Chapter 48-No Place Like Home

Peter Pan's POV

After being thrown in one of Regina's jail cells along with the Savior, I stare aimlessly in the distance thinking of Morgan. I couldn't help myself, the thought of never seeing her again just tore me up inside. But that didn't stop me from eavesdropping on the conversation between the Savior and the mystery woman we had seen earlier.

"Are you alright?", the woman asks Emma.

"Yeah, I think so. Thanks. I'm Leia", the Savior replies, still sticking to her false identity.

"And who are you?", the woman asks me.

"Jacob", I respond coldly.

"I wish I could say, it was nice to meet you".

"Yeah, but under the circumstances, I get it. What's your name?", Emma replies.

"I dare not speak in here. The Queen doesn't know who I am. My silence is the only thing keeping my family safe".

"She's pretty ruthless, huh? How long are you in for?"

"Same as you. Just one more night".

"Really? One night? Why? Is Regina going soft?"

"No. One night, because tomorrow everyone in here is to be executed".

"Just perfect", I mumble bitterly.

"You have someone to get back to, don't you?"

"That's my business".

"I understand. I'm sorry".

"Just leave me alone, I don't need or want your pity".

Third Person's POV

Snow White walks a short distance before she's caught in a net. Laughing Prince James reveals himself to her.

"I told you I'd find you. No matter what you do I will always find you", Prince James tells her.

"Is this the only way you can catch a woman? By entrapping her?", Snow White replies.

"It's the only way to catch thieving scum".

"Aren't you a real Prince Charming?"

"I have a name, you know".

"Don't care. Charming suits you. Now cut me down, Charming".

"Why would I do that? Snow White. Relax. I'm not gonna turn you in. All I want is the ring you stole".

"Not the jewelry type".

"Indeed. I noticed".

"I don't have your ring".

"Then, why don't I believe you?", Charming asks. Hook and Morgan emerge from the woods.

"You should. She's telling the truth, mate. Snow White doesn't have your ring. But I can tell you who does. My princess. And I need your help to get her back", Hook tells them.

"She has my ring? That's two women who robbed me. Where is she?", Prince Charming demands.

"Well, that's the problem. The Queen's castle".

"Actually, that's not a problem at all", Snow says. "I know it well. It used to be mine. I can get us in there, but not from up here. So you let me down, you get your princess, you get your ring and I never have to see your charming face again". Prince Charming cuts her down.

"So why are you here?", Prince Charming asks Morgan.

"The Queen took something from me as well", Morgan replies.

Peter Pan's POV

"What's that?", the woman asks Emma upon noticing the ring.

"It's my parents'. I guess you could call it their wedding ring", the Savior replies.

"And they entrusted you with it?"

"Sort of. I need to get it back to them".

"Being away from family is a terrible, terrible thing".

"Yeah, it is".

"The longer I'm separated from them, the pain doesn't dull, it worsens. Maybe cause I know I'll never see them again".

"If my mom was here she would tell me to have hope. Maybe, you should, too. Who knows, maybe you will end up with them again".

"I don't think so. I'm fairly certain; they already think that I'm dead. And soon that'll be true". I look away distastefully after her comment; I refuse to believe that the end is near, not when I just got Morgan back. But she was right; being away from the person you truly care about is a horrible burden, and even I am not immune to feeling like this.

"Maybe not", the Savior suddenly says. "Give me your spoon". The woman hesitantly hands over her spoon. Emma entwines a wire around both spoons shaping it to a tool.

"What are you doing?", the woman asks.

"It's all about the tumblers". Using the wire Emma opens the cell in which me and Emma were.

"You did it".

I take no time in getting out of the cell; I'm about to leave the queen's palace when I notice Emma is hesitating to leave. Normally I wouldn't care, but if I tried to leave without her she'd probably try to make my life hell and prevent me from seeing her daughter.

"What are you waiting for? Go! Get out of here! Go!", the woman says.

"She's right, love. You never know when the black knights will return", I add.

