DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN ONCE UPON A TIME
Okay, so I've been away for a long while and I think you guys all deserve an explanation of why. If you don't care, I understand, just scroll down to the actual story and please leave a review now that I've gotten my groove back, but for my more devoted fans I'm gonna tell you a story...
You've followed the adventures and romance of Morgan and Pan for a while now, but you don't know the story behind their inspiration. Yes, originally Pan was completely based on the show's depiction, but I started to make small adjustments to him many of you probably did not notice. In real life there is a Morgan and Pan, or there was. Around the time I started this story, I met this guy that I'm just gonna call Nate because this is really personal. I updated a lot at that time because much of Peter's lines were coming from Nate like "I'm the dominant one". My own relationship with Nate really inspired me to write for you guys as ideas were just flowing through my mind especially after spending time with him. I dated him for about 3 years. A year and a half ago, we broke up. He was the first guy I ever truly cared for and after I couldn't seem to write about this story given how much it reminded me of Nate. A few days ago, I finally read some of the reviews you guys left me for my past chapters since the breakup. I don't think you guys realize it, but reviews mean everything, and your kind words to keep this story going got me to remember why I got to FIFTY-FIVE chapters in the first place. Nate will always be my Peter, but now I don't feel the heartache, I'm doing what I love and remembering what it felt like. I don't know when I'll date again, but when I do, Pan and Morgan will get more of those real life experiences that made you love them in the first place.
Now that we're done with the serious stuff...

Chapter 55-Truth and Misery
Morgan's POV
"Hey!" I shout into the woods. "Show yourself, coward!"
"Morgan?" Henry's voice asks; I turn to face him. Of course it had to be Henry who found me, he might be my twin brother, but we were opposites that almost never saw eye to eye, so getting him to back off my case would be difficult.
"Henry? What are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same question."
"Okay, I might have been after the Snow Queen."
"Are you insane?!"
"Mom said—"
"I know what she said! But I had to find out what's she's after."
"What you're doing is dangerous. You can't go after her ever again."
"You can't tell me what to do."
"Look, Morgan. I know you want to find the Snow Queen, but it's dangerous."
"Oh, like your insane quest to find the Author?"
"That's different."
"Really? How?! What did Pan say about him?" Henry doesn't answer me. "He's pretty dangerous then, huh? Who's the dumbass now? At least I know what I'm up against, unlike you."
"All I know is he's powerful."
"You're lying. I know that look. You're trying to convince yourself that he's not as dark as Pan said. And if Pan thinks this Author is someone who you shouldn't mess with, then they're insanely powerful and dangerous."
"The way I see it, we can either fight about whose quest is more stupid, or we can stay out of each other's businesses for now."
"Sounds good. Now get out of here so I can pretend I never saw you. And if you tell anyone, I will make you regret it."
Peter Pan's POV
After my chat with Emma and my awkward chat with Henry, I went searching for Ingrid. I was perfectly fine when her target was Emma, but when I found out it was Morgan she was actually after everything changed. I told Ingrid to stay away from Morgan, but obviously she didn't listen to me, so now she must face my wrath.
"Ingrid! Where are you!" I yell into the middle of the forest.
"Why, Peter. What a pleasant surprise." Ingrid says, appearing right in front of me.
"You're after Morgan."
"Ah, so you've figured that out?"
"I told you what I'd do to you if you ever got near her. And I always keep my promises."
"You're not going to kill me."
"And why not? I want to watch you bleed."
"As lovely as that sounds, I don't think you have it in you, not anymore. You're just a former villain now. People used to fear at your very name, but not anymore. You're all talk now, but little action."
"I almost beat a low-life thief to death for interrupting my date, I haven't gotten soft like you're trying to make me think I am. I would kill everyone in this town to get Morgan alone!"
"There's the Peter I know. The hot-headed King of Neverland."
"What do you want?"
"I want your help, like you used to."
"It was a business transaction. Now, you have nothing I want. Looks like I have the upper hand in this one, lassie."
