Chapter Thirty-Nine
The man's stupidity never ceased to astound him. When they approached the diner, Ritchie had barely nodded to the alley on the right. Taking a quick peak at the indicted area Jason shook his head in disbelief. It really was surprising the worthless loser had managed to survive as long as he had without being taken out by any of the numerous people he'd pissed off.
"This is just priceless!" Johnny stated with unrestrained laughter.
"He's either the dumbest person alive or his arrogance rivaled Sonny's." Francis recognized their man approaching from the opposite direction. The man would discreetly help Lucky in his inebriated state. Anyone passing by would presume Declan was a Good Samaritan who'd stopped in concern and then offered a hand. "Declan's here."
"Good. He knows which warehouse is ready." Jason turned and rounded the corner, heading for the coffee shop. None of them needed to be seen near Spencer immediately before he disappeared for good. Anticipation buzzed throughout him at the fact that Lucky Spencer would cease to be a concern to his family in a matter of hours. For years he'd gnashed his teeth together to keep from killing the bastard. Now one of his fondest wishes was about to come true.
Francis pulled the café door open and inwardly smirked. Their alibi couldn't get any better. "Commissioner Scorpio, what brings you by?"
Mac nodded in greeting. Corelli being back didn't surprise him, even if O'Brien's reappearance had gave him pause since the PCPD assumed he was dead. The older blond had distanced himself from Corinthos after his friend went missing. Now that Sonny no longer was an issue it seemed the two former guards had returned. It also didn't escape his notice that they treated Morgan like their friendship never ended.
Deciding to get straight to the point since he needed to still pick Maxie up and drive her to Cooper's funeral, Mac shifted restlessly. "I'm here to see you, Morgan."
"I won't say anything without Diane present."
"Calling her isn't necessary. Damien Spinelli's body was found on Spoon Island earlier. Since he worked for you and lived at your penthouse I decided to inform you because he has no living family that I can locate."
Eyes unreadable and face impassive he waited for Mac to continue.
The lack of reaction didn't surprise the commissioner. Jason's stony façade was legendary. "His body will be released from the corner tomorrow. Do you know who to contact? The department keeps drawing blanks."
As much as he detested burying the traitor, Jason knew it would be suspicious if he didn't. Spinelli's association with him was well known and the fact that he deserved the bullet in the head was not. "I'll have Diane arrange to have him transported to the funeral home."
"How did he die?" Johnny piped up. Since he was present at the time of his execution he already knew the answer, but asking seemed like the right thing to do. Jason's lack of emotion may have been expected but they didn't want to appear too nonchalant.
Mac grimaced. There were days he wondered if being a cop was worth the hassle. "GSW to the back of the head after being roughed up quite a bit."
"Any suspects?" Francis asked curiously. O'Brien and Hayes had been tight lipped over who they were setting up as the hitter.
"Ballistics traced back to Barrett's service weapon," the older man admitted with a grim face. His job complete, Mac started toward the exit before turning back around. "Have you spoken with Zacchara since they left?"
"Yes. I'm sorry, Mac, but they aren't returning ahead of schedule. Johnny and Georgie are aware of everything that's occurred since they left."
He massaged the back of his neck. "As much as I hate to say it, I don't blame Georgie for staying away. Robin treated her horribly since she announced she was marrying Zacchara. And Maxie, well, she needs to accept that her sister can't be at her beck and call all the time."
Jason blinked. Mac's reaction surprised him. "Alexis has been blowing Johnny's phone up. Can you rein her in, Mac?"
Annoyance filtered across his tired features. "I'll try. Her insistence on Georgie coming back is odd. Georgie's still processing so much and neither Alexis nor Maxie get that. I know Zacchara is screening all calls that get through and I'm relieved. Those two would've made it impossible for Georgie to enjoy her time away and focus on Baylor."
"And Zacchara too? Their trip is also kinda like a honeymoon for them since they didn't go right after they wed." Johnny couldn't resist pointing out. The commissioner's obvious avoidance of his daughter's husband amused the troublemaker.
Shooting the Irishman a dark glare, Mac exhaled heavily. "Shut up, O'Brien. She may be twenty-four but I still think of her as a little girl. One of these days you'll understand when your daughter brings home a cop."
The horror on his face at the suggestion caused Jason and Francis both to chuckle. Mac nodded one more time before leaving with the other man's face still holding the horrified expression at the idea of being related to a cop.