Third Person's POV

After ambushing some black knights Charming, Hook, and Morgan storm into the Evil Queen's Castle in order to recover their allies who were currently in the queen's custody. Suddenly, Morgan stops in the middle of the corridor.

"Lass, what are you doing?", Hook asks her.

"Someone's coming", Morgan replies. Hook and Charming draw their swords, and a moment later Emma, Pan, and a woman appear.

"Morgan", Pan says instantly. He immediately runs over to her , picks her up, and twirls her around before kissing her on the lips.

"I take it you missed me", Morgan responds.

"Swan", Hook says to Emma.

"Hook", Emma replies.

"What the hell are you doing? You're depriving me of a dashing rescue".

"Sorry. The only one who saves me is me. Speaking of which—" slipping the ring off her finger. "I'm not gonna be around much longer unless we find where this belongs".

"I think that belongs to me", Charming cuts in, retrieving the ring from Emma.

"You guys have a way out of here?"

"Follow me. Snow told me where to meet her".

"Thank you, Leia", the woman says to Emma.

"Swan, you didn't", Hook says.

"She was to be executed in the morning. I couldn't just leave her there to die".

"Actually, if she's to die, she pretty much has to".

"I hate to break up a reunion but we have to keep moving. We have to find Snow White", Charming cuts in. "You too, Romeo", Charming says upon noticing that Morgan and Pan hadn't moved either.

"Come with me, lad", Hook says to Pan, grabbing him by the arm. 'I think we should have a little chat".

Morgan's POV

As me, Pan, Hook, Prince Charming, Emma and her cellmate wander through the upper floor of the castle, Hook stops to look out a window.

"What is it? Did you find Snow?", Emma asks.

"I'm afraid so", Hook replies. We all move to look out the window where we see Snow White being tied to a wooden stake.

"We have to get down there before it's too late", Emma says like she can stop this.

"I don't think we can", Charming tells her as Regina summons a magical fire ball in the palm of her hand.

"No".

Hook puts his arm around Emma. Throwing a magical fire ball the Evil Queen lights the stake. Emma sobs. Smiling The Evil Queen watches the stake burn.

Emma's POV

"After my brother passed, all I could do was relive that final terrible moment. Don't do that to yourself, love. All we can do in times like these is try to live in the here and now", Hook tells me at the campsite.

"Here and now", I say, noticing the significance. "I'm still here. How's that possible. We saw her die. Which means I would never be born".

"Or me", Morgan adds as she and Pan walk over to us.

"Both of you should have faded from existence", Hook concludes.

"Exactly".

"Then I guess she's better at surviving than I thought", Pan says.

"She's still alive. If Snow is out there, we have to find her", I respond.

"Cursed vermin", Hook states as he tries to shoo a lady bug away. "We should head back to the Queen's castle. Take a look around". Again he tries to shoo of the lady bug. "Perhaps it's a trick by Regina".

"No. Whatever happened. Regina thinks Snow is dead".

"Unfortunately, I agree with the pirate. And if you don't want that to become a reality, we can't give the queen any reason to make her suspect that Snow White's alive", Pan tells us. The lady bug lands on my arm.

"Stay still, love". Hook wants to crush the bug, when Prince Charming stops him from following through.

"Wait! Don't harm that thing", Charming tells us. "When we were coming to rescue you, Snow told me what her dust would do to the Queen. She said it would turn her into a form that could easily be squashed". Gently he picks the lady bug from Emma's shoulder. "A bug".

"You think Snow turned herself into that?", I ask doubtfully.

"Well, if she timed it right, she could have escaped that fireball. Faked her death and flown away". He takes a closer look at the bug. "Yeah, that's her. Just need to find a way to bring her back". The bug buzzes.

"She's saying something", I conclude.

"Wonderful. Anyone fluent in bug?"

"If anyone could it be you, laddie. You can be quite the pest", Pan retorts. The Blue Fairy emerges from the woods.

"She's calling for me", the Blue Fairy says.

"Blue", I exclaim.

"That's right. And you are?"

"Leia".

"No, that's not it. But your secrets can be yours. I sense it's better that way".

