Who takes coffee at midday and doesn't leave until 1pm? Me, that's who :)
Chapter 26: Back Again
Third Person
The Jolly Roger arose from the ocean spiral, surprisingly dry.
Hook still had his hand, and hook, gripping the wheel. His eyes narrowed towards the island before him.
Neverland.
"We have returned!" He cried, triumphantly, as the crew cheered. He knew they weren't exactly pleased to have returned. But their captain's victory was their own.
The only real task Hook had to face now was how to get Mya and leave, since he didn't have the boy Pan wanted. The boy who wasn't alive yet, according to Tinkerbelle's message.
"Mr. Smee!" He called out at the man in the red beanie, who came forth immediately.
"Yes captain?" Smee took his beanie off and fiddled with it in his hands.
"Prepare a dinghy. I'm going to shore." Hook ordered.
"Alone, captain?" Smee asked. Hook couldn't perceive if he was worried about his captain or afraid that he might ask Smee to join him.
"Aye." Hook replied. He didn't want to be accompanied in this, knowing Pan would not take his return kindly.
And he didn't.
Peter was lying on his hammock, focused on carving an object out of wood, when he felt it. He felt someone entering Neverland. He couldn't make out who, but he had formulated an interesting theory: Hook.
"Felix!" He shouted, standing up.
The Lost Boy entered the tree trunk. "The pirate has returned." Felix informed, and though that wasn't his intention, Peter could hear the 'I told you so' in his voice.
"Yes, I know." Peter snapped back. "Find Mya." That was his biggest concern.
He did not know why the pirate came back since he certainly had not found the boy, but he knew Hook wouldn't falter to find his daughter as soon as he arrived.
And if Mya found out he had sent her father away hoping he wouldn't return she'd never forgive him.
"The girl is gone." Felix briefed. "She's not in camp."
"What?" Peter was about to loose his temper, and that was never favourable for anyone. "She said she just had to-" Realization hit him. She had lied.
But why? Had she known that her father would return? How? Who could have told her?
A name popped in his head almost immediately. "Get the fairy." He ordered Felix as he exited the tree trunk.
He was going to find Mya before her father got to her. He had to.
Mya's P.O,V
Well waiting was exhausting. And famishing…
I believed in some delicious chocolate cake, and was about to take a bite out of it when I saw a dinghy rowing my way.
I could make out a man inside it, wearing a black, long, leather jacket. I was also quite sure he had a hook instead of a hand.
Dad.
I then decided it would be a much more legendary reunion if it was a surprise. As the hiding spots in Neverland were anything but original, I hid behind one of the trees in the forest, my head slightly detectable.
With my hands basically hugging the tree so I wouldn't fall and ruin the surprise, I watched as the dinghy drifted to the shore, and my father stepped out onto the damp sand.
I was ready to call out "Dad!" and rush towards him, but I was unable to do so due to a hand covering my mouth.
I gasped, trying to remove the hand with both of mine.
"I don't think so." A voice whispered in my ear.
The sound of his voice felt like tiny needles pricking all over me. His hand was gripping onto my waist. But not like they did when he was kissing me. His touch was harder, firm. I could barely recognize him if it weren't for that inequivocabile voice.
As much as I attempted to free myself from his grasp, squirming and kicking. It was no use.
I painfully glanced at my father, who had not noticed me. And apparently wasn't going to.
I dreaded the thought of what Peter was going to do to him. And had also come alone. What the hell was he thinking?
As a tear formed in my eye, my vision was blurred, but I could still see the man I should have called out to walk away and out of my sight.
And the only thing I could think of was: "I never got a chance to say goodbye."
That little bastard of a Peter Pan. Dick move, huh?
Sooo I'm really enjoying inventing titles for my chapters, especially when they have double meanings.. is "back again" for Hook coming back to Neverland.. or for Peter "back again" to his old ways? DUNN DUNN
Let me know what you think in the reviews :)
