Chapter 14: Trapped
Mya's P.O.V
"What deal?" I played dumb. I didn't feel like arguing about a deal. I didn't feel like making a deal. I didn't even feel like talking. I just felt like slapping him in his annoyingly smug face.
"Your heart. In exchange for your father's and all his crew's safety. And return home, of course." He flashed a smile at the end as if his deal was more than I could expect from him.
"So basically I'm going to die?" I asked. It was kind of hard for me to believe that every time Peter showed any kindness towards me or any sign of the fact he might actually care about me... It was only because he cared about my heart. And that he needed it to save his stupid island. I wanted to slap myself for being so naive.
He nodded. "I'm afraid so. But you'll die so everyone else can live. I think that's a pretty good deal."
I crossed him arms. "What happens if I refuse?"
His face darkened and his smile faded. "You die anyways. And so does everyone else." He was dead serious. And I knew he'd keep his promise.
"So you'd get my heart either way? Then what was the point of making a deal?" I was officially confused. Couldn't he have just ripped my heart out the moment he saw me? I would have been more convenient for him surely.
"I felt it was the gentleman thing to do."
Something was suspicious here. "When have you ever cared about being a gentleman?"
"I'm giving you a good offer. Take it before I change my mind."
I frowned at all the possible reasons why he'd need an offer when- "You need me to be willing." He blinked. "You need me to be willing to give you the heart."
"That's not-"
"I'm right, aren't I?" I smirked. I got the little bastard now.
"Does it matter? You're going to accept either way. You wouldn't want to risk watching every single person on that ship dying, would you?" I scowled at him. My father came into mind. He couldn't have possibly killed him if he wanted to use him as bait. Which meant he was still alive somewhere. I just prayed he had the good sense of coming to find me. I hated the idea of being the damsel in distress but I needed backup. Maybe if I stalled Peter long enough, it would arrive.
"So... Nice weather huh?" Smooth. Really smooth.
Third Person
Tink had fallen asleep after sending the message, along with most of the crew. Hook remained awake. His hands gripping the bars of the cage, eyes narrowed to see more clearly in the darkness of the night. He kept hoping the message worked and that help would arrive soon. He couldn't bare the thought of that monster hurting Mya in any way.
"Captain?" A voice spoke from the darkness. And Hook's prayers had been answered. He banged against the cage and cried. "Smee! Over here!"
The chubby man in his overused hat soon came into view, and Hook's cries woke up everyone in the cages.
"What's going on?" Tinkerbelle asked, her eyes slowly opening.
"Smee's here. The message worked." Hook told her, then turned to Smee. "Can you bring us down?"
"I can try, captain." Smee said obediently, pulling out a small knife and started working on the vine that pulled the cages up.
Hook slowly relaxed in the hope he'd get out of there in time to save his daughter.
Mya's P.O.V
"Seriously?" Peter raised an eyebrow at me.
"What? I'm trying to make conversation." I replied innocently.
"Why?" I could tell he had no clue what I was up to, and that he was taken aback by my effort of conversing with him for no apparent reason.
"Well, I'm gonna die right?" He nodded cautiously. "Then I might as well have a decent conversation with someone since it's going to be my last. And since you're the only human being here..." I trailed off.
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were trying to stall me." Damn it. He figured it out.
"Pfft, whaaat? Where did you get that crazy idea?" So not convincing...
He shook his head unbelievably. "You're still an terrible liar."
"I am not!" I groaned. "I'm just bad under pressure..."
"Sure you are." He grinned. But his grin didn't last long. "Unfortunately we don't have time to stall. I'd rather get this over with."
"Fine." I lifted my hands up in defeat. "Come and take it."
At first he didn't look convinced, but then he started walking towards me. I tried to keep still but my feet betrayed me and started darting backwards, until my back was pressed against the cave wall. I was trapped. He smirked and kept coming towards me at a steady pace.
What he didn't know was that I had a plan up my sleeveā¦
Third Person
Felix had watched Peter drag Mya into the forest and then had gone back to camp where he had been greeted by the worried faces of the Lost Boys.
"Where's Peter?" They all asked. And he replied the same thing to every one of them: "I don't know, he wouldn't say." But he did know. He just wished he didn't.
He didn't particularly like this Mya girl, but the thought of her being sacrificed without certainty still felt wrong. Then again, he couldn't stop Peter until the shadow returned.
And with that thought in mind, he felt a strong wind blowing from behind him. He turned along with all the Lost Boys to see a dark figure flying through the night sky, towards them. And in it's grasp, a smaller figure.
The shadow had returned. With the answers they'd been waiting for.
WHAT HAS THE SHADOW BROUGHT?! DUNN DUNN *suspense*
..okay maybe not that much suspense but yeah.. ahah :D
