Guest: Since this is Morgan's story, it is going to be different from what Emma was going through at this point in the Once Upon a Time timeline. Her magic is different and also isn't savior magic. And I will do a Morgan/Emma scene in the near future...those really are fun to write ;)
hateme101: Glad to have your support!
Kaia: Yup, Pan is totally dead once Morgan finds him, and she's a force to be reckoned with. And being a self proclaimed wimp is nothing to be ashamed of; when you're ready, go for it. Believe me, some things are worth waiting for.
Chapter 58 – Smash the Mirror
Unknown's POV
I aim my spyglass at the window to gaze at the girl. I still didn't get why she was worth all this trouble. Before she came along everything was great, but the moment she appeared, everything changed for the worse. I know that the Snow Queen wants something with her, but I'll get to her first, and when I do, I'll kill her so fast that she won't even have a chance to scream.
Peter Pan's POV (Past)
I always hated going to this part of the Enchanted Forest for new recruits, I prefer just staying in Neverland and letting my shadow fetch boys from the other realms, but after the war with the pirates, I was a little low on Lost Boys. Besides, it was always entertaining to interact with people that didn't do whatever I said, when I said it. While that was my favorite thing about being King of Neverland, it sometimes grew tiring; I like action, and when not one Lost Boy challenges me, it was boring.
"Excuse me, could you help me?" a woman's voice asks. I turn around and am about to tell the woman to get lost, but her aura of desperation was just too delicious to pass up. She looked to be a royal, so while she couldn't help find recruits, she could buy supplies needed in Neverland, some for the Lost Boys, the rest to let me live like a king. I might be living on an island, but that didn't mean I wanted to live like a commoner, just like I did before I left that crummy life when I moved to Neverland.
"Not for free, laddie." I tell her.
"I haven't even told you what I want."
"I never fail. The real question is can you deliver on what I need. You see, I'm currently lacking some needed supplies, if you can get me what I need, I'll get you what you desire."
"Who are you?"
"I'm Peter. Peter Pan."
Morgan's POV
I still don't know why I even agreed to come to the park with Henry, but here I was, sitting on a freaking park bench next to my twin brother. He wasn't the worst company to have, but there were other things I'd rather be doing…like killing Pan for example. Unless something happened to him, but that was just impossible; Peter Pan was powerful and no one, not even the Snow Queen could hurt him. But Pan's whole disappearing act wasn't the only strange thing that was going on; ever since I woke up today, I felt like I was being watched, and not watched in a good way like a guy staring at me from afar because he was working up the nerve to ask me out, but in a sinister, creepy kind of way.
"You okay?" Henry asks me.
"I just have this feeling like something's wrong." I tell him.
"Wrong how?"
"Do you ever get the feeling like someone's watching you?"
"You think someone's spying on us?"
"Not us. Me. I know what you're thinking, but no, this isn't Pan or the Ice Queen. Both of them are very direct, especially Pan, and wouldn't spend their day hiding in the shadows."
"Maybe you're just on edge with everything that's been going on; your powers, Ingrid, mom disappearing after her powers went haywire. Frankly, right now, I'm glad I don't have powers to worry about how to control while this is going on; I'd probably blow up Storybrooke."
"I'm serious, Henry." I lower my voice to a whisper out of fear that someone is watching my every move, listening to my every word. "Someone's out there. I know it." I look over to see Henry looking at his phone, probably not even paying attention to me at all. Okay, Pan ignoring me is one thing, but I will not be ignored by my twin brother that I didn't know even existed for fifteen years. I punch Henry hard in the arm so that he'd finally look up from his phone and back at me. Who could he possibly be texting that's more important than me? We stopped texting our friends from New York since we got our memories from that whole experience; we can't exactly just tell them that we live in a town that doesn't technically exist that's inhabited by fairy tale characters. We'd sound crazy to people we'll never see again. True, that would be funny, but the last thing we need is for anyone to wander into Storybrooke.
"Morgan! That hurt! Look, dad's giving me another driving lesson. You can come with and be paranoid at Granny's parking lot if you want."
"Yeah, I'm not going to be anywhere near you while you're driving. I think my odds of dying are higher being in the backseat of dad's Jeep while you're driving than being completely alone in the park."
"I'm not that bad."
"Right…people were screaming in terror because you're an amazing driver, not because you nearly ran them over on the sidewalk."
"Like you're much better."
"At least I drive on the road."
"If I come back to find you dead, I'm taking your hoverboard." Henry walks away like he really had to pee. Knowing my brother, he was probably trying to look cool, but any time that Henry tries to look cool ended up with him looking more pathetic than ever. I sigh of boredom before fishing my phone out from my boot and gazing at my messages between Pan. I want to text him yet another time so badly, but he was the one not responding to my texts, so sending another message was just pointless. He was supposed to be all secretive and evasive to everyone else in this town, not me, and immortal or not, I will kill him once I get my hands on him.
