Chapter 24- Rescuing Morgan
Peter Pan's POV
I ran to the campsite as fast as I possibly could with one thing on my mind, rescuing Morgan from the Indians. MY battles were putting her in danger, I couldn't allow that. Normally, I wouldn't mind lost boys taking the fall for me, but this time it wasn't just any lost boy, or girl for that matter. Morgan stands out from the crowd and makes me feel ways I never thought I could feel before, which is kinda ironic saying she's pretty cold-hearted herself.
I managed to calm myself down when I walked into camp, afterall, I couldn't let Henry know that anything was wrong, he would probably think that I did something horrible to Morgan, so telling him just wasn't an option.
I calmly walked over to where Felix was sharpening a stick.
"Felix, we have a problem", I said, keeping my voice low.
"Is it them? Are they getting too…", Felix began, before I cut him off.
"No, they're not the problem".
"Then who is… did Neal escape?".
"No, it's the Piccaninny tribe, they want their princess back".
"So they took Morgan… are you sure?".
"Definite… I believe they think Morgan is our princess so they're thinking of trading a princess for a princess".
"So are we giving them Lily back?".
"What choice do we have, we can't lose Morgan… in case you've forgotten, she holds one of the hearts of the truest believers".
"Are you sure that's all?".
"What the hell do you mean Felix?".
"You care about her, don't you Pan".
"That's bull shit, she's just a pawn".
"Pan I know you, you act different around her, don't deny it".
"Felix, I didn't come here for you to talk about the non-existent love life between Morgan and myself".
"Then what are you here for".
"I need Tiger Lily, she's the only way to get Morgan back unharmed".
"Do you want me to come with to help with the swap?".
"No, I can handle the Indians. I need you to stay here to make sure camp continues to run smoothly and to make sure Henry gets suspicious".
Morgan's POV
I woke up to the sun shining in my eyes, taking in my surroundings. Nothing was familiar to me; I saw men, women, and children some distance away from me, not too far where I couldn't see them, but not too close where I could easily see them. Where was I?
I tried to get up, but was unable to, I remained in place. I looked around to see what might have caused this, only to see a rope tying me to a tree. Okay, what's with this place and tying me up? I tried to remember how I even got here; all I could remember was the fairies, Pan kissing me, running away, and the pain, after that, I couldn't remember anything else. I could still feel the pain coming from my left ankle so I knew that last night was not a dream, and neither was the present, so the real question is how did I even get here.
I noticed some people walking towards me; I guess they noticed that I was awake. As they got closer I noticed that they were Indians, the dark skin and feathers in their hair pretty much gave it away. Whom I assumed was the leader began talking wicked fast Indian to me; I just had a confused on my face. He seemed to be waiting for me to respond, but my facial expression remained the same.
"Girl", he said in English, finally catching on that I don't fucking understand Indian.
"What the fuck do you want with me", I replied angrily.
"Watch your tongue".
"I'll do as I want, now answer me; why am I here?".
"The Lost Ones have something that belongs to us; we're going to get it back".
"And how exactly am I part of this? Shouldn't you be going after Pan?".
"You are the key to everything, when Pan comes to collect his princess, we will get ours back".
Princess? So these Indians think I'm a princess, are they CRAZY? I'm probably the farthest thing from a princess possible. But EVEN if I was a princess, these Indians are forgetting one fatal flaw in their plan, Pan only cares about himself, there's no way he'd come for me.
Peter Pan's POV
I was making my way through the Neverwoods, with Tiger Lily in tow of course, after a few hours of sleep. With each step I took, I knew I was getting closer to saving Morgan. The captive princess was of course complaining about how much her legs hurt or whatever, but then again, she was locked up for a few centuries. I tuned the annoying princess out, focusing on my mission and what Felix had said the other day. Did I have feelings for Morgan? I just pushed that thought to the back of my head; I'll deal with my feelings later. I looked around, taking in my surroundings, I was there, Morgan wouldn't have to suffer any longer.
