Ch.9

The Shingami gang was shocked as the three children finished their story while Jade clung tightly to Viximon; Ginta hugged his twin while Kitmon sat in his lap while Ichigo said "So this Myotismon will be checking all the children in Tokyo to find the 8th child?"

Sousuke nodded with a sigh as Ichigo looked worried for his sisters, Ginta then spoke up and said "I have a feeling that your sisters aren't the one he's looking for anyways..."

Orihime then asked "Sousuke...Where's your Digimon partner?"

Sousuke shrugged and said "I have no idea...something tells me that I'll be meeting them soon enough."

Orihime then noticed Jade yawning along with the Digimon and smiled as she asked "Tired guys?"

Sousuke and Ginta nodded with Jade as Orihime smiled and led Ginta and Jade to the two extra rooms in the house where there were two comfortable beds for them. Sousuke wished them a good night and Jade smiled sleepily before heading into the room, Ginta smiled and returned the gesture before yawning. Sousuke waited until the twins were asleep before going to Ichigo and Orihime to tell them about the abuse the twins were living with and so they could make a plan to get them out of the Dursley household.

Needless to say, both Ichigo and Orihime were horrified as Sousuke described some of the things Ginta had told him in private that had happened to him and his twin. Unknown to them, Ginta was listening to their planning and hoped that it would work to get them away from the Dursleys...

Meanwhile...

Myotismon had just woken up and was waiting for the sun to finish setting so he could search for the twins, he sighed and then noticed the sun had gone down so he flew into the night air as he sent his bats out to search Tokyo city. Two hours later, one of his bats came back and told him that it had found the twins. Myotismon sighed in relief and told the bat to keep an eye on them until he could retrieve them himself; the bat nodded then flew off to the south east part of the city...

Two days later...

Sousuke smiled comfortingly at Jade as Isshin talked with Ginta and her about the abuse, he also documented the scars they had and made notes of what they were caused by according to the twins. Isshin was furious as he looked at all the scarring on their backs caused by the buckle of a belt and they each had the word "Freak" carved into their upper backs; he quickly documented everything and made copies of everything just in case when they were interrupted by the doorbell. Isshin had Orihime get the door as he talked with the twins some more while noting their bodies were not up to the proper weight and looked malnourished, Isshin then heard yelling from the front door as Jade paled and buried her head into Ginta's shoulder while Kitmon and Viximon hid in their backpacks. Ginta's face went emotionless as the Principal of their school stormed in and said "You two are always causing problems! You were due at the school half an hour ago!"

Isshin then stood up and snarled "Back off! These two are under my protection and are not going anywhere! I will not let abused children go back to abusive relatives and I've already reported this to the police back in England and here as some of the scarring and bruising look like they have recently happened within the last few months!"

The principal looked furious and said "These two are Liars and troublemakers! They always have been!"

Isshin then stood and said "So you're denying a licensed Doctor's testament and findings as well as the testimony of these children?"

The principal looked at him in disgust and said "show me the proof then!"

Isshin smirked and showed him the photos and his notes causing the principal to gulp at seeing the photos and notes, Ginta and Jade looked at him in disgust as he then said "They are still English citizens and under my care thus you cannot keep them with you!"

Isshin just laughed and said "Well from what the police told me in little Whinging, they will be investigating the school and its staff to find out how no one reported this abuse since the Dursleys have been complained about before."

The principal paled at that then tried to grab the twins' arms to drag them out of the house, Isshin quickly intercepted and booted the principal from the house as he said "I suggest waiting for the police before making a move to get them out of my temporary custody..."

Three hours later...

Jade and Ginta were waiting with Sousuke to be picked up by Joe and his dad as Isshin made sure that every piece of evidence of the abuse was copied a few times, they then heard forceful pounding on the door and Isshin told Jade and Ginta to go with Sousuke. The three nodded and headed upstairs as Isshin answered the door to the Principal and a police officer, the principal then accused Isshin of kidnapping the twins as the Police officer recognized Isshin and sighed. The principal then demanded that Isshin give him the twins and Isshin growled at him as the Officer said "Isshin, Why aren't you releasing the children to the Principal?"

