The Amazing Race: Warriors Edition

Come see your favorite cats participate in the first ever Warriors edition of The Amazing Race. Many teams will participate but only one will win the 1,000,000 mice prize. The teams will travel all around the world and compete in many events and tasks. One of the teams will be viewer's voter choice.

43. Chapter 43

The teams found out that the next destination is Shanghai, China. They were instructed to go to a local travel agency to book tickets. Squirrelflight and Bramblestar asked their taxi driver to borrow his cell phone to look up one. Scourge and Tigerstar and Reedwhisker and Mallownose did the same. Some of the others asked the taxi drivers directly if they knew of a travel agency. Crowfeather and Lionblaze's taxi driver did not know one and had to page another driver to find out. The other taxi drivers knew and took them to one. It turned out that they all went to the same one except Crowfeather and Lionblaze's driver who got lost.

Despite the fact that Reedwhisker and Mallownose's driver left first, Bramblestar and Squirrelflight made it first to the travel agency. They asked for the quickest flight to Shanghai, China. They found a Cathay Pacific flight that would get in the earliest at 10:20 am, but there were only enough tickets for two teams. Therefore Bramblestar and Squirrelflight got the first set of tickets. Bramblestar and Squirrelflight were hoping that Reedwhisker and Mallownose were the next two in the travel agency and not Tigerstar and Scourge. They were happy to see that it was Reedwhisker and Mallownose. They quickly told them about their flight in case Tigerstar and Scourge came in right behind them. In fact they did come in right behind them, but it was too late, Reedwhisker and Mallownose got the last set of tickets.

"That's not fair", said Tigerstar. "They can't tell them about those tickets, it's cheating".

"As much as I hate to say it, It's not", said Scourge.

Tigerstar shot a dirty look at Bramblestar and Squirrelflight. The next flight was due to arrive at 11:10 am. There were enough tickets for the rest of the teams. However that flight left earlier. Tigerstar and Scourge definitely got on that flight. And Hollyleaf and Leafpool who arrived after them, would make that flight too. Jayfeather and Willowbreeze could make it but had to hope that their taxi driver would get there on time. They were wondering to themselves if they should take the risk and go for that flight or go for another flight that left at 9 AM and got in at 11:15 am. Since it was 5 minutes, they decided to go for the 9 AM flight. Then Dawnpelt and Tigerheart arrived and also took the 9 AM flight.

It was 2:30 AM finally when Lionbreeze and Crowfeather arrived. They would make a 9 AM flight but it would be pretty close. They decided to take that risk though and book the 9 AM flight.

Everyone was on their way to the airport. They found out the 6:20 flight arriving at 11:10 was delayed and would not leave until 8:20. However now it meant they would get in at 12:50. The 4 teams rushed to the ticket booth for the 9 AM flight to discover there were only enough seats for 2 teams. The first two to get the tickets were: Hollyleaf and Leafpool and Tigerstar and Scourge. Dawnpelt and Tigerheart and Jayfeather and Willowbreeze had to now go back to take the delayed 6:20 flight. Both teams were feeling disheartened but Lionbreeze and Crowfeather who thought they were last were happy and hugged and cheered. Dawnpelt and Tigerheart gave them a dirty look.

All flights were on their way to Shanghai, China. Bramblestar, Squirrellflight, Reedwhisker and Mallownose all arrived first. They rushed out to find taxis. Their clue directed them to a place called the Yuyuan garden, said to be the only fully restored classical Chinese Garden in Shanghai. When Bramblestar and Squirrelflight tried to explain to their taxi driver where they were going, they got a blank stare from their taxi driver. It turned out he did not understand English. Both cats pantomimed to borrow the phone. It took a few minutes but finally they found the place and how to say take us to Yuyuan garden. It appeared he understood because he nodded and they were on their way. They hoped it worked.

The same thing happened to Reedwhisker and Mallownose. They decided though to be let off and went back to the airport to try to get directions there. They found an information desk and the person there did speak English and was willing to write down the instructions to give to their taxi driver. They were so happy and they rushed to find another taxi.

The 11:20 flight arrived and all the teams rushed out to get taxis.