"Yet you're spending time with me, and once again, I'm the one standing in between you and love. Ironic, isn't it?"
"And yet she doesn't love you, just like Elsa. At least I have people who care about me, unlike you. Now tell me why the prophecy changed."
"Ah. So there was something you wanted."
"The way I see it, you either tell me why things have changed, or I boil you from the inside out."
"Is that supposed to scare me?"
"It's supposed to give you an idea of what I'll do if you don't do as I say."
"Commanding as ever, but you seem to forget that I'm not a Lost Boy, I don't listen to you. Not like it's much different for your Lost Boys either."
"They were a bunch of cowards. They fell for Emma's tricks."
"Like you fell for Morgan. Hard and fast."
"Please, Ingrid. What changed?"
"You really care about this one, don't you?"
"Yes."
"Originally, you were after the Heart of the Truest Believer, correct?"
"Yes."
"Do you know why it changed?"
"No."
"It's the same reason it changed for you."
"And that is?"
"Morgan wasn't supposed to exist."
"What do you mean?"
"Emma was only supposed to give birth to Henry. I don't know how Morgan came to be, but somehow she defied all odds and was born, and someone like that is just too hard to pass up."
Morgan's POV
"Henry, you've gotta seriously stop asking me for favors. I've got a life too, you know. A freaking messed up life, but a life." I tell my brother.
"Oh, come on, this will be the last one. I promise." Henry insists.
"Maybe today. Sorry, but if you want to work for Mr. Gold so badly so you can go undercover for your plan that is totally gonna blow up in your face, do it yourself. I would help, but A, I don't really care about your adoptive mom and our great step-grandmother, and B, I've got plans that doesn't involve some mystery that can only be figured out by magic. I have enough trouble finding time to pretend my life isn't as messed up as it is, so don't even think about asking me to bail."
"But I'm not manipulative like you are."
"I'm well aware of that. And it's not my problem. You want to trick him, find a way to do it yourself."
"Please, Morgan, you know I can't do this without you."
"Why do you think I'm saying no. When you get caught, I don't wanna be dragged down with you. We had an agreement in the woods."
"You owe me."
"For what?"
"You know, uh, that time?"
"You are unbelievably pathetic. Are you sure you're my brother? Before you even ask, desperation does not work on me. Sorry, Henry, but you're on your own and I've got things to do, so have fun with this plan that's definitely gonna blow up in your face."
Emma's POV
"Why am I here?" Morgan groans while Elsa, Neal, Pan, and I go through old city records to find anything on the Snow Queen. She wanted my daughter and Elsa, who was becoming like a sister to me, and I did not want to wait around for her plan to completely unravel.
"Because I need your help to find something on the Snow Queen." I reply, noticing my daughter rolling her eyes before looking over at Pan with a small smile on her face.
"You two; focus." Neal instructs.
"I'll do what I want, Baelfire." Pan retorts before continuing to go through the files.
"Isn't there a better strategy?" Elsa asks us, seemingly just about as annoyed with this as my teenage daughter.
"Sadly, no. Believe me, if there was another way, I wouldn't be wasting my time going through all of this."
"Yeah, you'd be wasting your time in other ways." Morgan quips.
"Enough. I'm gonna go see if Regina has any leads. If anyone finds anything, call me." I tell everyone, giving into my annoyance.
Morgan's POV
I help everyone look for something to stop the Snow Queen; truthfully I'd rather be making out with my totally hot, conniving boyfriend, Pan, but Neal was watching us like Rumple, so there was no chance of that happening.
"How do you people do stuff like this on a normal basis?" Pan asks tiredly.
"No idea." I reply. I open up a manila folder and tense up when I see the contents. I had no idea how these even made their way to Storybrooke, but I didn't care. What was most troubling about seeing my social services file was the photo that depicted me having known Ingrid, and apparently very well.
"You okay?"