"Can you bring Snow back?", Charming asks.

"Dark magic did this to her. Light magic can undo it". Using her wand she transforms the bug into Snow White.

"I suppose I should thank you. You saved me", Snow says to Charming, approaching him.

"Well, it seemed like the honorable thing to do", Charming replies.

"I'm going to the stream to get some water. I can fill you canteen, if you'd like".

"Thanks", he hands her his canteen.

"They're warming up to each other. This is good. This'll work", I say to Hook, Pan, and Morgan, overhearing their conversation.

"That may be, Swan. But we have another problem", Hook replies. Hook nods towards Emma's former cellmate who sits in the distance. "Well…make that two", he looks at Morgan and Pan.

"Like…well whatever you have is sooooo much better", Morgan retorts.

"Anyway…I had to save her. And we can worry about…that later", I say. I see Morgan shoot me a dirty look about the last part.

"Sure, you did the noble thing, but she's supposed to be dead. Her presence in the Enchanted Forest could have unforeseen consequences, Hooks tells me".

"She's just a sweet, innocent woman".

"There's no such thing", Pan responds.

"What, if she had a child who grows into a mass murderer? Or she gets tipsy some night and rides her horse into one of the dwarves and there are only six of them? Who knows? We're best not finding out. She doesn't belong here", Hook says.

"I know exactly what we can do. Take her with us", I reply.

"Because that's worked out in our favor so far", Morgan says sarcastically.

"Has either one of you seen Snow? She went to the stream but she hasn't-", Charming says as he approaches. He quickly searches his pocket. "The ring. She took it".

"Really? Do you know where she might be headed?", I ask.

"She was seeking passage on a pirate ship. There's only one way to get to the harbor from here. The Troll Bridge". Charming sets off after her.

"Oh, no".

"Swan, wait", Hook says. "The bridge. Isn't that where you want them to be? Isn't that where Snow saved your father from the trolls?"

"Yes, but the only reason she was able to do that was because she had a weapon. The dust".

"Which she's already used on herself. Bloody hell".

"Come on. They gonna need help".

"When do they not?", Pan asks.

Third Person's POV

One troll has captured Snow White and threatens her with a knife. Prince Charming fights a second troll; the troll manages to strike a blow against Charming's hand. His sword falls to the ground.

"Alright. Alright", Prince Charming says in defeat. The troll picks his satchel; searching he finds Snow White's wanted poster. He shows it around to the other trolls, laughing.

"Snow White", the troll states. "Tell the Queen she still lives", the troll tells another troll. The troll pushes Snow White over to the other troll and prepares to leave. Catching Snow White the second troll his unaware that Prince Charming picks up his sword again. Prince Charming fights the tolls, seeming to have the upper hand in the fight.

"Go! I'm right behind you", Charming tells her.

"Follow me. They don't know the forest like I do", Snow says thinking Charming was nearby. She stops when she doesn't hear his footsteps behind her; turning around Snow White notices that Prince Charming is in trouble. She is about to use the fairy dust as a weapon but it's empty. The trolls prepare to behead Prince Charming.

"Royal blood is the sweetest of all", a troll says.

"Stop!", Snow White demands appearing behind them. "Drop the sword or I will turn you all into bugs". Holding out her hand the trolls see a dark colored grain of some sort. "Dark fairy dust. So, you let him go, or I will be peeling you all off the bottom of my boots". She reaches back with her hand, intending to throw.

"We don't want any trouble", a troll says, dropping his sword.

"Good. And while you are at it, give me reason to forget this ever happened". One troll lays out her gold on the bridge's railing. The trolls exit to under the bridge.

"You saved me", Charming says once they're all gone.

"It was the honorable thing to do".

"But how? You used the dust on yourself".

"Sand". She opens up her fist, letting black sand fall to the ground. "Trolls aren't exactly known for their cleverness. Come on. We should go. In case they come back". Snow takes the prince's satchel which contained the ring, and Charming grabs the money the trolls had left for them to take.

"So, you probably want this", Charming says to Snow handing her the pouch of money.

