground unconscious. Kagome hurried to him. He groaned a little. Miroku hurried to the arm and pulled the shard out of his hand.
"I'll be taking that. As well as that filthy half demon. When he wakes up." They heard from behing the dead beast. They looked up to see a man in white, with hair like Inuyasha but clearly a full demon. He was holding a sword aimed right at Miroku.
