Humphrey POV (Time skip to the next day, Monday)

Thank God school's cancelled. Word got around about Shakey missing so they cancelled school so the police could speak with Shakey's teachers or something. But today's the first day that Salty, Mooch, Kate, Lilly, Jance, Garth, and I will have our first training day with the SSTA (secret service training association). Lilly and Garth slept in the parking lot of the police station in Garth's Hummer. Kate went home with me and slept at my house, and I'll drive her and Janice to the station, and Salty is giving Mooch a lift.

I looked over to Kate, who was in the same bed as me, and then looked at my alarm clock. It was 11:00 in the morning so I got up out of my bed, but accidentally woke Kate up.

"Morning Humphrey," Kate said smiling. She had her head propped up by her hand. She looked so sexy.

I saw her beautiful golden hair as she stepped in holding a towel around herself. She probably grabbed it off of my door handle when I intruded.

"It's ok Humphrey, it was just an accident, I know you didn't mean to. She said with a reassuring expression and a slight smile, as she moved closer to me and hugged me. "I just don't think you or I should feel love towards each other because one of us could die any day now. It's just not a good idea to have feelings for someone going into combat,"

"But Kate,"

"Humphrey, it just isn't a good idea I love you, and I always will, but now is not a good time,"

"I understand Kate, and you're right, but I love you too, and no matter what happens I always will, and you are right that any day we could die, but if that's the case, I want to spend Each day I have left loving you. Please Kate, don't leave me now!" I said with a few tears in my eyes, putting the towel back around her shoulders.

She was still sobbing, "I don't know if I could live with myself if you die," She sobbed.

"But it won't make a difference telling yourself if don't love someone if your heart tells you it wants to be with this person forever!" I said desperately trying not to loose my love.

"I just-" she started, but I kissed her and hugged her, pulling her to the ground, but she pulled away, pushing my head away with her hands cupped around my cheeks, and looked into my eyes, but then pulled my face back towards hers and kissed me.

She then said," Humphrey, you are the love of my life, and my heart tells me to stay with you, but my mind knows it isn't the best choice..." She paused and I looked astonished. She then looked into my eyes and said to me, "But I'm going to have to listen to my heart,". She grinned, and began crying, and I hugged her tight and said, "Kate, I will never let anything happened to either of us. I promise. Thank you!" I couldn't find any other words, but she said, "I know you won't my love," and she kissed me again, as we stepped out of the closet to start our day.

Hey guys! Great to be back posting another chapter. I hope this did a good job of strengthening Kate and Humphrey's relationshop, and I hope you all enjoyed it. It was Harding writing this chapter, just because I haven't felt the way Kate and Humphrey do in a while. But I hope it turned out okay, I think it was a bit more detailed then prior chapters but that is because I decided I'm going to take my time with this book. What I mean is, I'm going to write probably 40+ chapters! It's going to be long, but I figured I have it set up well enough to last a while and possibly a sequel. So I hope you all are still interested because this story will continue for a long time.