"I just need some air." I stuff the folder into my backpack and run out of there without another word. How did I know the Snow Queen? I almost never forget a face, so why couldn't I remember her when we clearly knew each other when I was younger? I run off into the woods before Pan or Neal could chase after me; I stare at a picture at thirteen year old me standing happily next to Ingrid, but I couldn't find that memory anywhere in my brain.
Morgan's POV (thirteen years old)
I look longingly at the food on the shelves of the store; I was on my own yet again after another daring escape from the orphanage. I wanted a different life, but no one wanted me, my parents didn't and no one would ever adopt me, so this is how things had to be. I checked all around me, checking if the coast was clear, and once I was certain I was alone, I open a box of chocolate chip pop tarts, stuffing the contents in my bag and ditching the box, with the barcode that would activate the alarm, at the back of the shelf. I zip my bag back up and casually exit the store, no workers looking suspiciously at me. I walk across the street to the park and sit on one of the benches; a blonde woman sits next to me.
"Hello, Morgan." The woman greets.
"How do you know my name?" I demand, looking at my feet.
"I don't mean to frighten you, I just want to help you."
"I'm not going back there!"
"Sweetheart, this is not the life for a young girl. Please, come with me and I'll give you the life you deserve."
"That's what they all say."
"I'm different."
Neal's POV
I call out for Morganas I search the woods for my daughter, but I'm hearing no response from the sixteen year old. I knew she was out here and I wouldn't give up until I found her, no matter how long it took, even if it took all night.
"MORGAN!" I yell once again. I hear a slight rustle of some leaves; I follow the sound to find Morgan sitting on the ground, looking at a picture. "Oh, thank god you're okay."
"I knew her." Morgan mutters. I sit down next to her to see a picture of a younger version of her standing next to Ingrid. "I don't remember anything. How do I not remember anything?"
"It's okay, we'll figure this out. I'm just happy that you're okay, kid. You're not on your own anymore, remember that, you have me, Henry, and Emma, and you need to tell us things."
"I'm scared, dad. I'm completely terrified and I have no idea what to do. I wish I could remember anything so we can defeat her, but I just can't."
"The truth can't long be hidden. Always remember that. Ingrid might have the upper hand right now, but we will find out her secrets and use them to take her down, it's only a matter of time until that happens. I promise you we will find a way to stop her and then we can work on this family thing."
Peter Pan's POV
"So, you found love with someone else?" Elsa asks me while we continue to look for something even though I'm pretty sure Morgan already did. I look up at her; feeling it's best just to get this over and done with.
"Yeah, I did. Didn't really expect to, but I did." I reply.
"Does she make you happy?"
"You're not gonna ask me about my feelings next, are you? This is dumb; we're dating, so obviously we like each other even though her family doesn't like me, but whatever."
"Peter, just play along."
"I don't do feelings."
"And that's what caused you to take a dark path."
"I'm done, Elsa, I'll never be the guy you want me to be, but I've found something with someone I care about, so is there really anything else to discuss?"
"You haven't changed, Peter, not one bit. I'm gonna go help Emma. You should do what you do best and help yourself, not caring who you have to screw over to get your way."
"At least I'm confident in who I am unlike some people who just judge others and tell them what they're doing wrong with their life. You and I were never gonna work, and seeing you now reminds me of how much you irritated me. Go home, Elsa, and don't come back!"
Morgan's POV
"Pan!" I call out as I rush towards the only guy's whose opinion matters. He grins at me, wrapping his arms around me and holds me there for a while, and I don't want him to let go. I want Pan to hold me forever because when he touches me everything just seems so perfect, like time stands still; Neverland. I never used to be one of those girls that would say things like I need him to survive, but now I would. Pan was my everything and the thought of losing him breaks my heart into thousands of pieces. I know what it's like to lose him, and I know I couldn't survive that heartache another time.
"Hey, Princess." Pan replies. He leans down and kisses me, and everything with the Snow Queen starts to fade away because, right in this moment, everything was absolutely perfect.
"That was hot."
"Obviously, you kissed me."
"And you kissed me, asshole."
"There's that fire I love."
