Chapter 30-New Adventures
Morgan's POV
I so wanted to punch a lost boy or do SOMETHING. I was so friggin' angry now that I knew who my biological parents were. I'm apparently a descendant of FAIRY TALE characters! And I thought my life with complicated enough with my maybe feelings for Pan who is NOTHING like the stories. Oh yeah, and I also have a twin brother who is also trapped on Neverland with me. For the first time in what seems like FOREVER, I DON'T know what I should do. I can't talk to, or rather yell at someone because Pan pretty much cares about himself, the lost boys are only good if I want to beat them up, and I'm forbidden to tell Henry about all of this. Normally I wouldn't care what I'm allowed to do, but this time things are different. It's one thing to threaten me, but it's another to threaten the lives' of the family I just knew I had, even though I wanted to punch all of them in the face.
"So what happened out there?", I heard Henry's voice ask me. I turned to face him, knowing this would be the hardest lie I would ever have to tell. But not because I would be unable to lie, but because deep down I would know it felt wrong.
"What do you mean? I've been out there multiple times", I respond.
"You were gone basically all day. The most you have been gone before was like a couple of hours".
"I guess I'm just more familiar with Neverland now. And I may have had a bit of luck on my side. What's the big deal?".
"But he sent search parties for you and they showed up empty handed. How were you able to avoid them?".
"I'm not surprised. When I want to avoid someone, I don't let myself be found".
"But aren't you not used to a world of magic?"
"So what? Just because I didn't grow up around magic doesn't mean I can't take care of myself".
"I didn't mean it like that…it's just…uh…"
"Dude, chill. I was just messing with you, lighten up a little. Try to have a little fun. Besides, I've been here a little longer than you so I kinda have a grasp on this whole magic thing. Neverland is FULL of magic, it's kinda hard to live here and not know about magic".
"But still, how did you…", Henry started. I was confused of why he cut himself off but I knew there HAD to be a reason saying Henry LOVES to talk.
"Henry, Morgan. Just the people I wanted to see", Pan's voice says. Oh great, cause that is always so comforting coming from the guy who mostly acts like he doesn't have a heart.
"What do you want?", I ask Pan, not much expression showing.
"I want to show you two someplace special".
"No", Henry says boldly.
"No?", Pan asks, seemingly very foreign to the word.
"We're NOT going ANYWHERE with you", I say in response.
"Every time we listen to you something bad happens", Henry adds. Pan eyes me knowing that I was sorta behind why Henry was now rebelling against him, but I just smile innocently like I have no idea what he's talking about.
"Henry, go. Me and Morgan have some private matters to attend to", Pan says. Henry looks at me nervously, but I smile reassuringly. Or at least I think I do, the whole 'sensitive thing' is so not my forte. But Henry gets the message and leaves.
"What do you want Pan?", I ask, but in reality don't care whatsoever.
"Why are you making Henry be more like you?", Pan responds.
"I'M not making him do anything. He's deciding what he wants to act like around you by HIMSELF".
"And why do I have this feeling that you're behind it"
"Cause you're a paranoid dude who has no life".
"Or maybe you told him", Pan says, stepping closer to me
"Or maybe Henry's more like me than you thought", I respond, stepping closer to him so we were now inches apart.
"I wouldn't say that".
"Why so?"
"You're much more stubborn than him. And I'd be lying if I said that I don't enjoy being with you, despite all you've caused".
Henry's POV
I knew Pan was up to something and I wanted to find out what it was. Like if he was keeping my family from me or something.
"Hey Morgan, can I talk to you?", I ask Morgan.
"Sure. What do you want?", Morgan replies.
"I want to see what Pan's up to".
"I'll cover for you, just be careful".
"Really?! You'd do that for me?"
"Well sure. You've done it for me so many times. It's the least I can do".
"Thanks! But what about Pan?"
"You ask too many questions. And besides I think I can take care of him for a little bit".
"How long?"
"What's the second longest time I've been gone?"
"Two hours".
"Then that's how long you have. So don't waste it. Okay?"
"Are you sure you can keep him distracted for that long?"
"Just trust me. I can do anything I want". And with that any doubt Henry had was gone and he left to find out what exactly what Pan was up to, which could be anything. Even though I was quite interested, I needed to stop leaving camp so much now, or it could look suspicious.
Morgan's POV
I had to give Henry props, he may be a little stupid sometimes, but he's got guts. And that is valued in my book. My only concern is that Henry can handle himself in the Neverwoods because I know from personal experience that they aren't exactly the safest place to be. But saying he's, apparently, my twin brother I think he'll be just fine. Hoping that he has my survival instincts. Cause if not, he's pretty much screwed, well unless his, well our, family finds him.