Peter Pan's POV
I wait impatiently for Will in the woods; he said he had a plan, but I don't know what was taking him so fucking long. I just wanted to kill her so that she could never be near Morgan, and all this waiting around was getting old. I like action, and sitting around waiting for Will, rifling through old books, and playing nice with the Charmings seemed to be getting me nowhere. Finally, out of the corner of my eye, I see movement; Will and Robin.
"What's he doing here?" I ask, eying Robin Hood cautiously. He might not have any magic, and I certainly didn't feel threatened, but it never hurt to have my guard up just in case he thought he could try something.
"Mate, you're not the only one who needs help with their relationship. You see, I was with Robin in a library that helped his relationship, and since I had him with me I figured that you need all the help you can get." Will responds.
"How is his little bow and arrow supposed to help?"
"A simple thank you would suffice." Robin says.
"Well, what's the plan? I've been staying away from her in order to find a way to kill the Snow Queen. I thought without her there to distract me from finding out how to kill Ingrid, I'd finally figure out how to do it, but I'm no closer than I was when this whole mess started. I feel like I'm just not cut out for this heroic thing, but I can't let someone as pathetic as the Snow Queen win this was. I'm so sexually frustrated right now, and if I've done it all for absolutely nothing, this whole town will pay."
"Mate, calm down, I get it. Knowing the one you love is in danger is one of the worst feelings in the world. Worry not, we will defeat her."
"No. Don't pretend to understand me. You don't. Do you know what it's like to love someone that has no idea who you are? I watched her for weeks look right through me like I wasn't even there while I remembered how much I love her. I had recently been resurrected and all I could think about was being with her, but she didn't even know my name. That feeling is the worst thing ever; it's like being empty inside. Nothing will ever feel close to that; right now I'm just doing whatever it takes to take Ingrid down."
"Sorry to tell you this, but killing her isn't that easy. She's been planning this for a long time, so if you want to protect Morgan, the last thing you want to do is rush into action without a real plan of strategy."
"Why do you care about what I do, laddie? I tried to kidnap your son not that long ago, and yet you're helping me. What do you want from me? Don't try to hide it, even someone as noble as you has something they want. What is it? Power? Money? A way to have Marian disappear so you can be with Regina without all the complications? Why do you care?"
"If she sees something in you there has to be something worth saving, and I for one do not fancy feeling your wrath if something were to happen to her. You might not be a hero, mate, but you're not a villain anymore. I've heard the stories about how you saved her from Zelena; anyone that risks their life for someone they love deserves to get a happy ending." I notice Robin looking longingly at a piece of parchment in his hands. Not too long ago, I wouldn't have given it any thought, but I've changed from the person I once was, and whether I liked it or not, I slightly cared about people who helped me.
"What's this?" I grab it from his hands and look at a picture of Robin and Regina meeting in the Enchanted Forest. From my time in Henry's body, I read that book of his, so I know that this never actually happened, but rather what could have happened. "I never did understand why he made these alternative pages. Seems like a waste of time to me."
"Him? Like the Author? You know the Author?"
"Haven't seen him in decades, but yes. Can't stand the guy though; he writes all these stories that no one cares about, yet I'm barely mentioned."
"You sure made your rounds, didn't you, mate?" Will asks, laughing at the irony that I knew the guy who his, well whatever Robin was to him, was looking for. Why was everyone even looking for this guy? Couldn't they just make their own destiny like me rather than trying to get the Author to change their story? I don't say anything in response to Will; there was no real need to. "Anyone else that might be important or terrorize the town?"
"Not that I know of."
"Any vengeful ex-girlfriends?"
"None that are any threat."
"So, where is this Author? I'd like to have a word with him as well. I don't need some fancy happy ending, but if he could make it so some events don't happen in me life, I'd be pretty bloody satisfied.
"Sorry, laddie, but I haven't seen that sorry excuse for a man in ages. It doesn't matter anyway; you can't change the past, but you can make a future. I'm still new to this believing in a happy ending thing, but I've learned that if you really do want to make your story go the way you want, you have to make it happen yourself."
Henry's POV
I know lying to Morgan about where I was really going was dumb; having her come with me to find mom would've probably been a good move given what happened. I thought I could help, but like always, I just got in the way. I hate that I feel so useless all the time; I wish I had magic so I could actually do something. I know that magic always came with a price, but it also made you feel powerful; at least that was what Morgan would tell me when I asked her.
"Are you lost? You look lost to me." A dark and twisted voice says. I turn around, expecting to see Peter Pan, but instead am greeted by someone I remember seeing on Neverland back when I was trapped there. Maybe Morgan wasn't paranoid, maybe someone was watching us.
"Who are you?" I ask, hopeful that this Lost Boy wasn't as bad as Felix; maybe he just wanted to help me and my family. There was plenty of Lost Boys that wanted to help us as a thanks from saving them from Pan. Maybe this boy was one of them and had an idea about how to defeat Ingrid from succeeding. I keep repeating that he was a good guy over and over in my head, but even I didn't believe it was true; this guy was definitely trouble, I just know it.
"Your worst nightmare, but you can call me Rufio."
