general POV
Humphrey, Janice and Kate began to get ready to leave humphrey's house to go to the police station. They passed David on the way out of the house. He was in pain from another hangover but was crying. Humphrey told the girls to go to his car, and then handed Kate the car keys as he walked over to David.
"Dude what's wrong?" Humphrey asked. David grabbed Humphrey and pulled him into a hug.
"I'm so sorry man, I didn't mean to hurt you that night, and I didn't mean to become a drunk when you and your sister needed me the most. I know about Shakey, and I don't know what to do to help." David continued to sob. It was awkward for Humphrey, because his older brother was always so stern, and something made him crumble all of a sudden.
"It's ok man, I'm...I'm just glad you're interested in helping find Shakey because we could use some help, actually," Humphrey was stuttering from nervousness building up inside of him.
"I'll be right back," Humphrey said. He broke the embrace between him and his brother, and ran outside, leaving his brother confused.
Humphrey told Kate and Janice how his brother wanted to help find Shakey. But he wasn't sure if it would be a good time to tell David about the whole SSTA thing.
"I think you should give him a chance," Kate said.
"Yeah, but if he doesn't agree to it...remember what the police guys said: no one can find out about our mission?"
"Well we better hope he says yes," Janice said, already walking back into the house.
Humphrey and Kate followed her back in. David looked up at them, then stood up from the couch.
"So David, are you sure you want to help us, it's going to be extremely time consuming," Humphrey said.
"Yeah...ok how?" David was still puzzled.
"Well long story short, it's too risky for police to go and save Shakey because he's at some party central place in the woods. A lot of highschool and college kids go there at night. But cops would easily be detected as suspicious characters by the people running the place, even in disguise, because they would be older than the average party goer." Humphrey stated.
"So basically their training us to go get him." Janice said.
David stared blankly.
"Sorry we didn't tell you but we weren't allowed to," Humphrey said.
David seemed to be trying to piece everything together.
"I'm fuckin' pissed you weren't gunna tell me about this shit...but ok, I'll do it."
Humphrey, Kate and Janiced seemed relief, and Humphrey said, "Alright, let's go."
Humphrey POV
Kate, Janice, David and I all drove down to the police department, and met up with Lilly, Garth, Mooch, and Salty.
"Hey guys, this is David, my older brother, he's gunna help out with this," Humphrey said. The other four wolves waved and lightly smiled. Everyone walked into the police station except for Garth, who pulled me aside.
"Dude what the fuck man, why didn't you tell us you're brother was gunna be here?"
"Calm down man I trust him, and he's gunna be a good help with getting us to shakes because he looks old enough to work at this party place."
"I don't give a shit about that, we are a team and we should communicate as a team. How do we know he won't just go and get drunk on us."
"He won't. But you're right I'm sorry I won't do it again,"
With that, we shook on it. Promising to be a team, and operate as a team.
Now with everyone in the lobby, we met with Brian who told us to meet him in the parking lot. We all walked back outside as we went around back.
As we walked outside we heard a white van pull up. It was Satereous, and Brian walking behind him.
"Hop in," Brian said as he got in the front passenger seat. We all piled in the back, along with two crates. One marked ammo, and one marked with nothing.
"What's in the crates?" Garth asked.
Satereous put the van in gear and started driving, then looked at Garth through the rear view mirror as he said, "Guns and ammo. But just for .22's, we're not gunna waste real bullets yet. Today's Day 1 of arms training. There's a course of five days. Today is weapons, tomorrow is excercise and endurance, Day 3 is operating as a platoon, Day four is reconassaince training, as well as hand to hand combat training, and Day 5 is mental focus testing, tech usage, and then shooting real guns will be incorporated with Days 2 through 5. We have five sergants where we will be meeting this week.
"Where will we be meeting this week?" Salty asked.
"It's called the unknown 15, because it's a private training facility only known about by the government. Civilians think it's a large mining facility." Brian said.
"Wait a second" David said, "How are we all supposed to get in shape in a week?"
"Well you guys aren't out of shape, you've got enough muscle for the job. Remember, you don't want to look like GI joes walking in there. People will get suspicious."
Mooch kind of looked worried, "What about me?" Mooch asked.
"Are you good with computers?" Brian asked.
I chuckled, "That's a hell of an understatement. Mooch can hack into any server ever created!" But then everyone looked at me, including Mooch.
" He can speak for himself,". Saterious grumbled.
"Hehe Sorry," I said, slightly embarrassed.
"But that's good though. Mooch will be the head technical support guy," Brian said.
Tey guyshe van pulled up to a dirt road and passed through armed gates. It looked like a military base, but empty, except for five guys in a clearance that was paved. We stopped an all got out of the car, not knowing what lay ahead.
Mysteries are the unknown, risks are the test of bravery. Balance is the key to success. Balancing risks in a mysterious situation is a test of courage, balancing bravery shown in the unknown is a test of honor.