Isshin then showed him the photos of the twins' scars and the statement from the twins that told who had done the damage to them; The officer looked shocked and angry as he then turned with an emotionless mask to the principal and said "I'm afraid he has every right to do what he's doing. We take Child Abuse very seriously here and we will be making sure the Police in England get on this case right away!"

The Principal sputtered as the officer then escorted him off the property and Isshin closed the door, the kids then came down and sighed in relief at the Principal being gone. They all then heard another knock on the door and Sousuke opened the door to find Joe standing there with a smile, Jade grinned at seeing him as Ginta and Sousuke greeted him then the three followed him to the van waiting in the driveway...

Meanwhile...

Gatomon watched Kari from the back of the couch and inched towards the unsuspecting child when Kari suddenly turned and tried coaxing the cat-like Digimon into her arms, Gatomon fell then head out the opened door so she can figure out why she was having trouble attacking Kari...

Meanwhile, with Sousuke...

Sousuke had split up from the others and walked into a park where he noticed a Digimon putting on a magic show for the children, he watched as the show ended and then walked towards the Digimon while he was unaware his digivice was flashing. The Digimon noticed him and as soon as their eyes connected, Sousuke gasped at the same time as the Digimon. He approached the Digimon and said "Who are you?"

"My name is Wizardmon...and you are?"

"Sousuke Aizen..."

Wizardmon then smiled and said "It seems there is a connection between us somehow..."

Sousuke nodded then Wizardmon excused himself as he disappeared, Sousuke smiled as he had a sneaky suspicion as to who Wizardmon was to him. He then noticed the time and headed back towards the meeting place to meet up with the others. He noticed it was starting to get dark as he hurried towards the others and never noticed the digital bat fluttering above Ginta and Jade to alert Myotismon, Jade and Ginta were yawning as Tai invited her and her brother to spend the night so they could meet his little sister who was their age, the two accepted as Tai also invited Sousuke to stay the night. Sousuke nodded with a smile and the four trekked back to Tai's home as they quietly talked...

Later that night...

Jade was on the balcony with her brother looking up at the night sky, Jade then sighed as she held a sleepy Viximon causing Ginta to ask "What's wrong?"

"I'm worried...something is telling me we're going to be in more danger then ever if we have to go back to the Digital world..."

Ginta sighed and said "Whatever happens, we'll face it together."

Jade smiled at her brother when they saw a little bat fluttering in front of them, Jade and Ginta looked confused as Jade then realized "You belong to Uncle Myo, don't you? Did he ask you to keep an eye on us?"

The little bat nodded and then fluttered over to nuzzle Jade's cheek, Jade smiled then yawned as Ginta said "We should get some sleep."

Jade nodded then followed her brother into the house where they climbed into bed; the twins were soon fast asleep as they were unaware that Wizardmon and Gatomon were trying to get Kari's Tag and Crest at that very moment...

Meanwhile...

Myotismon threw Wizardmon into the bay as he captured Gatomon and locked her into a cage before going to sleep in his coffin. He slept until dusk then asked if anyone had found the 8th Digidestined yet, he received a negative response so he growled and made a thick fog surround the district. He then ordered Phantomon to round everyone up whether they were adult or children from the other districts and take them to the convention centre so that they could find the eighth Digidestined, Phantomon nodded and left to do his task while Myotismon sighed with worry for the twins...

The next day...

Jade yawned as she sat up and noticed the little Digi-bat was sleeping next to her on the pillow, she smiled and gently petted the little bat who stirred at her touch. Jade then giggled as the little bat yawned and blinked sleepily up at her, Jade gently scooped the little bat up and let him snuggle close to her neck before falling back asleep. Jade smiled at the small creature's reaction when she suddenly noticed the eerie fog that blocked out the noise and sights of the city around them, the hairs on the back of her neck stood up as she quickly backed away into the building and swiftly shut the door before she ran to talk to Tai, Kari, Sousuke and her brother. She had a bad feeling about the fog outside and shivered slightly as she found the four talking in Tai and Kari's bedroom, Ginta looked up then quickly gained a look of concern at seeing the way Jade was acting as he asked "Jade…What's wrong?"

