Pokemon: Crimson and Azure
Chapter 7.1: Azure's visit in Cerulean Cape
Azure was now in Cerulean City. Since it was so late, the gym was obviously closed. Azure decided to do the same thing she did back in Pewter City and sleep outdoors. She knew thanks to her map that there was a beautiful cape area north-east of Cerulean City, so she thought it would be a great idea to spend the night there.
First order of business however, was to heal her Pokemon. After a quick stop at the Pokecenter and the Pokemart, which was still open, Azure headed up the road to the cape, passing the silent and peaceful "Golden Nugget Bridge," according to the sign in front of it. Eventually, she reached an area with some trees by the small canal that lead back to Cerulean City. She set up her settlement there, and went straight to sleep.
The very next morning, she got up extra early. Stretching and doing her morning exercises, she decided to check out the cape before going back to Cerulean City for her gym battle. On the way there, she caught a lot of new Pokemon, including an Abra and Oddish. She also battled a fair amount of trainers, gaining a lot of EXP and cash from it.
Finally, she reached the end of the cape, and was surprised to see a small house at the peak. Approaching it, she read the mailbox. "Sea Cottage: Bill lives here!"
Now who on earth was Bill? There was no surname, which was odd. Was he a celebrity of some kind?
Out of curiosity, she knocked on the door, and was greeted by a fine young man.
"Why, hello there!" He said, fixating his glasses. "What brings you to Bill's place?"
"I dunno, I was just passing by and decided to drop by and say hello."
"Aww, well isn't that sweet!"
"Are you famous or something? The tag on your mailbox is … weird."
"Oh, why yes I am! I'm surprised you haven't heard of me. I'm the creator of the Pokemon storage and trading system! Huzzah!"
"Really? But you're so young …"
"15 years and already a famous inventor. Tough life, I know. But that's not all, I'm also a Pokemon collector and have quite a rare bunch of Pokemon. Care to see?"
"Sure, I'm working on a Pokedex, so that might help on my quest."
"Wow, a Pokedex! Those are actually quite rare, not many trainers get Dexes these days. You must be a very good trainer for Oak to give you one. He only chooses the best of the best when he's handing out his Dexes."
"Well, it's nothing really… Hehe"
Azure couldn't hide a light blush and an awkward chuckle, scratching the back of her head.
Bill let her enter his humble home. There were different kinds of inventions and machines all over the place. He shower her his collection of ultra-rare Pokemon, such as Slowbro, Jynx, Scyther, Chansey, Magmar and Electabuzz.
That didn't add full info in the Pokemon's page, but at least the dex could identify them now.
After her thanks, Azure left his home and found a neat shortcut leading all the way back to the beginning of the nugget bridge.
She noticed a lot of trainers were there, but she couldn't care less. All she wanted to do now was get to that gym and win her second badge.
As she was heading towards the town in the distance, she crossed paths with a similar face… somebody who has been following her tracks ever since the first day of their journey …
It was none other than her rival … Crimson!
/ Author's note: Sorry for the short length of this one, but I didn't feel like adding it in the next main chapter, and at the same time wanted to make things clear of how Azure got to the Cape before Crimson. Another good reason of why i kinda rushed this one is my eyes. Almost all day today my eyes have been feeling sore and hurt when i move them or even move my head. There's a 90% probability it's due to the amount of time i spend in front of the PC, which is why i rushed this. I'm truly sorry for that, but i'll do two chapters next week (Assuming my eyes will feel better by then...)
Next time: Cerulean Cape
