Hey guys...so I'm back! I know that I have been gone for 5 or 6 months, and I have no excuse for that. During Christmas time, I got really inspired to continue writing and even made a schedule for uploading chapters over my break. While I was writing the second chapter that I was going to upload the next day or so, I received a PM that kind of made me lose all of my inspiration. The person made me feel like an awful writer, and I was seriously considering leaving fanfiction because that PM made me feel like everything I had written was trash. When I was getting prepared to write my final goodbye, I looked back on all of the reviews on my stories. As I was looking at them, I realized that sure, there is always going to be the occasional negative review, but 99% of the reviews are positive and people actually do read and enjoy this story. This made me cheer up a little bit, and I deleted the goodbye note and realized that I would continue on with the story. However, I needed a break before I continued writing. I had no idea how long the HIATUS would be, but I needed a break from the fanfiction world. I apologize for not informing everyone, but I didn't want to upload a chapter that was an authors note because I know a lot of people hate that. I was ready to write a month or two ago, but unfortunately I had a lot going on the past two months and realized that it would be easier to start up again once it was summer. I finally graduated on May 30th, which was very sad, but very exciting! I am going to try to upload as much as I can this summer, and hopefully finish this story! I can't make any promises, and I know for sure that I am going to be gone a lot this summer and I'm going to be away from my family as well, so once I get back I am going to need some time with my family too. I will try to update as much as I can! I love all of you that have stuck with me through this long HIATUS! I apologize if this chapter isn't that great...I wrote most of this chapter back in December and it was hard to get back into the writing flow today! Sorry for the long authors note, but onto the story!

PREVIOUS CHAPTER:
He started to lean in, and there was nothing I could do about it. If I wasn't in a trance, I would've easily pushed him away. He was about an inch away from me when suddenly a scream was heard from Macey. I instantly broke out of the trance and went running back to where we were sitting. I was shocked to see what I saw next, but I had never been happier. Right next to Macey was someone I thought I would never see again, Liz Sutton.
"OMG LIZ YOU'RE BACK!" I exclaimed as I hugged her.
"I know! I missed you, Cam! I missed everybody!" Liz exclaimed as she continued to hug me. We finally let go of each other and she went to go hug the others. I was smiling as I saw Liz greeting the guys as well. Suddenly, I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist and I was pulled into someone's chest.
"We aren't done with our conversation, Gallagher girl," Zach whispered in my ear while smirking.
I rolled my eyes. "Well, I'm done with the conversation, so I think the conversation is over," I whispered back to him.
Liz suddenly looked at me with raised eyebrows. I smiled and realized that I still hadn't introduced her to Zach. "Oh! I almost forgot! Liz, this is my boyfriend, Zach. Zach, this is one of my best friends ever, Liz," I introduced the two.
"Well, we need to catch up, so we will see you guys later! Cammie, it's time to say goodbye to your boyfriend for now," Macey said as she started pulling Liz, Bex, and I away. I turned around, waved, and smirked at Zach. He smirked straight back at me. I turned back around and realized something; once we were done with fake dating, nothing would ever be the same.
Once we got to our room, Macey locked the door and turned around to look at me. "Okay Cam, spill. How and when did all of this happen?!" Macey asked with excitement.
I rolled my eyes. "It never did happen, Macey. We are just fake dating right now because this creeper guy named Austin is like stalking me and wants me to be his girlfriend. Zach just happened to be there when Austin was trying to get me to make out with him, and he saved me. Now we are just going to fake date for a few weeks, no biggie," I said nonchalantly.
Macey and Bex looked at me and sighed. "Really, Cam?! We got all excited for nothing! Well, let us know when you two actually get together, because we have a feeling that it is going to happen soon," Bex said certainly.
I rolled my eyes. "I don't like him that way! Today was just an abnormal day and I don't think that I am acting completely normal. That's why I almost let him kiss me," I said while thinking.
Liz, Bex, and Macey all looked at each other with wide eyes. "WHAT?! WHEN?!" The three exclaimed at the exact same time. I then sighed and explained everything.
"Geez! I missed EVERYTHING!" Liz exclaimed. We all laughed. "But in all seriousness Cam, I know I've only been back for about an hour, but I know when one of my best friends is falling for someone. And you, Cam, definitely are falling hard for Zach."
I groaned into my pillow. "No, I'm not! It's just a freaky one day thing that I need to get over. That's all."
"Keep telling yourself that, Cam. But, let us know when you finally admit that you have feelings for Zach," Bex said. I scoffed and stood up.
"The day when that happens is the day that pigs will be able to fly. In other words, NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. Anyways, let's stop talking about me. Liz, how's it been?" I asked. We then talked for hours until it was time for dinner.
We were all eating normally when suddenly my mom appeared in front of everybody. "Hello, everybody. I would just like to remind you all that tomorrow is your last day before we start classes. That's all I wanted to say. Thank you all!" she exclaimed before walking away.
"Aw, I don't want to start school!" Macey exclaimed.
"It was going to have to start at some point. Get over it, Macey," I said in a monotone voice.
"Someone's not in the greatest mood right now! And I know why! It's because SOMEONE can't accept the fact that they are in love with-OW!" Macey exclaimed as I kicked her shin hard under the table.
Zach smirked. I wasn't in the greatest mood at the time, so all I really wanted to do was slap his smirk off of his face. "In love with whom?" Zach said while smirking right at me.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm in love with no one. The girls just can't accept that."
I saw pain in his eyes for a second, but that was quickly gone. I shook it off and pretended like I didn't see anything. It was a really unusual day, so I decided the sooner I would fall asleep, the better. "I'm not feeling very well right now, so I think I'm going to go back to my room. I'll see all of you guys tomorrow," I said as I got Zach's arm off of my waist and got up. I went back to my room and was on my laptop for about 10 minutes when there was a knock on my door. I rolled my eyes, thinking that it was Macey or Bex.