OoOoOoOoOoOo
Swaying to the rhythm of the music Georgie let her eyes drift closed. The night had been amazing. Johnny had taken her to his favorite restaurant. To her astonishment he'd arranged the small restaurant to prepare them her favorite Italian dish and close to the public for the night since he didn't want guards tagging along on a romantic dinner. Conversation flowed as smoothly as the aged wine they drank, neither hinting at any of the problems waiting for them back in Port Charles. Tonight had been the chance to really get to know one another, something that all the chaos hadn't allowed. Dreams, future goals, and even fond memories of their pasts were shared.
Johnny had been attentive since the night he'd drove her home from GH but the charming romantic side on display tonight was a complete surprise. Georgie had always suspected he was a complicated man with many different layers to his personality and she instinctively knew very few others had glimpsed this side of the man currently holding her close. Resting her head on his chest while his arms pulled her even closer, she listened to his heartbeat with a new clarity. Not only was she in love him, she could now admit the only other person she'd ever cared this much for was her daughter. From the beginning the fear of needing him kept her rebuilding the walls surrounding her heart as he effortless tore them down. It was no wonder the fight had been useless. You couldn't ignore fate. Everything in her life led her to him, her other half. A soft sigh escaped as she thought of how many times she could've been held in his arms exactly like right now and instead she'd shoved him away out fear and stubbornness. And the times she did allow him to comfort her, a part of her still had remained emotionally aloof, not allowing him too close.
Feeling her exhale heavily Johnny splayed a large hand on the small of her back while the other slowly slid up her back and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. "You getting tired, baby? Did you want to go back to the table?" She hadn't been sleeping well and they'd spent a long day at his uncle's. Exhausting her wouldn't do, not with him wanting to give her a nice night away from everything.
Having his strong arms wrapped around her, holding her tenderly while they slow danced was intoxicating, a sinful pleasure she wasn't ready to end. Looking up at him through partially lowered lashes she unconsciously wet her lips. "No. This right here feels perfect."
Swallowing a groan when the tip of her tongue swiped along her bottom lip Johnny fought to keep his body from reacting. Having her soft curves pressed intimately along him while breathing in her sweet fragrance was pure torture, but of the best kind. The urge to go back to their room and ravish her delectable body until neither could think straight was overpowering. But tonight he wanted to be about more than just how much he craved her body. He smirked. Ravishing her would come after they called it a night.
"I should've taken you out before now," he murmured while letting his fingers dance on her silky skin, enjoying how it felt and looked in the dimly lit room.
"When? It's not like we've had the time. And let's face it, Johnny, I didn't make it easy for you to get close."
His lips curved. "True, but I'd do it all over again. You were definitely worth it, even if I wanted to shake you a times."
She had to laugh at the truth in the last part if his statement. Winding her arms around his neck and guiding his head closer to hers, she grinned cheekily. "Poor, poor, Johnny. All those years of women just dropping at your feet really inflated your ego. But I don't think your confidence suffered too much of a hit after learning you aren't a God."
"Nope! Because in the end I still got exactly what I set out to." His breath tickled the sensitive skin at the nape of her neck, sending shivers down her spine. "And now that you're mine, I'll never let you go."
The predatory gleam darkening his eyes and the huskiness of his voice elicited a low moan, which he answered with a growl before capturing her mouth and tangling his tongue with hers. Being independent and standing on her own had been a source of pride for Georgie, but Johnny's possessiveness didn't scare or insult her. Instead it fed the familiar ache that had started to spread throughout her from the minute she felt his hard body pressed against her. Curling her slender fingers in the back of his dress shirt when he eased the pressure of his mouth on hers, Georgie whimpered at the sudden loss.
Counting to thirty to regain his composure, Johnny cupped the side of her flushed face. He loved how she responded to his touch but now was not the time to continue what they both wanted. Clearing his throat, he inclined his head toward their table. "Let's order dessert."
"How about we have it boxed up to go?" she suggested.
The slight tremor of hesitation caught his attention but he only smiled wickedly before leading her back to the table and motioning the discreet waiter forward. Watching her walk toward the hallway where the restrooms where located after excusing herself while the sweets were boxed, Johnny felt anger mix with the buzz of pleasure tonight had caused. Although she hid it well, the insecurities she had left a bitter taste in his mouth. Whoever had caused the self-doubt that cropped up periodically had better pray he never learned their identity. Georgie was an incredibly warm, brilliant, and sexy woman. The idea of anyone making her feel less than desirable had him seeing red.
Accepting the bag containing their desserts he stood once she reappeared and slid an arm around her waist before ushering her from the restaurant. Outside on the moonlit street he squeezed her hip gently as they started back to the hotel.
"Thank you."
Georgie blinked at him. "I should be thanking you, Johnny. Tonight was wonderful. A romantic dinner followed by dancing, I loved every minute of it."