I cleared my throat; the chief eyed me, taking notice of the princess behind me. I looked around the Indian's territory until I spotted Morgan tied to a tree with a pissed look on her face. The chief and I just looked at each other for a while, before he finally broke the silence.
"Okay, let's just swap princesses and get this over with", the chief said.
"You think Morgan is a princess? Have you MET the girl, she's not exactly well-behaved or acts even remotely close to a princess", I replied.
The two of us glanced over at Morgan, she was beautiful enough to be a princess, but because of her attitude, anyone could tell there is no way she could possibly be a princess. I took note of how her cherry red lips stood out from her long, wavy, medium brown hair that flowed freely, loosely framed her face. Her chocolate brown eyes met mine, I could sense how uncomfortable she felt being helpless. Her lightly tanned skin complemented the black skinny jeans she wore along with the red crop top that was paired with the jeans, as well as a pair of multi-colored high top sneakers that completed her look.
The chief and I returned our gazes to each other.
"Whatever she is, let's just do the trade and get this over with", he said.
"Fine, and stay away from the Lost Ones and we'll stay away from the Piccaninny tribe, deal?", I replied.
The chief just nodded his head in response. I pushed Tiger Lily forward, freeing her, allowing her to be part of her tribe once again.
Using my magic, I transported Morgan into my arms and held her bridal style; no way was I going to let the Indians touch her. Yes, I could've got her back earlier by using magic, but, I knew the Piccaninny tribe would continue to kidnap Morgan until I gave them back their princess. Turning on my heel, I left Indian territory and headed into the Neverwoods.
Morgan's POV
Pan and I stared at each other, not knowing what to say as Pan continued walking in the Neverwoods with me in his arms. I looked into Pan's eyes, trying to ignore the pain in my left ankle, searching for something to say to him. Finally, I spoke up.
"Why did you save me?", I asked.
"Did you really think I'd let you take the fall for me?", Pan replied.
"Truthfully? Being captured by the Indians made me think otherwise".
"Morgan, I would never put your life in danger because of my actions".
"Then why did you wait so long before you saved me".
"Even as powerful as I am, I couldn't get you without giving them Tiger Lily".
"Cocky much?".
"Yet it's okay when you are".
"Pretty much".
"You're so full of yourself".
"Oh, and you're not?".
"Point taken".
Peter Pan's POV
It had been hours since I had rescued Morgan from the Piccaninny Tribe and my arms were growing tired from her weight in my arms. I stared into her chocolate brown eyes, thinking about what to say. The silence was bugging me, so I finally blurted out what I needed to say to her.
"Morgan, I think it's time you start walking yourself", I said.
"I…uh…don't think that's…uh…possible", Morgan replied, sounding nervous.
"Why not?".
"I think I…uh… broke my ankle".
"WHAT? HOW?". I couldn't contain my anger, Morgan meant so much to me finding out that she got hurt just angered me, I wanted to show no bloody mercy to whoever hurt her.
"It's kinda a long story".
"Spill it", my eyes flashed angrily.
"When I was running from you after you know what, I heard voices and footsteps behind me. I assumed it was the other Lost Boys that you sent after me. I turned my head to see who was chasing after me exactly while running. Then, as stupid as it is, I tripped on a rock and rolled down a hill. I heard a loud snapping sound and my left ankle hurt like hell. The pain overwhelmed me and I let out a loud scream, which I guess is how they found me. When I finally stopped tumbling, I fell face first on the ground. I tried to get up, but I couldn't, the pain was too much. Even though I couldn't run or even get up, I continued to fight. I started dragging myself on the forest floor, with my injured leg levitated, then they came. Soon enough they overpowered me and I was unable to do anything, they easily tied me up and gagged me, they threw some weird powder into my face and I fell unconscious, the next thing I knew, I was tied to a tree at the Indian camp".
"Wow… you weren't kidding".
"Well in this case, I think we should wait til tomorrow until going back to camp".