"WHAT?!" I exclaimed as I opened the door to see Zach standing there.
"Well hello to you too," Zach said sarcastically as he came into my room.
"Sorry, I thought you were Macey or Bex," I said apologetically.
"I know you well enough to know that you are feeling just fine. I know that you were just upset about what happened at dinner, and I know that I'm probably not your favorite person in the world, but I came here just to hang out with you. I promise that I won't bother you about the possibility of you liking me or anything like that. I'm only here to be your friend right now, nothing else," Zach said while looking at me caringly.
I smiled, because for once I didn't feel pressure when I was around him. "Sure, how about we watch a movie." He smirked and nodded, and we sat on the sofa we had in our room and watched Now You See Me. (AN-I DON'T OWN THE MOVIE NOW YOU SEE ME.) I actually really enjoyed spending time with him without bringing up anything related to romance. Once the movie ended, we just talked and joked around for about an hour, but then Macey, Bex, and Liz came in. Zach decided that it was best that he left, so he said goodbye to me and left to go back to his dorm.
"Cam, I knew you didn't want to talk about you and you know who, so I made Bex and Macey promise not to bring up the topic," Liz said with a small smile on her face. That was definitely one of the things I missed about Liz; she would always do things to make sure that her friends were happy. I was overjoyed that she was back and she was back for good.
I smiled. "Thanks guys, and don't worry I think I got all of my feelings sorted out, so if you want to bring up the topic, I don't care."
"So, if you got your feelings sorted out, then how do you feel about Zach?" Macey asked me curiously.
"I think of him as a friend. I used to be completely disgusted at the thought of being friends with him, but he's been there for me. He's just a friend, that's all."
"Aww! That's too bad! Well, I guess maybe it could happen later in life!" Bex exclaimed.
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever you want to think, Bex! Well, I'm pretty tired, so I think I am going to go to bed now. Liz, are you going to be in the same dorm as us?" I asked her.
"Yeah! I asked your mom, and obviously your dorm is HUGE, so I'm just going to have to sleep on the couch tonight, but they're going to bring in another bed tomorrow!" Liz exclaimed.
"Yay! Well like I said I'm going to bed, so night guys!" I said as I got ready for bed. As soon as I got into my bed, I instantly fell asleep from exhaustion.
It was our final day before school started, and I was sick! I woke up feeling dizzy and nauseous, so Liz took me to the nurse. It turned out I was running a fever and I had to stay in bed all day!
"We are going to go get some food. Do you want anything?" Macey asked me.
"Do you think that you could get me a smoothie? I want something cold," I said.
"Sure, I'm guessing you want a mango one?" Macey asked.
"Do you really have to ask that question?" I asked her. I LOVED mango smoothies! They were the most AMAZING things ever!
"Alright Cam, we'll be back in about 15," Bex said as they headed out the door. My throat was killing me, and I knew that I was already feeling freezing, but I wanted something to help my throat. I was watching T.V. when Macey, Bex, and Liz finally came back.
Macey handed me my smoothie, along with some magazines. "We unfortunately are going to be gone for a few hours, but we will come back later. I figured you might get bored, so I bought you those," Macey said.
"I don't care if you guys go out, I'll be fine! Enjoy the final day before school begins. Have fun!" I said, but I was clearly starting to lose my voice.
"If you need anything, call us! Oh yeah! When we were getting food, Zach was asking about where you were, Cam! I know you like him as a friend, but I still think that he wants to talk to you about what happened. If you guys are friends, you should at least be able to make some sacrifices and do that for him," Bex said as she left the room. I rolled my eyes and enjoyed my smoothie. I was reading a magazine when my phone suddenly vibrated.
Hey-heard ur sick...need some company? -Z
Sure y not-come whenever -C
I'll b there in a few -Z
Zach was coming over! I was excited since we had just became friends recently. I waited for him to come over, but after waiting for half an hour I got bored. I started watching a movie, and once another hour passed, I realized that he wasn't coming. I started to get tired, so I laid on my bed. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
When I woke up, it was seven o'clock at night! Zach didn't even show up! I was starting to feel better, so I got out of bed and fixed my hair and went outside to walk around. I happened to be walking by the lounge when I bumped into Zach.
"Why did you blow me off, Zach?" I asked him with an angry tone in my voice.
Zach turned around and looked at me with anger and sadness in his eyes. "Not everything is about you, Cammie. Don't bother talking to me right now," Zach said as he turned around to start walking away.
"Wow...I finally think that there is a chance that you and I could actually be friends, and you try to make me feel bad when you are the one that should feel bad for ditching me like that. That's low, Zach," I said while glaring at his back.
"If you thought that we were friends, then you thought wrong, now leave me alone," Zach said as he continued to walk away and not even try to turn back.
"You are such a self-centered jerk! I'm glad we aren't friends and I never want to see you ever again!" I yelled at him and walked away. Little did I know, those were the words that I would regret saying for the rest of my life.
The next day, I got up early to get ready for school. Once we got our schedules, I went to my first class of the day, math. Luckily, I was in that class with Grant and Liz, so I wasn't alone. When the teacher was taking attendance, he said Zach's name and quietly mumbled to himself afterwards and wrote something on his paper. I was confused, and looked over at Grant. "Where's Zach?" I asked him.
"He isn't going to be here for the next week and a half or so," Grant said while looking at me sadly.
"Why?" I asked him, looking confused.
"I'm surprised he didn't tell you...last night he got a phone call saying his dad was in a bad car accident and he passed away."
