Pokemon: Crimson and Azure

Chapter 4.1: Azure's Journey to Pewter City and Beyond

Azure hurried over to the Viridian Pokemon Center after her defeat. "I can't believe she beat me again!" she thought to herself whilst running towards the town in the distance. Ignoring all of the other buildings around, she immediately entered the Pokemon Center. While waiting for her Pokemon to heal, Azure chilled a bit in the Pokemon center, already planning out her next battle with her crimson-haired rival. She wasn't planning on losing the next time they meet. While she was thinking on how to improve her battle strategy, she noticed it had begun to rain outside. Looking at her wristwatch, she discovered she had wasted about an hour in the Pokemon center, just thinking, although her pokemon were all healed and ready to go.
After waiting out the rain, Azure set out once more, stopping by at the local shop to buy a few potions and such items, and also to learn how to use them. She remembered that there was a gym in this town, but after seeing it was closed down, she was left very disappointed. So instead, our azure-haired friend instantly set out to Viridian Forest and Pewter City, without wasting any time.
As she neared the forest, she stopped by at a nice little restaurant, with the daughter of the owner being overly obsessed with ratatta. Unfortunately for her, Azure hasn't captured one … yet. After a quick snack and chat at the restaurant, she entered the forest, passing by a lot of bug catchers, who seemed like nothing but a bunch of nerds and loosers to her. She was the best after all… or so she thought.
She denied all of their battle requests, thus blazing through the forest.
Whilst making her path through the thick forest, she captured two bug type pokemon quite easily, thanks to her spearow, and was out of the forest in a mere one hour after first entering it, thanks to a handy map application that was handed to her by an odd looking old man back in Viridian City.
It was now 5 PM and Azure already found herself in Pewter City. After a quick visit at the Pokemon Center, she quickly went to the Pewter City gym, which was open until 6 PM.
Entering it, she was greeted by a nice fellow who seemed to be a few years older than her. He kept bragging about the gym leader Brock, being very powerful, and wouldn't let her through without battling her first. She accepted the challenge and easily won with her squirtle, knowing that this was a rock type gym, and water types are very effective against rock types.
After his demise, the gym trainer gave her some extra cash for beating him and let her through.
She was then greeted by the gym leader: Brock. Brock seemed like a really cool guy. Aside from a gym leader, he was also training to become a fantastic Pokemon breeder. He told her all about Pokemon breeding, which intrigued her in a way. After a quick chitter-chatter, their battle began.
Brock was tougher than the previous trainer as he had two well trained rock types, whilst his buddy back there had two ground types.
Azure managed to win, although barely. If it wasn't for her Squirtle's bubble attack, there was no way she would have won. And with that, she received her first badge: The Boulder Badge. Her Squirtle also reached level 10. She left the gym, all hyped up about her journey. Instead of spending the night at the Pokemon center, she decided to head back to the Viridian Forest and camp out the night there, doing some training so that her other Pokemon caught up with Squirtle's level. She raised all of them to level 10 by the time the clock hit 10 PM, her bug types were now fully evolved, having a beedrill and a butterfree, and unlocking their pages in the Pokedex, along with their previous evolutions. Feeling all tired, she retrieved everyone to their Pokeballs, pulled out her compact sleeping bag that her mother had packed in her bag and went to sleep.
The next day, she began her ascent to Mt. Moon. After doing some research, she found out that there were quite a few rare species found up at the mystical mountain, including Clefairy. Plus, it was the only way to reach the next town. After some hiking and a few quick battles and level-ups, she reached a Pokemon Center located at the foot of Mt. Moon right at noon. After a quick break and snack, she entered the cave system of the mountain, catching a zubat along the way. Unfortunately, she had no luck with finding a Clefairy. She looked and looked and looked for hours upon hours … nothing.
There were occasional hikers here and there that she battled for easy money and EXP, leveling up her Squirtle to level 15 as it learned Withdraw, a useful defensive move.
During her search for a clefairy, she ran into a bunch of weirdos claiming to be Team Rocket. They looked quite intimidating and scary at first, but after testing their battle skills she realized they were all just as good as 10 year old kids. Beating them quite easily, she continued through the endless tunnels.
A little before finally reaching the exit, she managed to get her hands on an interesting stone. She thought nothing of it at first and put it in her bag, but after meeting up with a pokemaniac, he told her it was a very rare and valuable item called a "Moon Stone". Supposedly, it fell from the moon along with a lot of Clefairy. He suggested to trade it for a fossil he recently found, but when she denied, he got angry and challenged her to a duel.
She easily won as she was way over-leveled for him, and moved on.
Finally, she managed to exit the cave at 9 PM, the sun was setting and she was now near the ocean. Cerulean City could be seen in the distance. Since Azure was feeling very tired, she climbed a small hill near the entrance/exit of , and enjoyed the view of the sunset and the small town at the bottom of the mountain, as it slowly began to lit up the darker it got. Soon, it was all dark, apart from Cerulean City, which was shining brightly due to all of the people having their lights on in their humble little homes. Azure looked up at the night sky covered in stars of varying sizes and colors and sighed, a chilly night breeze blew her twintails. It was truly a magnificent sight that she would remember for the rest of her life.

/ Author's note: Looking back at the previous chapter, I noticed quite a few errors which made me feel dumb. Like for example, midway through I forgot that in Chapter 3, Crimson had actually caught a Nidoran (Male AND Female). I deeply apologize for that, maybe I shouldn't write these in the middle of the night before going to sleep … I'll try to fix things up as soon as I can.
In other notes, I know I blazed through this chapter without much to any detail whatsoever, but again, this is a subchapter, and subchapters are supposed to be just quick summaries of Azure's Journey, thus being called "SUBchapters"
I will still try to focus on describing the scenery as best as I can in these though, like the ending of this chapter.
Also, if any of you notice any typos here and there, address them to me via a review comment or PM, since I am a fast writer and tend to make a lot of typos. I know that MS Word underlines or autocorrects incorrect words but I want to make sure just in case. Thank you in advance.
