Chapter 15: Tricks

Mya's P.O.V

"So, um, how does this work exactly?" I wondered once he was standing way too close for my personal comfort.

He looked at me as if I was mentally ill. "You give me your heart. I thought that was pretty clear."

"Well, yeah, but I was expecting some kind of ritual or-" I stopped talking by surprise when he took my hand. "Err... what are you doing?"

"Helping you." He placed his hand on top of mine, probably about to give me magic to rip out my own heart. But that wasn't going to happen. My plan took action.

I used my free hand and enclosed it around the hilt of my sword, pulling it out.

Peter laughed but took a step back as I held it pointed at his face. "Are we really going to do this again?"

"Yes." I smiled widely. "Except this time, you're unarmed."

He grinned at my comment and a sword appeared in his hand. Shit. "You were saying?"

"...Your hair looks really nice today, did you wash it or something?" I complimented him while I tried to subtly step away but he moved forwards, and clashed his sword against mine.

"You might as well give up now." Peter offered, ignoring my compliment.

"Nope." I replied, and fought back. He managed to defend every move I made, just like last time, but this time, so did I. He looked surprised at what I was able to do, but not enough. I was starting to doubt if I could actually do it. Just one hit.

His sword slashed inches away from my arm, I took the opportunity to fall on the floor, dropping my sword next to me. "Ouch!" I cried, feigning to be hurt. Peter looked at me, concerned.

"That's what happens when you try to fight me." He said, crouching down besides me, his sword was still in his hand, but he had brought it down.

I groaned. "It hurts." I put on the best pained-look I could muster. Finally, he placed his sword on the ground and started healing my not-really-hurt arm. He was probably concerned for my heart more than he was for me. It would have been a real pain if I had died without sacrificing my heart first. I almost felt like attempting suicide just to get on his nerves...

I knew I was playing dirty, but it was the only way. While he was distracted, I grabbed my sword and quickly swung it. Luckily, it hit Peter's outstretched hand. It was just a small cut. But hopefully it was enough.

He stood up, angry. "Is that all you got?"

Before I could reply, the ink was already doing the desired effect. A purple substance was paralyzing Peter.

"Yeah... but I think it's enough." I smirked at his startled face.

Third Person

Smee had managed to cut the vine that held Hook and Tink's cage up, letting it crash down to the ground as soon as he did. "Thanks, mate." Hook patted Smee's shoulder in gratitude once he came out of the cage, followed by Tinkerbelle. He took the knife and cut the second cage down himself.

When they were all down, Hook didn't waste any time. "Come on! We have to find Mya." He called out to them and started making his way into the forest. He stopped only when he felt a hand on his arm, shifting him around.

"Wait, we have to be smart about this." Tinkerbelle tried to shake some sense into him. "You can't just barge in there-"

"Hell yes I can. He has my daughter. I'll stop at nothing-"

"I'm sure you won't. But what do you think will happen if you do manage to get her? You won't have enough time to get the pixie dust, even if you paralyze Pan." She told him.

Hook was about to argue, but found she had a point. "Then what do you suggest?" He sighed.

"We split up." She said, Hook raised an eyebrow, urging her to explain further. "You go get Mya, and I'll go get the pixie dust. We'll meet back at the beach where the Jolly Roger is and then you can leave."

"What about you?" He asked automatically. He hadn't really thought about why Tink was helping him, he expected it was to get a passage off the island... apparently not.

"This is my home now, I have nothing in the other lands." There was pain in her voice, but she covered it up with a poker face.

Hook knew not to ask any more questions. "Alright!" He turned to his men. "You two," he pointed at two of his men randomly, "you're going with her. Do everything she says or asks you to do. The rest of you are coming with me." The men followed their orders, and with that, Hook entered the forest.

Mya's P.O.V

"You tricked me." He looked up at me, startled. He definitely didn't expect it. His eyes were pitch black. Or at least they looked like it.

"It's not like you left me a choice." I told him. He looked really pissed off right now. I would have probably ran away if I thought he could move. "Besides, it's only fair since you tricked me from the moment you met me." I pointed out.

"I don't know what you mean." His pissed-off face kind of settled into an I-want-to-kill-you-but-I'm-keeping-my-cool face.

I raised my eyebrows. "You pretended you wanted me to become a Lost Girl, that you cared." I recalled the time when he slashed Felix's face just because he let me drown. I only now realized it was only to save my heart. Not me. He never truly cared about me.

"I did care." He almost sounded truthful. The little bastard.

"No, you cared about my heart. Because you needed it to break this stupid curse of whatever this is." I shrugged it off. He was about to say something but I interrupted him. "I'm sorry it didn't go as planned... Wait, actually, I'm not sorry at all." I flashed him a smile and started heading towards the exit of the cave. "Enjoy being paralyzed!" I called out as I left. I expected him to cry after me, threaten me... something! But he kept quiet. Too quiet.

I actually love the Hook/Tink scenes.. is that just me? but only as friendship! (..maybe) I'm a captain swan shipper in the show.. so :3
