Chapter 24: White Lies
Third Person
Hook fought against Black Beard for a long while, neither of them with the intent of surrendering. And this would have went on forever until the one-handed pirate reached inside his spare pocket with his hook. It wasn't easy to handle pixie dust with that item, but he managed, and flung the dust at his opponent, who, caught off guard, dropped his sword.
Hook didn't hesitate to use this opportunity. "Run." He told Smee who still had the empty glass bottle in his hand.
At the captain's word, he dropped it and followed him, running back to the ship.
It wasn't far and the crew was waiting for their return.
Hook did not waste any time, he knew Black Beard would be conscious by now.
Taking a magic bean from the pouch, he yelled at his crew to get ready for departure, and threw the bean into the ocean.
It created a water spiral into the see, and the ship headed that way to enter it.
"Killian!" Hook turned to see Black Beard shouting his name from the port that the ship had already left. He did not look pleased.
"Farewell, old friend." The captain shouted back, grinning triumphantly And those were the last words Black Beard heard before the ship disappeared completely inside the spiral.
Mya's P.O.V
Our lips parted after a really long kiss. It could have lasted hours, it could have lasted minutes. I honestly couldn't tell the difference here.
"I have something for you." Peter smiled as he took something from his pocket.
I frowned. "For me?" A present? I suddenly got exited. I loved presents.
Peter nodded as he handed it to me. I recognised it as soon as he placed it in my hand.
The miniature wooden anchor.
"You're... 'giving' this to me? Why?" He was so pissed the last time I had it.
He shrugged. "I don't know. I guess I
always wanted you to have it. I just didn't realize it before." He reached out for the anchor in my hand and turned it round. "W."
I raised my eyebrows quizzically. "So?"
"If you turn it upside down..." He did, and the letter changed. "M."
I raised my eyebrows again. "For Mya?"
"Do you know anyone else who starts with the letter M?" He raised his own eyebrow. I wondered what he'd do if he woke up one morning and it wasn't there any more.
"I do. But I doubt you do." I pursed my lips. "You're not really that sociable."
"Yeah, I don't really like people." He admitted unremorsefully.
"I figured." I said, nodding. Then a doubt passed through my mind. "Wait, I'm an exception, right?"
He let out a laugh. I realized I loved it when he laughed. Even more when I was the reason for it. "Yes, you're an exception."
He took my hand, the one with the anchor in it, and enclosed his own hand around it. "Here." I didn't understand what he meant until he opened my hand again, and the anchor was now tied on a small string. I never thought Peter would use his magic to make jewellery... I guess he was full of surprises too.
"Nice." I commented, admiring what had now become a necklace.
"Turn around." He ordered. But there was no harshness in his voice. I did, giving my back to him.
He took the necklace from me and placed it around my neck. I lifted my hair out of the way so he could tie it.
"There." I felt his breath down my neck. I wanted to turn around and kiss him again, and maybe I would have, but we were interrupted.
By who? Well, it was an easy guess.
"Felix." Peter greeted, with no smile on his face.
Felix's kept a straight face. There was no way of telling what he was thinking. But his hatred towards me was quite clear nonetheless.
"There's news." Felix informed him. Cryptic, as always.
What news? What was he talking about?
I turned to Peter, hoping he would explain, but he just nodded at Felix, who left immediately after.
"I have to go." Peter told me, already starting to follow Felix.
"Wait." I held onto his arm. "What news?" I asked.
"Well I haven't found out yet, have I?" There was a tad annoyance in his voice which made me let go of him. Why was he being like this now?
He didn't even give me a chance to reply before he hurried into the forest.
I gave it a couple of seconds, and then I followed him.
Third Person
"What news, Felix?" It took Peter very little time to reach him.
"About the pirate. He is no longer in the Enchanted Forest." Felix spoke, clearly repeating what he had heard from the shadow.
Peter didn't look worried. "So?" He shrugged. "I told you to warn me only when the news was worth it."
"He might be coming back here." Felix pointed out.
"He won't. He must be travelling to another land to find the boy. I doubt he'll ever return without him."
"What if he found out the boy isn't alive yet? He'll return then." Felix suggested.
"How could he have found out?" Peter inquired.
"You're right. He couldn't have." Felix agreed, still unconvinced.
"I usually am. From now on, only inform me when the news is important." Peter ordered, and then left. Felix followed close behind.
But that left one other person there.
Behind one of the trees nearby, she had been listening to the whole conversation.
And she was furious.