"Good. You deserve a night just for you, but that wasn't what I meant," he admitted while they slowly walked through the piazza. "Thank you for letting me be a part of yours and Bay's life, Georgie. I've never been happier than this last month spent with you, being a family."
Her heart swelled with emotion. Johnny was the answer to most women's fantasies; dark good looks, killer smile, confident, extremely protective, and surrounded by an aura of danger. The fact that he found her attractive left her in awe. "You didn't give me a whole lot of choice in the matter," she teased, trying to keep how the honesty in his words affected her from him. "You and Bay pretty much overrode all my protests."
"You think you're cute, don't ya?" he told her lightly while they crossed the lobby to the elevator. Once in the private lift that only went to the top floor, Johnny encircled her in his arms while standing directly behind her. Feeling her start at the contact, he leaned in close to her ear. "You didn't resist all that hard."
"I still didn't drop at your feet. Maybe your charm is slipping." Gasping when he reached around her and hit the button to stop the elevator, Georgie tried to turn to face him but he stilled her attempt by forcing her against the closest wall. "Johnny?"
Tugging her arms above her head, he held them against the cool door while nipping the exposed shoulder directly in front of him before lifting his head. "Charm isn't what you want, Georgie," he growled, his mouth touching her ear while his free hand cupped one of her breast. When her breathing increased and her nipple tightened at his touch he smirked before laying moist kisses along the smooth skin left uncovered by the strapless summer dress she wore. Sliding his hand to her other breast he fondled the perfect globe of flesh while she whimpered and tried to turn to face him. "Uh uh," he hoarsely muttered before freeing her hands and jerking the skirt of the dress up so it was bunched at her waist, then ripping away the lacy fabric covering her core.
Georgie's body arched in pleasure as his fingers teased her slick folds before dipping into her center. A small cry escaped as his thumb circled around the pleasurable bundle of nerves while he thrust his fingers inside her. "Oh God!" Panting and writhing in his arms, she clutched the arm firmly secured around her, supporting her as she trembled. "Johnny! Now! Please!"
Ignoring her sobbing command he continued to drive her closer to the brink while intermittently sucking and nibbling on her neck and shoulder. Only when her walls rippled and started to contract around his two fingers did he lift his head and whisper right at her ear. "Let go, baby."
Unable to resist the coaxing demand, Georgie felt the climax hit. The long, low moan filled the small space as her head fell forward and her body convulsed. Her hands flat against the wall now, she shakily exhaled while trying to regain the control he continuously shattered. Lost in the delicious haze of release she only snapped back to the present when he gripped her hips and thrust inside her still contracting channel, stretching her as he buried himself inside her with a deep groan.
"Fuck," he hissed between his teeth as he started thrusting immediately, his control snapped by Georgie's sharp scream. Harder and faster he took her while holding her still by the hips so he could keep the furious paced rhythm. The low moans mixed with her frantic panting only spurred Johnny on, determined to send her over the edge again. The way she was tensing and the pitch of her groans made it obvious Georgie was fighting the approaching orgasm.
"Johnny!" she wailed uncertainly as sensations and emotions bombarded her all at once.
He gritted his teeth, fighting to keep from exploding before sending her over again. Her contracting walls rippled tightly around his thick cock as he released one hip and slipped his arm around her chest, easing her backward so her quivering body leaned on him. "It's okay," he roughly soothed, understanding she'd never experienced the intensity of the approaching orgasm. "Just go with it. Let me feel you come all over me, Georgie. You feel so fucking good! Stop fighting and go with it, baby." When she sobbed and bit her lip, he slid his hand down and flicked her clit, making it impossible to hold off the pleasure from peaking.
Georgie's scream echoed in the elevator as all the building sensations combusted. Her nails dug into Johnny's forearm but he didn't notice because her walls clamped down and convulsed on his cock, causing him to spill his seed deep inside Georgie while she trembled from the aftershocks of the massive orgasm. Giving a couple more slow deep strokes he rested his head on hers while still holding her up.
"I've wanted to do that since the first moment I laid eyes on you in that dress," he murmured while trying to slow his heart rate to normal.
Georgie looked back at him with a sensual haze clouding her half closed eyes. "You should come with a warning label."
He placed a soft kiss on her forehead before reluctantly pulling out and fixing his clothes. "Let's go check on Bay and then we'll work on what that label should contain." Checking to make sure she was straightened up, he snatched her torn panties from the floor, slipping them into his pocket before restarting the elevator. "We'll probably have to test each of them though," he warned with a naughty sparkle in his eye.
