Pokemon: Crimson and Azure
Chapter 9.1: Azure's Vermillion Battle and Tour
Azure got up early as usual. Her first stop was the gym. The gym leader had electric types, which proved to be a big challenge, especially since her team consisted of a water and flying type and no ground types … Her battle ended in a near victory for her thanks to her Oddish, which evolved into a Gloom, but she still lost. Taking a break from battling for a while, she started to tour the town. First, the stopped by the Pokemon Fan Club. The place was quite boring, it was just a bunch of trainers talking about how great their favorite Pokemon was. In all honesty, she was expecting something more out of the place. Like, some battles or something. Azure quickly left before she had passed out from boredom and headed to her next stop: The pier. There stood the gigantic and elegant S. ship. Azure remembered she was invited. Although she couldn't just leave the area like this, as she was still on her quest, she still decided to check the place out.Azure felt like some sort of a country kid inside the ship. The luxury of even the hallways was too much for her … not to mention how fancy the cabins and furniture were. She enjoyed a short play in the indoors stage, a meal in the large dining area, cooked by the finest chefs in the region, and a few relaxing hours at the outside pool. Her Pokemon relaxed in the indoors Pokemon Center, too, as this was a ship for trainers, and there were bound to be battles onboard. Our hero was no exception, as she had quite a number of battles, raising her Pokemon's level by a lot. Near the end of her stay, when she overheard a conversation about the captain being a swordmaster, she decided to pay a visit to him. However, he was just a seasick old man! How ironic for the captain of such a large and fancy cruiser to be a seasick old man… She didn't think much of it, so she just left him there. She could have at least helped the old geek out, but she didn't even feel like it.
After descending the stairs, however, she saw a familiar and confused figure walking around … It could only be one person…
/ My sincere apologies for the length of this chapter and my lack of activity. I have been having some … health issues recently. I am alright now, but I've had a long and busy week of studying for my finals, so I had no time to write. And because I'm still recovering from the illness I had (which was pretty serious…) I couldn't extend this any further, as I usually write these during the night, before going to bed. And I need sleep more than anything right now… Next week's chapter will be much longer, I promise. The side chapters are usually short anyway, and they feel more like extras than anything..
Next time: Vermillion City and S.