"Right, the gold", she replies. "And, um, you can't get married without this". She hands Prince Charming his satchel.

Charming takes his mother's ring out of the satchel. "I know, not your style, right?", he asks.

"Oh, there's only one way to find out". Snow takes the ring from him slips it on, and then takes a closer look at it. "Yeah, not me at all. I'm sure your fiancée will love it". Watching her parents from a distance, Emma smiling silently cries.

"It's okay, Swan. Not everyone gets the chance to watch their parents fall in love", Hook tells Emma.

"Blech. I think I liked it better when she was a bug", Pan says.

"Well, wherever you are going, be careful. If you need anything-", Charming begins.

"You'll find me", Snow finishes.

"Always".

"I almost believe that". Snow White and Prince Charming walk away heading in opposite directions, looking back at each other once more before heading in their separate ways.

"They're heading away from each other", Hook states.

"No, it's okay. That's how it happened the first time. It took my parents a while to accept their feelings", Emma informs Hook.

"Must run in the family".

"Don't I know it", Pan mutters. Morgan punches him on the arm. Emma takes Henry's storybook out of Hook's bag and opens it. One by one writing and pictures telling the story appear again.

"Look. We did it", Emma exclaims.

"If only you didn't mess it up in the first place", Morgan mumbles.

Morgan's POV

"We did it", Emma exclaims as me, Pan, Hook, Emma, and the woman enter Rumplestiltskin's castle. Well the woman was being carried in unconscious by Hook.

"You're parents are together?", Rumplestiltskin asks Emma as he prepares a potion of some sort.

"They're right back on track. We're ready to go".

"I see". He notices Emma's cellmate. "And you brought some luggage".

"Long story. So, how's the portal coming? Can you open it?"

"I cannot".

"Well apparently you're not as powerful as they say you are", Pan says to Rumplestiltskin.

"Like you could figure it out".

"Then what are you working on?", Emma interrupts. Aw…I wanted to see who would win.

"Oh, this is for me. A forgetting potion. I know too much about my future. The only way to protect it, is to forget it".

"Well, what about this wand? You said that could help us", Emma says, referencing what I presume to be the black fairy's wand.

"Oh, that. Well, apparently, only those who used the portal can reopen it. So unless you can wield magic, I'm afraid, you're going nowhere". He throws the wand to Emma. "Can you?" Emma remains silent staring at the wand. "Thought not".

"Wait. Can't Pan open it?", I ask.

"Sorry, dearie but for this spell only someone with light magic can enact the spell".

"Just lovely", Pan says bitterly.

"So, you just expect us to stay here? What about protecting your precious future?", Hook asks Rumplestiltskin.

"That's exactly what I'm going to do", Rumplestiltskin replies. I will put you someplace safe. Someplace even I dare not go. Where I store the magic that is too dark or unpredictable even for me".

"Rumplestilts-" A purple cloud encases me, Pan, Emma, and Hook. When the smoke dissipates I notice we are in Rumplestiltskin's vault. Emma walks around the room trying to orientate herself. Hook puts Emma's cellmate down on a table.

"Bloody hell", I mumble. Hook taking a look into a mirror standing in the room he notes that Rumplestiltskin undid the glamor spell he provided them with. "At least he did us one favor. I'm devilishly handsome again", Hook states.

"Just perfect. I get to spend an eternity with him around; and I think we can all come to the agreement that I'm the devilishly handsome one around here", Pan says. Hook opens a cupboard standing beside the mirror and takes out the urn stored inside.

"Wait! Don't touch anything!", Emma exclaims. "If Rumple is afraid of this stuff, there's gotta be a reason".

"I'm just trying to figure a way out", Hook says.

"I don't think there is one. And, what's the point. You heard what he said".

"But you can. All he said we need is magic. You're the savior, Swan. You can do it".

"Not anymore. I lost it".

"When Zelena died, all of her spells were undone. Your powers should have been restored".

"Believe me, if I could make it work, I would. You think, I'm faking it?" Me and Pan exchange a knowing look for it's not hard to see that she does not miss having her powers. If I had any control of my newfound powers I'd try to do something, but unfortunately Emma's our only hope.

