Jem was standing at his Parabatai's door, "Will, Will, please open the door. I'm sorry I lied to you, I was just trying to protect you."

The door came flying open, his blue eyes red with tears, "Last time you lied to protect me you died, or I spent a time thinking so, Tessa too."

My god, Tessa, he hadn't even thought about her yet.

"But the last time you tried to protect me, Will, you spent five years of your life alone. Will, do you have any idea what it is like to be looked at, but not seen as you are. I do, I have now lived through it twice. And it killed me not telling you! So dammit William, why can't you understand that?!"

Will looked shocked like the night Jem had struck him. Suddenly Will engulfed Jem in a hug. He felt the tears soaking into his collar, but he didn't care.

"I have missed you brother. More than you will ever know. Now, you find Tessa and talk to her. I warn you though, she won't take it much better than I did."

Jem nodded as Will closed the door. He was about to ask where his wife might be, but then she never did leave that library. As he was walking to the library he over heard Camilla yelling at his son, "What do you mean she left you? She is completely in love with you!"

Will's voice was loud, "I know she loves me, but that's why she left, she's trying to protect me!"

"What is that supposed to mean, Will?"

He heard his son take a deep breath, "A demon threatened to curse me unless she left me, so she decided to save me."

"Oh Will, I am so sorry."

"It's okay Camilla, it's okay."

Once Jem knew his son was going to be all right he started to walk to the library again. He go near the door to the library, which was cracked an inch. He saw Tessa sitting in her favorite chair reading her favorite book, A Tale of Two Cities.

"Will, Will, is that you?"

Jem stepped through the door, now terrified. "Uh, no Tessa, its me."

She smile her sweet smile, "Oh, Stephen, can I help you with anything?"

"Tessa listen, I am not who you think I am."

She gave him a confused and concerned look, "Tess, its me, it's uh Jem."

All the color drained from his wife's face. "No, you are lying. We don't find a cure. It's impossible."

It hurt him to see Tessa in this much pain, "I'll prove it. Twenty years ago you came into my room whilst I was destroying my violin. You told me you loved me and called me beautiful. I would have given myself to you right then and there. Except, my box of yin fen fell off my bedside table. I made you leave my room, and we didn't talk about it again. There do you believe me now?"

Tessa's eyes filled with tears as she wrapped her arms around him and kissed him. She then smiled, "I never thought I would be able to do that again. I love you so much."

He tightened his embrace, "And I you, Tessa Gray. Always have, always will."

"Wait, William, am I?"

"Yes you are William's mother."

She smiled giddily, "Oh that's wonderful, and his Parabatai is a Herondale, it is funny how things turn out, is it not, James."

"Will is a lot like James in a sense, he has the same gift but its stronger, we assumed it was because you have more power there, and Elizabeth —"

"We have a daughter too?" Tessa seemed so happy to know she had another family.

"Yes and she is clairvoyant. So don't try to lie to her, she'll see that from a mile away."

"James I would never lie to my daughter, nor anyone in my family for that matter."

She stepped closer to him, about to give him another kiss. However, she suddenly stopped and stepped away from him.

"Will, does he know?"

Jem's heart ached seeing her so distressed over her two lovers, though he knew her heart belonged to Will in this time.

"Yes, he sent me to you. Tess, this won't change anything. They don't find a cure until the begging of the 21st century. You love Will now while you can, I waited for 135 years already. I can wait a little longer. Now would you like to come meet your daughter?"

She nodded and followed him out of the library.