Jade quickly filled them in as they then heard the sound of the front door being pounded on repeatedly and screams from other residents of the building nearby, Ginta and Jade looked at each other as Sousuke opened the door just a crack to peek out and hissed "We have to leave, there's a bunch of ghost like digimon searching the apartment…"

Ginta then said "Sousuke, get Tai and Kari out of here. Me and Jade will distract them and lead them away with our partners; it's possible they're here for Kari…"

Sousuke nodded as he quickly shifted to his dragon form while Tai quickly put Kari on his back along with Agumon, Tai managed to get on also just as the Bakemon began trying to break the door down and Sousuke was quick to take off into the sky seconds before the Bakemon broke through while Jade and Ginta were quick to use their magic to deliver a minor beat-down to the ghost like digimon to give the others time to get away. Sousuke could hear the yelps of pain as he flew off into the fog and made the silent wish "Don't get hurt, you two …."

Meanwhile…

Jade and Ginta panted lightly alongside Renamon and Kitsumon as the Bakemon kept trying to grab them roughly until the little Digi-bat woke up from where Jade had placed the small creature in her hoodie's front pocket so it wouldn't get hurt, the little bat was soon fluttering around the twins protectively as the Bakemon paused in their attack at seeing the small animal circling the two children. The ghost like digimon looked at each other nervously when they suddenly heard a voice asking what the holdup was and a grim reaper like ghost type digimon floated into the room, One of the bake then spoke up nervously "Phantomon…these two have one of Lord Myotismon's bats guarding them for some reason…"

The Phantomon looked at the two digidestined and the small bat before he sneered and said "Kill the bat and take the children, it's highly unlikely that Lord Myotismon would actually send one of his bats to protect these two and we have our orders."

Jade and Ginta glanced at each at the same time their Digimon did and nodded as Ginta, Renamon and Kitsumon quickly stood in front of Jade protectively, Jade then gave a small smirk as she quickly headed for the small balcony with the small Digi-bat and quickly asked the small creature "Can you lead me to Uncle Myo? Ginta and the others will keep them busy long enough for us to escape."

The small bat nodded then the two of them quickly made their escape as the sounds of a fight started inside…

An hour later…

Jade was exhausted as they finally made it to where her uncle Myo was after dodging tons of Bakemon on the way, she followed her tiny companion to the top floor where the viewing platform was and noticed her Uncle talking to the same Phantomon from the apartment earlier. She quickly hid out of sight while her small companion made his way over to his master to make it look like he was delivering a report just as the Phantomon left the area, Myotismon looked surprised to see the small animal but his expression soon turned into one of shock and delight as he turned and called out "it's alright, Jade…it's safe to come out now."

Jade was quick to run over and tackle him in a hug as she felt his arms embrace her protectively, Jade then squeaked as she felt him scoop her up gently and cuddle her close while he whispered "I was so worried about you two….I'm glad you're safe but where's your brother?"

Myotismon listened as Jade told him what happened at the apartment of the Child of Courage between her, her brother and the Bakemon plus she told him what Phantomon had said, she then told him that her brother and their digimon had stayed behind to buy enough time for her to get a good start on finding him but she didn't know what happened after that. Myotismon nodded as he then summoned one of his other "minions" and asked them to get Phantomon to bring the child and the two Fox based Digimon with the child to him unharmed, the digimon nodded then quickly left to do as told while Myotismon carried Jade into the building where it was a bit warmer and sat in a nearby office chair. Jade smiled up at him and then cuddled close as she asked "Uncle Myo….can you tell me a bit about Mom and what she was like?"

Myotismon's eyes softened as he gave a sad smile to Jade but he then told her stories about the adventures he had traveling with her mother and how she was so loyal and protective of the she loved and cared about with one of the biggest hearts he had ever seen in a person, Jade listened with total attention as she learned about the mother she had never known while they waited for her brother to arrive….