"I think not having magic makes it a lot of easier for you to run back to New York and pretend to be somebody else. But listen to me, Swan. You're not. It's time to stop running", Hook tells her.

"You think, I don't know that? Yes, I run away. That's how I always survived. But, believe me, I want this to work. I wanna go back. I wanna stop running", Emma replies. Wow, that's a first.

"What's changed your mind?"

"Watching my mother die. Thinking she was dead. You saw what happened. I was so relieved when she was okay. And I hugged her. I had saved her and lost her, too. And that's what I've been doing to her since I met her. It's got to stop. When Henry brought me to Storybrooke he told me I was the savior. I didn't see what he was really doing: He was not bringing me back to break a curse. He was bringing me home. Neal was right".

"About what?"

"You don't have a home until you just miss it. Being with my parents the last few days, but not really being with them? I've never missed them more. Storybrooke. That's my home". Hook gives Emma a smile. "What?"

"Look down". Looking down Emma notices that the wand in her hand glimmers brightly. "I'd say you've got your magic back. Now, shall we go?" Concentrating Emma reopens the portal. Hook picks up Emma's cellmate.

"You ready?", Pan asks me.

"When am I not?", I reply. He holds his hand out, indicating for me to take it; our fingers entangle themselves before we jump into the portal to return to Storybrooke, otherwise known as the place where a new villain is always awaiting to be recognized as the new focus for my family.

Third Person's POV

"Emma. Hey", Mary Margaret says upon noticing Emma enter.

"You weren't answering your cellphone. We were worried", David adds.

"I'm fine. I'm home", Emma replies.

"Do you mean that you're not leaving?", Mary Margaret asks.

"No. I'm not going anywhere".

"We're staying in Storybrooke?", Henry asks happily.

"Yeah, kid. This is where we belong. This is where our family is".

"Now where have I heard that?", Neal asks me sarcastically.

"Well you were right".

"Where's Morgan?", David asks.

"About that—". But before Emma could finish her sentence the bell above the door jingled; Morgan and Pan stepped inside, holding hands. Mary Margaret, David, and Neal stared at Morgan incredulously, not believing this was real, but Morgan's expression showed that she would not let any one of them change her views on Pan.

Peter Pan's POV

Emma tells her parents, Henry, and Neal about our adventure. On the table in front of Emma Henry's opened storybook is placed. A picture shows Hook and Emma dancing. Morgan and I can be seen in the background, but close enough where we could be easily recognized.

"Wait. You're Princess Leia, Princess Kayla, and Prince Jacob?", Mary Margaret asks us.

"Nice aliases", Henry says.

"I was in a pinch", Emma replies.

"At least you got to pick your name, someone decided to pick mine", Morgan adds, looking in my direction.

"From what I recall you picked mine", I respond.

"Well, there you go. You're officially one of us", David tells Morgan and Emma.

"A fairytale princess at last", Mary Margaret adds.

"I wish I was there to see that", Neal tells Emma.

"And as my first princessly request I would like to know the name of the baby", Emma says.

"Right, that", David replies. "Ready?", he asks Mary Margaret. She nods. "Excuse me. If I could have everyone's attention just for a moment. This coronation ceremony is something we looked forward to for a very long time. The arrival of our new son has been a cause of great joy for our family. And we hope you can share in it as we name him for a hero. And although we've had our differences, he helped bring our family together".

"People of Storybrooke, it's our great joy to introduce you to our our son, Prince Jacob", Mary Margaret says.

"Well it's a good thing I didn't make up some ridiculous name for you", Morgan says.

"Looks like I got lucky", I reply.

Third Person's POV

The warehouse; an urn is lying on the ground. It pops open and and water pours into the remaining abandoned slots of the time portal. Instantly freezing the water confluences in the middle of the structure. Gradually setting hard Elsa rights herself; she takes one of her gloves off and tentatively freezes the urn. Then she decides to leave the warehouse, freezing the ground beneath her feet with every step she takes.
